What version is the best?

Hello!
I'm new here. I'll upgrade my BA soon, so I need to know: What version of WM6 is the best?
Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0 or
WM6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1933 (Build 18533.0.7.0) or
WM6 OS 5.2.2000 (Build 20000.1.0.0.PV.HAT)

Best WM6 ROM (as at Jan 2008)
Hi there, I have used both of the Roms at the top of your list and I find Xplodes to be faster and less buggy and I am sure it uses less power but can't prove it. I think I liked the fonts better in Helmi's Rom but it is amasing how quickly you get used to a new ROM.
One thing is for sure WM6 on the BA Rocks!

how different
what are the main differences between helmi's and explods? i am using helmi's and am pretty happy. i would like to try explods but can't figure out how to get it to take. i can't remember if i have to manually put into bootloader or not. one thing i can say is that i don't find anymore bugs in helmi's rom than i did with some stock roms provided by phone manufactures.

You make a great point, we often refer to these bugs as if Helmi or Xplode put them there, when really they were issues that existed in the software these guys ported to the BA.
Having recently upgraded from Helmi's to Xplodes I can say that an issue I had with fonts in Co-pilot is still there, which probably means it is with Co-pilot's WM5 version running on WM6. The ROM was definitely faster when I first installed it but now I think I have installed too many apps and it is slowing down for me.
I had an issue with my marsware weather panel causing failed boots (needed to go to safe mode, then reset) after a backup with Helmi's version, this issue is gone with Xplodes.
Both versions have inherited the 'issue' with having to turn on wifi twice.
I personally love the task/memory manager in Xplodes version, and the wireless today screen display plug in.
Either Way is so great to have WM6 on the BA.

What about WM 6.1 ROM for Polaris???

Hello guys !
Am very very...VERY noob in this entire "flashing" process, and as such, i cannot use cooked ROMS like you guys do and i was just curious, when is the "easy flashing" official 6.1 ROM going to be released for polaris by htc??
Are there any plans in the first place to do so?

According to rumour, the official HTC 6.1 ROM is due to be released sometime this month.

Yeah, the ROM update is to be released imminently.
I've already got my hands on the official Spanish 6.1 ROM, so keeps your eyes on the HTC website..

Any different with 6.0 (design/video driver) ????

Can you upload it somewhere so someone can check if it contains the long awaited DDI.DLL that might enable the 3D drivers?

@pananza i think you could be dream HTC release improve 3D drivers, they prefere release new phone like diamond or rapahel. It's the law of consumtion society

I DO NOT agree.
Biggest proof: WM 6.1 for TYTN II !!!!
Its the law of respecting the customer (which HTC is doing pretty fairly in it until NOW so far).

After how many complain did they choose to relaese a new rom ? and is she really improve the drivers ?

OK start playing. Maybe a german R1 is possible? Are that releases the official HTC Releases? Why do you get them before the are available on the HTC Homepage? Same as it was with the touchflo 2d?

I was mainly aiming at the fact if it is official or not, do I need hardSPL or not.

the WWE (=WorldWideEnglish) Rom is nothing special. Its 3.13.405.0 so I think the difference to the german Rom is not that big.

I didn't fully try it but it definitely doesn't need HardSPL!
No bugs for me so far:
all hardware buttons working
sliding in camera album working
FM radio not as loud as 6.0 (good for me because it was too loud with lowest OS settings and 10% radio sound )
contacts, calendar, opera, .netcf 3.5, advanced config and wifi working
not really faster than 6.0 (original)

is this also working on german orbit2(Polaris) and whats the difference to their new o2 wm6.1 ROM (browser etc.) ?

HARD spl ...
I had my TOuch cruise (german) reflashed with RUssian official ROM ... I am having some problems with hardware and planning to get it to Official Repair Center in London... If i flash it with this ROM do i need it to do anything with SPL not to lose warranty or i shoild flash it with initial original ROM (which i dont know where to find) ... Please help

My dear .. It is 21054 not 20151. The 21054 is the leatest core. It is expected to be the last one for WM6.1. You can find it in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547314
It has been cooked for other devices and the members are happy with it. It is will be nice to see WM6.1.21054 for Polaris. It will be nice from you to build it.

Yes - I am familiar with the build and sorry for my finger problems with the version numbers
You may be lucky and have some chef cook this sys in, however all of the Polaris chefs (pcarvalho here and tranminhman at PDAVIET) seem to be focussing their efforts on 6.5 ROMS - looking forwards and not backwards.

6.5 - is beta. Most of people prefer using FINAL product.

But beta 6.5 is much better, faster, stablest and user friendly than 6.1 FINAL

6.5 or 6.1 - the only FINAL product for Polaris is the HTC shipped version for Polaris.
All of the cooked ROMS contain bits from here and bits from there - hacked memory, apps converted from other models and resolutions...... on our device it's all beta really.
I agree with Petulinek - don't get hung up on versions. The 6.5 release by pcarvalho is stable and great, as is the 6.1 release from chavonbravo.

Petulinek, tried 6.5... Not impressed very much, but RAM amount is LOWER then in 6.1. Not good for me.

Hi Zillka - I understand what you are saying, but for a lot of work I don't see any of our cooks creating any new 6.1 ROMS, so I guess you have 3 options:
1. use existing 6.1 ROM; 2. migrate to 6.5 ROM; 3. cook your own 6.1 ROM.

cr1960, tnx for advise. I'm actually diging into kitchens and cooking, but its a little bit like "programming". I'm hardware guru not programming-oriented individual. If i can get HOW to USE kitchen (or customise existing one) to build my own rom, i'll share it. itje currently testing Touch-X for Polaris jn WM 6.1, and i'm waiting for his rom.
PS: Not all cooks like to share kitchens. So i have a little choise.

i purchased my hd2 today and i have one question to WM6.5.
a few days ago i saw some good videos about a new wm6.5 build where for example the checkboxes in WM6.5 improved and other small things be fixed. Click here
Is it possible to install this builds without flashing a new rom who has this build integrated? Is there any windows mobile update function?

And you can't even do that unless either it's an official release from HTC, or someone develops a Hard-SPL for the HD2, which is likely to be several months from now....
