Turing off voice announcement with incoming call alert and Dutty Rom questions - Touch HD General

Hi,
I have the dutty rom 2.9 on my touch hd. Everytime I recieve a call the phone will only ring once and then switch to a voice announcement of the caller's ID or number. Does anyone know how to turn this off and stick with normal standard continous ring alert? I have searched everywhere in settings, there is nothing obvious that stands out.
Also what is the difference between Dutty's MSVC and CVSD? Which should i be updating with?
Thanks

Have you got Microsoft voice command? The setting for it is in settings\personal.

HAHA, Yes. Sorted now. Thanks.
Can anyone help with the Dutty Rom question?
Is it really worth me upgrading from 2.9 to 3.2? It seems to freeze everytime I try through Active Synch, any ideas why?

You should really be asking these questions in Duttys threads. The reason why your phone freezes during upgrade to V3.2 is most likely because you haven't used USPL again before you flash. All Duttys latest roms based on 1.56+ roms you'll need to use USPL before every flash as USPL is only temporary. Alternatively use HSPL so you don't need to continually have to use USPL, though HSPL is permanent
Links to latest HSPL and also guide on flashing to 1.56 based roms can be found in my signature

What to do, what to do...

As I am reading through the posts in this website I realize that I am not as technical as I would like. I am trying to simply make my Mogul more responsive and functional. I would like to be able to use the GPS with Google Maps, once this feature is available, and obviously I would like everything to look cool.
I currently have the following installed:
ROM Version 2.17.651.0
Radio Version 1.47.01
SPB Mobile Shell
SPB Phone Suite
Opera Mobile
Can anyone offer assistance on what I should do/add next?
the first thing id do is upgrade your radio and get on one of DCD's roms. instant GPS. winmo 6.1 also makes your phone much faster. umm ditch SPB, it slows everything down like crazy and pick up HTC home and HTC home customizer. make sure you have the newest opera, not the beta, its much better. thats what i got for you so far, if i think of anything else ill let you know
In general I understand what you are saying, but I am not sure I understand how. Where would one go to upgrade the radio and get a dcd rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362563
follow the directions here (follow them in order and you'll be ok)
you can get the latest DCD rom here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367574
(just a note to you. these roms that people are making take a lot of hard work and time, and all of the GPS roms are based of a leaked test rom(it's not official from sprint or whom ever your carrier is) so there are bugs and they are working hard to fix the issues. most likely if you have a problem it's been had before so search through the threads for the answer)
ok so let me make sure I understand...
I do these things in this order?:
1. Hard SPL Unlocker
2. Radio 3.27
3. DCD ROM 2.2.6
Is this correct?
Also, will I be able to load other software on top of this ROM?
Also, what is the difference in a ROM and a Kitchen?

switch the radio and the rom placement
(this supposedly helps keep your information intact so you don't have to call your provider and get the Akey)
1. Hard SPL Unlocker
2. DCD ROM 2.2.6
3. Radio 3.27
you will be able to put programs on top of this rom
a kitchen lets you customize the rom before you flash it to your phone

Problems upgrading should be posted under the Titan Upgrading forum. You will get a much quicker response, also you will see this has been a common issue that is resolved in several posts. Use forum search.

Muting sound with g-sensor

Hello,
I have read in other posts that turning the phone over will silence it or mute the ring when somebody is calling. Is this an original feature of D2 or do you need any upgrade? Because mine does not do anything at all, and I have already calibrated the g-sensor.
Thank you.
Yeah interested in this one 2.

Hi there..
Plse advise what rom version you use.
I do use stock-rom on which this feature is not implemented.
would love to have this feature as well,
thx in advance
Kid
I'm too using stock ROM v1.40.831.5 (49069) WWE. It was present as a standard feature...Other ppl pls pour your views...
Thats Funny
My D2 came with stock rom 1.39.404.3 (49068)NLD
and this feature is not standard!!
so HTC actually ships the phone with different features??!!
Does Anyone know the reg-edit or have the cab to turn on this feature
Thanx in Advance
ROM 1.39.405.2 (47382) WWE and it doesn't work!
I just wonder, the ROM upgrade on the HTC website just fixes the stock tab, or does it do anything else? Which version is the one on the website?

Then would recommend to upgrade the ROM.
There are three options for you:
1. Using the ship ROM downloaded directly from HTC web site - should be stable, though can be not the latest one.
2. Using the optimized ship ROM (WM 6.1) from Topaz ROM section - based on the latest official ROM, stable.
3. Trying a new fresh look of a ROM with WM 6.5 - there are possible bugs as this is not HTC official ROM for D2/Topaz
I tried all the three options and decided to stay with option 2 (TESS V2.F ROM) - stable, fast, bug free, with some usefull utilities added.
your rom is OK, the phone must be locked to turn on this feature. You can lock the phone pressing for a moment the "hang" key
Thanks manchinho, you are right. But I don't understand why it works only when it is locked. Surely you would do the same even if it was unlocked? In any case it takes time to mute so it doesn't seem very useful...
Hi!
An other solution would be to use the Touch InCall Screen Tweak application, that can mute the phone when face down, in addition to other useful stuff.

