original HTC HD Screen Rotation - Touch HD General

i was wondering anyone could help me. when i first got my htc HD, the messaging keyboard rotate automatic. somehow when i reinstall the original-rom due for some reason, the auto rotate was gone. anyone could help me get back the original setting?

Did you buy the phone new? As far as I know, the official HTC ROM never had screen rotation in it for the keyboard.
There are loads of different programmes you can install to allow you to rotate the keyboard:
Gyrator
Flipit
to name but two...

no rotation for stock !

weird or maybe my memory was too bad. anyway i have found a screen rotating soft which was quite good compare to the rest i have tried.
changescreen_inst.
its somewhere on the forum. deleted the icon using explorer from startmenu because this software enable auto startup. now it looks so original.
how ever found it slightly lag on TF3D.

any auto-rotate text messaging programs out there?

Hi, I am the new owner of a touch hd and wanted to know what my best option was for landscape texting and if their was any auto-rotate landscape texting available? even if their is no auto-rotate, can anyone direct me to my best option for landscape texting? thanks
Derrick
Hi !! 24 hours HD owner and I adore it. Actually I found a cool application called Gyrator2 , it switches to landscape and rotate screen depending on how you hold the device ( like iphone ). Check it : http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads
you can try the new GSen from the Touch Pro 2: http://www.fuzemobility.com/gsen-now-enabled-in-more-apps/
you can add individual applications to the list as well but it works on most applications without any need to add more: http://www.mobilitydigest.com/gain-more-control-of-the-gsen-apps-tp2-edition/
I've used this on a Touch HD and it works
I have tried gsen.
At the moment im am using Dutty's 2.1 Extreme ROM and far as i know manilla should work in lanscape too.
Rotating Manilla seems to be disabled in gsen and i read that i need to add some registry keys in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\.
I dont really understand how that keys need to look like to make it work. Does anyone else had success?
Edit:
Just found out how it works.
You could also try ChangeScreen...
You could also try ChangeScreen which is my personal favourite as I find it easier to configure than Gyrator:

Gyrator issue solved?

I know this has came up before but i am not sure if this is solved.
I download the gyrator and everything is fine. However whenever I lock the phone I can rotate the TF3D screen. Once it is in landscape mode, half of the screen is mess up. Is there any instruction to disable rotation when the phone is locked?
thanks for advice in advance.
Same here , I couldnt find out HOW
I'm not sure even where to begin (please use search as this has been solved like 5 times over; not that it was really a problem to begin with, just an issue). But to save you time this once (SEARCH) here's a couple options.
If you want to keep using Gyrator: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448141 (that itself has two different solutions, one applied to probably what you have done and have auto-rotate everything and then exclude certain things and the other is rotate only things which you want rotated (probably better, definitally safer and less buggy)).
Furthermore you can change from Gyrator to Gsen or ChangeScreen(probably better as it's dumbed down and made really simple but still very effective) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488&highlight=rotate
Lastly (not really, I just don't feel like typing more) you can change your ROM to Dutty's as it runs on the new manila v3 which allows for landscape rotation (Dutty's is not the only ROM that has it, so once again, you have choices here as well).

thanks for the info

You need to set Gyrator so it doesn't rotate in the lock screen, manilla should already be disabled but when the phone is locked manilla is not the foremost app anymore. To do this add a new event above Rotate, Edit the event and call it something like Disable (Lock), set the Application to Dialog, set orentation to portrait, set Actions to Rotate screen. Click apply then Click and hold the new event and set it as Orientation and click apply again. This will also stop your email from auto rotating in message view, but if you go to landscape in the list view you can still work in landscape for email and SMS.

I already did so, thank you. But I really wanted to get manilla working in landscape mode with the standard ROM. I saw it working fine with other cooked ROMs but not with mine. The only way to solve this is to flash with a newer ROM ? Or there is a cab to solve this issue ?
New rom
Hi there, I believe your problem stems from the fact that your version of manila does not support landscape viewing. Having tried a few things with varying success, I flashed to Duttys 2.1 rom and am glad to have done so. It's a far superior experience with hugely improved notifications, faster response times, more storage space free on the HD itself and it also rotates manila without glitching the backgrounds.
I recommend you try it
Actually the dealer told me that I would lose the warranty if I flash the device with non official ROM. Also my ROM is not found on the internet ( 1.14.488.3 WWE )
no current stock rom runs on manila v3 and therefore no stock rom supports landscape. In order to avoid voiding warranty, you can flash the rom using USPL (keeps original SPL) and then before sanding your phone in for w/e reason you simply flash back to original rom (by either backing yours up or chances are it's already posted in the wiki ROM section as they have most of them). If you were to send in the phone with a none stock rom, they may or may not refuse to fix it because technically you have voided the warranty (but if you flash it back to original rom using USPL, then they have no idea)

