Is there any way to separate the contacts from outlook (email addresses) from the phone book contacts? Because I have lots of work contacts with emails and then my personal contacts (phones) and I want them separate on my list

I have Exchange and a personal gmail account configured in Outlook and when I try to sync my contacts (personal folder), it syncs the exchange one's instead.
How can it be possible?
I have a lot of contacts on personal folder and a few on exchange and it simply syncs the few ones. Indeed, can I make a rule not to have repeated contacts on PPC? Since some of exchange contacts are on personal and Vice versa....

I've managed to sync my personal contacts, but what I wanted to do is:
Exchange: contacts, calendar, tasks and email
Personal: contacts, calendar and tasks (not repeat contacts, if possible)
Can I do It?
When I go to options on WMDC (using Vista), It only allows me to choose one source, and on ASync (PPC), it also alows me just the same....
Having arrived in the world of HD2 from Android, I'm used to my contacts and calendars being merged (for the sake of knowing what's going on) but also kept separate, i.e. Outlook for work, Googlemail for personal. What is the best way to replicate something close to this on the HD2?
Is there a way of downloading all my Googlemail contacts onto the SIM?
I don't want to add all personal contacts into Outlook/Exchange because my office sometimes need access to my account when I'm not around. Therefore do I have to stick with keeping personal contacts on the SIM? If so, it appears the HD2 doesn't allow me to include SIM contacts in the People shortcuts or even add pictures to them. Which means all my People shortcuts have to be from Outlook - which sucks (because I want most of them to be friends and family).
And how do you manage your calendars for work AND personal? Outlook syncs perfectly, but in Android you can mix and match multiple calendars and keep them all separate. Is this possible in the world of HD2?

I understand that Google Sync is supposed to keep my contacts safe so I never loose them.
I initially started of with a nokia 5230, I used Ovi Suite to import all my contacts in Outlook, then I got them to my HTC Hero with HTC Sync. All great.
I also notice I have contacts that where in my gmail account, and I've even linked them with my phone and facebook contacts.
However, if I now login to my Gmail account, I only see the gmail contacts in there, no phone contacts.
I had the same problem. In your 'People' application (Contacts) on the phone, if you hit menu and then export the contacts to your SD card, you can then import them back to your Google contacts area on the phone. This is the only contacts/People area that will synchronise with Google.
After doing that, just go into View under the contacts menu and choose to view only Google contacts. The phone contacts list will still be there just not viewable as you will be loking at Google contacts instead.
I have done this and avoid sync with Outlook as I was getting too many duplicates - all synchronisation now is direct between the phone and Google. I do however use Coogle Calendar Sync between Google and Outlook and it seems to work OK.

Hello All,
I can sync my contacts with my gmail account, but they are synced only with contacts under "My Contacts" list which is the root of all contacts
and if i sorted these gmail contacts to groups like {family, work, etc...) then i can't sync with these groups
so i had to move all contacts from groups to the root list so i can download them to my (HD2, WM6.5)
Do you have any idea or any application to sync and sort my contacts into groups?

All my contacts are already in My contacts to cant be sure. But try exDialer.. It has exContacts inbuild and i like its grouping functions.. might help you..
i set up syncing our exchange server. back in the days with my htc sensation it synced only my private contacts. the s4 synced all public contacts. now i have like 8000 contacts on my phone. how to get rid of them and sync only my private contacts of the exchange server?

i tried to use the workaround, but the whatsapp sync already used all phone numbers, so i also have like 1000 new whatsapp contacts, i even never seen in my life....
the next problem is, the contacts may be hidden, but if you try to find a contact in the phone app, the hidden contacts by groups won't be hidden and it's nearly impossible to find a contact very fast.
that "feature" is really disappointing. i also don't know what to do now? should i start deleting contacts? i'm affraid the sync will delete them in our exchange server. but how to delete them only in whatsapp?
my solution:
- stop sync with exchange
- clear whatsapp data / cache
- delete all exchange contacts with kies
- send all contacts from my old htc phone to the s4