Strange problem in HD2 for 2.10+ base rom (need help)

I have been troubleshooting this issue for some time now and have narrowed down to 'my HD2 unit' which has an issue only on 2.10+ base roms. Apparently this does not affect most users and appreciate any ideas for resolution.
When using 2.10+ base roms:
Receiving calls, the screen blanks off which is ok for calls but when I try to access the phone during the call, no buttons can light the phone except the end call which of course ends the call.
When any other buttons pressed, the button light just turns on for a split second and turns off, nothing else. Volume buttons seemed to work as volume can be changed but screen just remains blank. After the call is complete, the screen turns back on automatically.
Strangely out going calls are fine and do not exhibit this symptom.
What I have tried and does not help:
Different radios (both 576mb & non 576mb versions)
Different HSPL (1.42, 1.66, 2.08)
MTTY, fresh rom install, hard reset everytime and test immediately before any application install
One more note is that my unit was one of the early batches which I ordered from expansys.co.uk but should be from HK.
Thanks in advance...
Are you enabling Tap Time or Screen Sensitivity using BsB Tweaks? If so switch them off and see if that resolves the problem.

Nope. I have been using Topix all the while and tested each rom from a fresh install, no additional apps.
Currently I have downgraded to Topix 1.6 (1.72 base rom) and the issue was resolved

so you've not tried other 2.10 based roms, just the topix?
maybe try another rom based on 210 to see if you get the same effect?

Yes, I did try. in fact originally I thought the 2.10 rom by zenkinz had problems so I switched back to Topix then 1.6+ roms. now I know it is due to 2.10 rom compatibility...

Strange thing is I never heard that before. You say more users experience these problems but at least it was never mentioned in the topix thread nor did I read about it in other threads. Did you ever flash back to stock and perform a task29?
You can check 2 things.
1- Older radios caused problems when 3g mode was set to auto. 2.10 radios don't have this problem.
2- Could be a problem with the proximity sensor hardware or settings. Try to test the proximity sensor by some other means.

Well the stock flash did not work.
Tried to flash back to stock, hard reset
Re-HSPL, mtty, Topix 1.6.4, hard reset
Problem still exists, running out of ideas now...
I had the same problem...-My- solution was...
...turning off the -Face mobile down to stop ringing- feature...
FW-ROM v1.66 -hTC-
I Had exactly the same problems with miris 2.10 based roms. After some requests he built a 1.72 based rom. After flashing radio 2.10.50.19_2 a task 29, Installing HSPL 1.66 and flashing miris 1.72 rom the problem was gone. i also noticed a big improvement in in call audio quality and data connection stability. I am using his new v15.1 rom with the 1.77 base and it is great His roms are available at htcpedia.
Hope it helps

SMS lag issue (not multiple sms loading issue)

i switched out my iphone 3g with an HD2 phone, and so far i like the phone itself. except one thing irritates the crap out of me and makes me just about want a different phone. when texting, or doing ANYTHING on the phone for that matter, and i get an incoming text message, the phone completely freezes up for almost up to 10 seconds. every single time. this is quite irritating and i've searched and searched and searched for fixes to this problem. is there anything out there to remedy this problem? or am i going to be plagued with it for an unset amount of time?
Hi guy!
I remember that i have this "lag" in official ROM with 1.66 base, but now in 2.10 ROM the contact was update and it's really faster!
Wich rom are you using?
thank you for the quick reply. my version is 2.13.531.1
here's the full info of my phone
OS - 5.2.21892
manila - 2.5.20121412.2
rom - 2.13.531.1
radio - 2.10.50.26
protocol - 15.39.50.07U
That's really strange! Because since 2.10 i think that the lag was remove!
Then if you can (and want) you can flash your ROM with a cooked ROM!
(You're on TMO official ROM no?)
If you need help to chose a ROM i can help you!
what effects/benefits would flashing with a cooked rom do? i'm new to this type of format
and yes i am. i've owned the phone for only a week or two.
ah nevermind, i looked it up. they're basically custom roms, yes? so i guess the task would be to find the right rom
Custom ROM included lastest driver and update. Many tweaks or mod are cook in so it's works better than a basic cab!
The good Cook ROM offers you better memory beacause deleted some useless files, so fatser and stable for somes ROM. The HD2 was my first WM Phone (iPhone 3Gs before) i was afraid to use a cooked rom and now i'm addicted!
Only advantage so in Cook ROM (if it's a good ROM)

Yes it's like an official ROM but with some Tweak and mod (like Cookies Home Tab)
Personnaly i'm using
Clean EX ROM and Hyper ROM it's a 6.5.x roms but clean EX do 6.5 roms (like officiel)
6.5.x are more finger friendly

