Hi guys,
is there someway i can connect to a network path on my home computer via wifi?
The wifi is all set up, just dont see the option wioth the default filebrowser. thanks in andvanced!
anyone? I just want to acces my pc's files from the HD via wlan
There was a program for that in Schaps roms i used in my HTC TyTn phone and it's called Network Plugin for File Explorer v1.0 (Build 30468). You add there your network folders and they are present in File Explorer afterwards
I think you can connect to a home network resource in the standard File Explorer, but if not, you certainly can in Resco Explorer. make sure you get the share name spot on though!
I used resco explorer on my old Axim to connect to my homenet, unfortunately when i try it with the touch HD it freezes, so i have to reboot
You may want to add a hostname for the ip address youre trying to connect, you could use "Zimmerman pocket hosts" for this.

Hmm, I just used Resco File Explorer to connect to my laptop's shared folders via my HD. Maybe you have an old version of Resco?
it works for me with file explorer, you just have to use computer name instead of ip, for example in file explorer go to open path then type
//computername
funny bevahiour though ...
i'm running resco explorer 7.02, should be the latest right? Entered UNC-path, userid, password, and it popped up with a second login window. Wasnt able to fill out the fields, when i set focus to password it hung - only restart possible.
Ok now i tried file explorer and voila ... the login window that popped up is the same than the second i got with resco explorer ... seems to be some WiMo default login popup. Anyway, this time i could fill it properly, save credentials and access my network devices.
Back to resco explorer, same steps as before, but this time no second login popped up - obviously because i saved credentials before. Now my network devices are accessible with resco as well.
Strange, but it works!
Is it possible to use Internet Explorer as the browser for the Internet tab in Touch Flo instead of Opera?
Sites are opening slow and i rather use mobile sites that show good and fast in Internet Explorer.
Also possible to show Internet Explorer favorites in te internet tab instead of the Opera Bookmarks?
Thanx.
You too can use the search function.

Hello there!
I often get links in email that I have to open from there. Unfortunately it always open in Internet Explorer instead of my default and more usable browser - Opera. Is there a way to make web links from email client to open in Opera instead of Internet Explorer?\
I use the latest stock rom from HTC website.
Thanks!

resco also allows FTP access, which is probably better, as the network share requires you to be on the same network (for example connected to your wireless network)
FTP can be accessed anywhere you have data connection but requires you to be running FTP software on your computer.
FTP is very easy to setup and use and will allow you to have access to any file folder that you choose on your PC (handy to have a choice of over 30gig of music to listen to )
Schaps Network plugin. Google it.
Ftp looks great
thank you
or use total commander it can browse your network share files...

I have Resco Explorer 2010, paid for.
Also Total Commander CE, which someone mentioned.
GSFinder+ as well.
Yet, I cannot figure out how to do that.
Connected to my home network via wi-fi. The PC's hard drives are set up to be shared. One PC can access the files of another.
I can't figure out how the HD2 can see the PC's files. Can anyone give me exact directions, using any of the tools mentioned?
--------------
Also, conversely, is there a way to set up the HD2 for file sharing, so that the PC can access it via the wi-fi network?
I did search "File Expert" as well as "SMB" along with several combinations of those words but there were no answers to my question on this forum. How do you connect the Elocity Android device to a PC on the host wifi network using "File Expert"s SMB protocol?
I tried the Geek Software (the app creators) website which was of no help. Other than a couple of youtube videos, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of instructions for this app.
I want to be able to access some video files that reside on my PC with my Elocity Tab over my Wifi network using a shared folder without having to transfer them. From what I've read this is possible using the SMB feature of the File Expert app.
My problem is that when I try to add a new SMB network through the File expert interface, I have very little understanding of what the File Expert app is asking for. The first box asks for "Server Domain(leave empty if N/A)", the 2nd asks for "Server IP Address or computer name" (which is the only box I think I know how to fill out), the 3rd asks for a "Nickname", the 4th asks for "User Name:", and the 5th asks for "Password".
None of my PCs on the wifi network have logon passwords. I would like to be able to access shared folders on 2 different PCs with my tablet, one running xp and the other running W7.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
wifi file explorer or wifi file transfer both are free in the market..
try ES Explorer from market ist free
ones you open you have to pres menu, show... tap lan and serch for servers
you should have an activated server in you lan to find it
Thanks for that tip about ES Explorer! It was exactly what I was looking for. After enabling the sharing of the correct folders on my PC, I was able to add it as a server by typing in the PC's IP address. After that the PC appeared in the ES File Explorer's interface. Clicking on the PC(server) showed me all the files in my computer's shared folder and I was able to open pictures, videos, and audio straight from my tablet. Awesome! Thanks again!
