Problem with X1 Panels - XPERIA X1 General

Since installing spb3 i was having problems with it eating the battery.
long story short is I done a hard reset on my phone, and reinstalled spb3 and a few other progs.
the problem I am now getting is my 'normal' panels aren't working, and freeze the phone if I go into them.
I have hard reset twice since, and tried to access them without loading the spb3 shell, but to no avail.
what could the problem be, as it's really bothering me having a phone with these great panels.... that now don't work.
the panels I seem to be having problems with are (from internet sourced pics, not my own)

when I try to go into them, the phone freezes, and the only way to cure it is to do a soft reset with the stylus into the wee hole behind the cover.
please help me, as I loved my X1 until all this started happening.
It has only occurred since installing spb3 a few days ago
thanks in advance
Ross

Not too sure on what the exact problem is, but it may have something to do with a few dll's conflicting.
Best bet is to backup whaterver data you need, and reflash the rom so that everything's restored to default.
Sorry if it doesn't help, rmb to Hard-SPL before using a cooked rom!

thanks for your advice there mate,
how could i go about reflashing the ROM? can you point me in the right direction?
and what does Hard-SPL mean? sorry for being a newb!

after softreset... and backup again...
after clicking the "skip" button it continues backing up.. i'm worried that when the time comes and i need to restore my files back it'll give me probs.
can anyone help me with this?
Just ignore the message and carry on. Not sure? Look here http://spritesoftware.crmdesk.com/answer.aspx?id=165&back=browse.aspx#p17
Ok thanks. How come the message appears? Im not using Sprite back up thou, and i haven't installed it before. Do you think i have a corrupted GCounterFile.mmf file?
Can anyone send me the file and will this fix it?
Thanks
No matter what you use, it seems to be normal that this file can't be copied. Perhaps it stays in memory after syncing. Did you try to soft reset your device before you backup? If so, does the message still appear?
yup i did..
I did both soft and hard reset, still the problem persist.
What causes this?
i oftern mess with my XDA2s and use xbackup a lot and oftern see that error massage, but i have done 5 or 6 restores each of witch had the error on makeing the backup, but NEVER has it failed to do a comlpete restore
John
I did a little research and came up with previous version of spritebackup bug. Since i haven't installed it before, i belive this was an isolated case. I came up into conclusion that something from my newly reflashed ROM conflicted or corrupted some files (not sure thou). So what i did was reflash again the ROM, restore my settings then tried backing up again.. Good thing the problem was solved. sigh...
thanks for the replies here

HTC Hermes keyboard problem

Hey, guys. Problem with my Hermes keyboard. It works fine for a while, usually 2-4 hours, then suddenly stops. In the middle of typing. Backlight goes out and won't turn back on. I'm unsure whether this is a ROm problem, (Shnaps 4.00 ) or a hardware problem. As it's only just started happening, as in today, I'm beginning to get fearful of a hardware fault.
Everything is fine after soft reset, too.

Difficult to say if it's software or hardware. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330700
and if it's physical, then it's likely to be this connector that's at fault (Not much dismantling - just under back cover):

Well, been on for a while, and has not happened since I uninstalled TCPMP, yesterday. I have no idea why this is, only that is seems a lot like when the device slows down, and keypresses take a while to come through, and the backlight to activate. No idea.

Phone reboots/shuts down

Hello you all peeps
I noticed some weired things happening to my phone. Sometimes when I want to use my phone I need to put in my PIN, never realised what it was.
10 minutes ago I received a text message, i read it and ploooops, my phone was rebooting out of nothing. After that my phone is working again, but watch this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
There's just a part gone, I know it was there before the reboot. Now i realize that i already had this issue a few times before.
Does anybody know where this strange thing come from?
Oh, I am running Litening rom with CF kernel, not sure if i had this issue before flashing the rom.
I had exactly the same thing on KE7. My phone rebooted itself at least once a day. I tried uninstalling and disabling all the apps I could think of but nothing resolved it.
Eventually, I performed a factory reset which has resolved the issue - it's now been running for 3 days without a reboot.
I had a spontaneous reboot only once - phone was overheating due to well, me messing around :-D
Check if heat is not a problem du to a runaway process
The heat is not a issue since it rebooted too when i didn't use the phone.
I deleted some Samsung bloatware too, perhaps that is the problem. Will do a factory reset, but not for now.
Good(?) to hear I'm not the only one with this problem
Same problem here, but i think it's related with the known bug of "suspend" and events/0 process and there is nothing to do but waiting for a fix :/

Flashing a custom ROM on a ZED AN817DK?

Hey fellas,
I've done some flashing on android before, but only on smartphones, instead of a car multimedia. My model is ZED AN817DK.
It looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The launcher it came with is kinda disgusting, so I installed Nova Launcher instead.
Regardless, the system barely works, even on the stock settings / factory reset status.
Apps are crashing, changing the audio option in Waze takes a whole 2 minutes to even open up the menu for the option
(the app works but the input is unresponsive for 2 minutes until the menu appears).
I've tried contacting the shop I bought it in and they sent me a "firmware" update in the form of an APK file that will not launch in the device. I don't think I saw an option in it's administrator settings or anywhere else to update firmware via file (only check for firmware update - and it's always "up to date").
So I think I'll resort to flash a custom rom on this. I'm a bit worried since in the scenario where things go wrong I rely only on a pen hole style reset button which I don't fully trust to reset successfully if a custom rom is installed.
Is there a general flashing guide for these devices? How safe is it, as in what are the chances of completely bricking the device?
Are there general or common roms that work well on these devices?

Hi, try to factory reset your phone.
The phone was resetted before selling. I have done another reset after i found the problem but it did not fix it.
Maybe i found something, some one have the same problem and the fix was re-flash persist.img, but i haven't understand.
At this point i have to read more on this persist, and maybe root the phone or try some custom rom.
I'm a bit upset but for 240€ (after a 25% refound for the fingerprint problem) is a good phone without the fingerprint feature.
Can someone provide me a good persist.img from Nothing os 1.5.4?
I have installed another boot.img, rooted the phone but nothing is working
any luck friend? I got the same problem
I have the same problem lol, now I can not use this function
I don't know if my device is going into this direction lol but the fingerprint recently is acting up.