All cook rom are good, but i select for you the most popular and after you will be a "pro" you can chose yourself !
awesome! thanks for the help i'll look through those and try one (or some) out. much appreciated!
ive been having same problem lately when texting. but all this ROM stuff kind of scares me a lil i dont really know what im doin, any advice on installing that stuff?
ok so i've tried to flash a rom about 4 times. couple times with chucky, and once with the ManiLess rom and everytime i get stuck. my phone goes through the 4 color screen, then HTC shows up on my phone with the progress bar (progress bar also shows up on my PC), but after a time, it stops responding and i must take my battery out and turn it back on to recover it. the RUU and the .nbh files are the only two files in the directory. i even tried using a different RUU than the one that came with the cooked ROM, but still does not work.
what could i be missing? i think i'm going to try one more time with a different ROM and see what happens

so far in my experience it's pretty straight forward. you have a single .nbh file which is the rom, then an RUU application that should be in the same folder that launches a wizard and you just make sure your phone is plugged into the PC and synced and it does it all for you. but just so far for me it gets stuck.
here's a video that shows a guy doing it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vh7GAx_lZE&feature=player_embedded
clicks accept twice, then it automatically does it. mine just gets stuck at the HTC screen on the phone
Hum wich rom have you choose?
-So first you HSPL your phone (but you already do that so... go next step)
-second you need to task 29 your phone (clean beforme flashing)(by doolop)
-after you need flash your ROM and Radio ROM (if it's needed)
-And you can make an HardReset (after flashing) because some guys recommend that but i never do this and i never have problem!
And have fun!
So wich ROM? IS it possible that you make a short video?

Why SSPL? HSPL is much better!
i just saw HSPL, and that was the next method i was going to try. i'm going to try the black dse one again. the same one you have. i like the darker theme to it
ok i'm giving up for the night. i have SPL 2.10, so i gotta downgrade, right? i'll look into that tomorrow...i've been staring at this screen for way too long haha.
hmmmm...further research says since i have SPL 2.10, there's no way to downgrade to 2.8 or lower, is there? so i'm stuck with 2.10 until an HSPL is released for it (if one even becomes released)?

Release of Official T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1 )

Hi guys
Received a sms message from T-mobile announcing the official release of ROM update. Check out the Tmobile HD2 site.
Edit:
Installed the update; found nothing new or exciting and now reverting back to Kumar's TMHD2 Touch Premium 2.9 WWE
For those who have flashed 2.08.HSPL to use unofficial ROMs, if you install the official release by USB your 2.08 HSPL will still be intact after the upgrade and you can go back to other ROMs with out any problem. That's what I did by reverting back to Kumar's ROM.

I am curious too about what it is for, it would be cool if it was Windows 7.
I am running Energy Rom, and Radio 2.15.50.14, so I am assuming updating would be a bad idea.
I just got the sms message too - I'm downloading it right now from the t-mobile website.
Figures - I just put a different ROM on my phone - yesterday! hahaha

Still no multitouch keyboard. Is this not possible with WM6.5? I just can't understand why, almost a year after initial release, HTC has not released a multitouch keyboard for WM6.5 on the HD2. Iphone and Android have had it forever, and it makes SUCH A BIG difference!

As so many forum members have said, perhaps for a million times, ROM preference is really an art of matching ones individual needs; I have been testing several ROMs, Energy, Kumar's, Omega etc. and currently find Kumar's ROM meeting my needs. To me Kumar's ROMs seem stable and do not have many programs that the chefs generally tend to add to their custom ROMs. I like my system to be as minimum and as stable as possible so that I can add and customize it as I want.
So the best thing is to try couple of Custom ROMs and see if you feel comfortable with the version of ROM you have installed.
Also, the latest version of ROM (both Official, Custom) are generally less buggy.
For those of us who do not want to go for the custom ROMs, I guess today's official release from T-mobile should be the one we should be upgrading to. T-mobile must have ironed out previous noted bugs in this new upgarde. For the brief moments that I played with the official new release; everything was smooth and working. But as I said earlier, I have now reverted back to Kumar's ROM.
It appears that today's 'Official" release is the same as the leaked release from a couple of weeks ago.
The size of the RUU_signed.nbh is exactly the same size. The date is different but I doubt that means anything significant.
I never got any text from tmo. :-(
after attempting the update, I get 7 vibrations in a row at the tmo boot screen and then it freezes. Anyone else have this issue?
Just installed, took like 3 mins and it runs ok, they added new icons: amazon Mp3, Myaccount, Shazam and T-Mobile Help... my account and t-help icons are useless they dont do anything, still testing, i saw some improvements like faster reading from memory, now when i insert the sd card with a bunch of images, videos and music it takes less time reading them, the only issue that i got was that im unable to run android cuz it gets a weird screen and it does nothing, but if i get some problem i'll post it ok? thx!
what does the update even do?

I just updated to 2.13 the other day, and I put a custom ROM on my phone that I really really like alot since my phone seems to respond better to this one with no small lag. I have a question though, if I update to 3.14 will I loose the ability to put the custom ROM back on the phone or is it safe to update and put the custom ROM back in?
hi,
I have stock ROM 2.13.531.1
i recently installed HSPL3 and radio 2.15.50.14
now my quuestion is will i be able to install the new ROM without any problem? i dont want to brick my phone. Also will i be able to install the same radio 2.15.50.14 after installing the new stock ROM.
Hopefully htc have fixed the sms bug coz everytime i get a new sms my whole phone freezes for like 5 sec. and its really killing me.
thanks guys