Application closes when screen is rotated

Hi,
I have this annoying problem with my Touch HD. I've used 2 programs for auto-rotating my screen. E.G. Gyrator 2 and MobileMagic. With both programs the application closes when i tilt my screen landscape. I think its a reg setting or a other application that is preventing me to turn my applications. Out of the box it works with TomTom and other stuff but once installed 2 of the above application to turn it blocks
Any body got an idea?

Duttys V2.1 Xtreme ROM uses a new manila format and he has included a Enable Landscape cab for this ROM.
Why not try his ROM?
Out of the box it should only really be turning pictures in Album and webpages in opera. Did you buy secondhand from ebay?
Nope. Just bought it from a legal store in the netherlands. Without any software on it. Then the first thing was install TomTom, tilt the screen et voila rotate!
Do the apps close or minimize? Does Opera still rotate?
More importantly, did you dl and install a color top bar (if so, there's your problem)
Yes i installed a color top bar! Removed it and tada ther it is. Its working again!
Thank you very much!

Problems with Landscape Mode

Hi, not sure where to post this, but I searched all over the forums for a possible solution to this problem I'm having. When I tilt my phone, I wanted it to display in landscape mode during the htc sense tabs, so I applied rotation to them via BsB Tweaks.
Everything works fine except when I rotate when I'm the music or photos tab. As you can see in the attached photos, they don't rotate to landscape correctly.
Is there a fix to this? Maybe I need to change some registry values?
I'm using a TMOUS HD2 with EVO rom. Thanks in advance.
I don't know if it'll work on the ROM you're using, but the attached cab is what I'm using on my stock ROM, and it rotates to landscape just fine, in all tabs, including pics and music.
I have had a similar problem if I exit from Opera 10 while it is still in landscape mode. I have to rotate it back to portrait and then exit. Opera 9 was fine in this respect.
I am running the Tmo stock ROM with no landscape mods for reference.

I'm having the same problem as this, but I'm still on the regular tmous rom. I'm using changescreen_inst_v2.5....everything works great except for the music tab. has anyone figure out a solution to this problem?
use tx_total_landscape that is posted above... i have installed it on stock TMO US ROM, Kumar's latest ROM, NRGZ28 and Sergio76 ROM's. No problems and it works great. If it doesnt rotate automatically at first, just press home when in landscape and it should switch. Only happens to me the first time I rotate the phone after install, after that all is well.

Sense will not rotate but some apps will

Hi all... my HD2 seems to have developed a very annoying problem that I don't seem to be able to figure out.
I think I have introduced it by having both BSB tweaks and Gav's Touch Tools installed but basically all of the rotating sense screens will not rotate. I first noticed this when I was using Copilot and had the software set to detect device settings (for rotation)..... nothing happened. I worked around this by using Gyrator but thats not ideal... I played around with the rotation settings in BSB and Gav's but to no avail... so I deleted all the settings in each.... again no difference.
I tried uninstalling both apps and Gyrator and again, no luck... I've tried different combinations of software and resetting their settings but again no change. With Gyrator installed the screen will rotate but in the case of say the Music player the potrait view is simply split to a side by side portrait view rather than the sliding album art view.
In the album view, again this does not display correctly and appears to be a shrunken portrait view displayed in landscape. In some cases rotation is fine, for example Kimodo Player.
Somewhere along the line I seem to have introduced this problem and removing or installing various rotation apps makes no difference. As a last resort I suppose I may have to hard reset?
In the case of BSB and Gav's I did delete all the rotated app settings, could this be the problem.... even if BSB or Gavs has been installed? Is there anyway I can get back to their default settings?
I am using
Manilla 2.5.2012 and Rom 2.13.531 Artemis 17.0 WWE
(by the way I have searched the forums but couldn't find anything specifically like this problem).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If I had to guess I'd say its to do with registry entries being altered then not put back to default when uninstalling / deleting settings and or conflict between apps affectimg rotation.
Don't hard reset just yet I'm sure toil get an answer.
Think I have fixed it... disable rotation in BSB and installed TX_Total_Landscape.cab from here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=631049
I think it has just reset the registry settings.
