ALLWAYS check your IPL before you try to Hard-Spl... A Goldcard is much more complicated than reading carefully at first.

Right i decided to get rid of the "in the future" 1.65 radio and well downloaded the radio 1.59.44.04 used the same romupdateutility.exe as with the 3LIT3 Rom and well it has hard reset my device. So now i have to set it up again but for future use what should i have used. Would it have the the custom RUU that i have seen around here.
Thanks for the help and maybe in the future i wont make stupid and time wasting mistakes! lol
i've made good experience with flashing roms and radios with sd card only. so there is no need for any RUUs at all... if you haven't done it already, you'll find the howto in the wiki...
so flashing only radio never changed the rom... are you sure it was really only radio?

Welcome to the club Chris - have done the same thing myself!
There is another RUU that was created by udK that only flashes the radio. If you have a bit of a search you should be able to find it.
Hey thanks for that i knew there must be a way and had seen that floating around but it only hit me that it may reset when it was rebooting which was a little too late really...

Have you rooted your phone yet? Have you flash the recovery? If not you need to do this before anything.

Read read read. Read every sticky. Search the forums for questions you come up with. Unlockr com has videos on some of the stuff.
Do not stray from the cdma hero section. Do a nandroid backup. Don't mess with radios.
It isn't hard to learn how to do the stuff, but you should do some reading first and not jump right in. Just make sure you understand before doing.

You don't. Official rom is 1.56. Several custom roms you could try though.
Okay, I have searched in the Wiki and such and I havent found anything. Sorry if im posting a dumb question. I also dont have a extra SD card for a gold card. Whats the easiest way to root/ safest? is the 1.76.0010 still considered a perfect SPL?

Universal Androot app i was able to root my phone.
How did you wind up unlocking your phone with perfect spl 1.76.0010. I flashed the official rogers 2.1 update 3.54.631.4 ROM and am unlock and try some gingerbread.
I could really use some ones help me root my phone and get 2.2 froyo I would really appreciate if some one can help me please. Can help one reply and show me how
Do you want root + custom rom, or just stock froyo.
I will tell you that stock froyo leaves a LOT to be desired and the custom ROMs are incredibly better.

Honestly, you are better off rooting on your stock 2.1, read the noob guide.... will add more shortly.
After you read that, you will note all you need to do is move update.zip and flash it (in the guide).
Boom, you have root... now download Rom Manager, flash CWR, and create a backup (also in the guide).
Now that you have a backup of your system, backup your apps (Titanium Backup app), in the guide.
Now, download a custom ROM and flash it with CWR..... I recommend Trigger V2.5. You can go to the dev section and find it, or click the link in my signature to watch a video if you like. If on your phone best to watch the video embedded in his thread so the annotations show up.
there is no quick way of doing this
u need to do some reading
in s15274n click on the "My noob guide" read it, then read the "My Vibrant Guide",
then if u have questions about really specific things, people will help you out.
read lots before u start flashing roms, because it is risky.

s15274n noob guide has all you need, rooting is pretty simple and there are A LOT of videos showing step by step for rooting, flashing a rom, updating a theme etc.... so welcome, after a couple of weeks you will be so happy with the phone it will blow your mind

I read those guides posted by s15274n and others countless times before i rooted, then I read them again. Read them until there is no question in your mind as to what your doing. Read the rom flashing guides as well, as you'll more than likley want to put a custom on on after you've gained root. Thanks to s15274n and the other members who have taken the time to make easy to follow guides and tutorials.
