Phone becomes LAZY (Coreplayer) - XPERIA X1 General

Hi
I have a quite big and annoying problem that I hope I can get rid off...
When I listen to music through Coreplayer (version 1.3.0 6213) after a while, maybe 20-30 minutes the phone becomes lazy.. for example when entering the settings (personal, system, connections) the icons does not shows immediately, insteand I see the icons one by one... I have tried many ROMS but I still have this problem..
maybe Coreplayer is the problem but the RAM usage is normal and even when the phone becomes lazy the usage is still around 40%... and even after I close Coreplayer the phone is still lazy and I need to softreset to get it working normal...
so I wonder what the problem is? (maybe I will try a WM 6.5 ROM and see if it works better but I don't have time atm) atm I'm using itjes Touch-IT 7.1 Lite + SPB Mobile Shell 3.0...
thanks

at the moment, I've noticed that coreplayer isn't really 100% stable on the Xperia.
Sure it's had improvements, but I think windows media player works just fine =].

windows media player sucks big time, it's not even near of what Coreplayer can do thats why I don't use it, for example, when switching track with coreplayer I don't need to enter the program to do it, I just do it with the "next" button, and it have more fetures... anyone know another program similiar to Coreplayer that works with xperia?

Coreplayer is a media player and not an audio player. Sure, it can play music, but it's like wathing movies on your in-car gps, it can be done, but it's better to use a pmp... Use one of those:
Pocket Player
Pocket Music
Mort Player (the best)
Winamp for Windows Mobile
S2P (pretty good)
Cheers

It's a well known issue w/ Core Player > 1.24. That's why I still stick w/ 1.24.

you could just wait for winmo 6.5 to come out.. if ever.
Or you could flash a custom rom with winmo, from the "Titanium" homescreen, you can change songs by swiping and tapping.

Best mp3 Player for JJ

Can ppl please tell me what mp3 player u r using that works best on the JJ (good sound, VGA support, no trouble with closing and power)
MP3 Player
Use TCPMP, it can do even more than just playing MP3's (Video)
Cheers

I use PocketMusic Player... I think it's the best that I've tried...
You're not gonna have any luck with anything that will accept button presses when the lid is closed - I get the impression this is something the device does in hardware (or OS). It's a bummer - I know...

Maybe you didn't try TMPCP (freeware, formerly aka Betaplayer). I had PocketMusic Player installed and purchased before.
TMPCP is just superior and e.g. supports *.avi files (Movies)
You can find it here

I think Pocket Music Bundle is nicer to use as a music player though, has a few more options and nice tweaks here and there, and it works well enough on the JasJar despite a few display issues when browsing for files.
That said, I've uninstalled PMB and am currently using TCPMP, largely because I'm waiting for proper WM5 software to come along, and in the meantime I'm keeping software to an absolute bare minimum.
Pocketmusic has much better sound. And thats all tht matters to me
TCPMP gives out very good sound if you play about with the equaliser.
(I'll conceed that PocketMusic may be slightly better though, so when they update their software, I'll be there!!)
I have PocketMusic Ver. 3.7 installed on the JASJAR. It works OK.
But I prefer TCPMP anyway. Problably a matter of taste.
And as said above, you have to play with the equalizer of TCPMP to make it sound good.

Why does Windows Media Player forget its place?

I find that although I like the WMP when I reopen the program it has often forgotten what song was being played. This means I have to go back into the library to get it playing again.
Is this a problem with my os?
Is there a fix to this?
Other programs like Pocket Music don't seem to trip up in this way (although it does in other ways... don't get me started!).
running OS- O2 mini s- 1.5.4.102
Nevermind!
I just found TCPMP!
Works great! No errors yet.
I was hoping to get WMP up to scratch, but it always seems to fail somehow.
TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) has been flawless so far. Hate to use more space but it's worth it for something that works that well and is free (opensource).

Which musicplayer do you use on the HD?

I am curious, which player do you use and which is the best on the HD (no D-Pad). Which player makes the HD a real competitor to the iPod Touch / iPhone (in playing music).
I Like the Pocket Player. Nice Browsing through albums, many settingoptions, nice design.
I use the HTC one, it works and sounds pretty good ..
Coreplayer .... many many threads and posts about this ....
I'm trying out Pocketmusic (seems OK so far) as I can't get the TF3D thingie to work with more than a handful of tracks loaded, and anyway it seems a bit of a toy compared to what I've used before (pTunes on PalmOS), and it doesn't support .ogg files.

Btw, do you have any idea how to setup the fading in core player? you know, fading, so that when a song terminates the next one starts with 1-2 seconds overlapping, so it doesnt have the silence break..
thanks,
ionutz
Pocket Tunes is very good.
But, they don't have a WVGA skin yet. One thing that I found to be useful is the good bluetooth handling they have and the redirection of podcasts to a mono headset.
Regards, D
you also have Kinoma Play. Excellent as music player.
GSplayer old but very good
Ive been using the TF3D-player up until yesterday when i installed Coreplayer.
The sound and equalizer is much better in Coreplayer.

But i think an intuitive interface is also very important. i like the interface of S2P but the coverflow is not very smooth. Currently i am using pocket player but i hope there will be some good ipod-like-mediaplayer soon.
TF3d music tab sounds way better than Windows media player..I just got coreplayer...I may start using it if the sound quality is better.
S2P for me!
As for me, I use S2P! I've been using it since it first came out, when I was using my "old" Touch. Now i've got the latest OpenGL S2P from A-C, and love it,think its a great player, and would recommend it to anyone.
But I do understand that everyone has their personal choice,so if u're looking for a music player, try several and see what suits you best!
I'm a huge MortPlayer fan, it plays my ogg files perfectly. The new beta version is MortPlayer 3.31 b76 which comes with a skin made for the HD resolution Highly Recommended.
I use "conduits pocket player". Amongst other things, it has the features I most want from an mp3/media player. The most important features for me are; The screen turns off at a configurable time, it has a configurable sleep timer, It pauses for phone calls and resumes playing on completion. I can control the pause and rewind (volume up and volume down buttons respectively) from my pocket. I think it is a great player.
I use HTC TF3D sound...
I'm testing Pocket Player - and so far I'm liking it. I just wish the default skin was nicer. So far I haven't found any other skins that are wvga and have the functionality + large cover photo like the default skin. And I wish you could navigate in full screen mode.
I tried the iPhone looking skin found in the xda forums, but the album cover is still too small (for my taste), and that skin doesn't have the functionality of the default skin.
So far the TF3D player and Pocket Player are my favorites (I've already tried all of the other ones on the poll list above). We'll see which one I end up using more often.
I used to use S2P but am happy with the HTC one, links up with my BT headphones and sounds quite good.
No winamp on its way to WM 6.1?
I am using MortPlayer for all music playing, it even wakes me up in the morning (that was the reason I started using it back in WM5 times: it was able to "awake" my HTC Wizard, while the implemented clock was not ...)
But MortPlayer is much more than this, it is easy to listen to live audio streams, MP3, OGG files and to create playlists or run through folder collections. A great player, indeed!
Eriol
TF3D - simple and good audio quality. Composing playlist is somehow difficult because you dont see the full ID3 info. Loading takes some time when you have many audiofiles and to say the truth .... i don´t have soooo many - about 1-2GB only.
All other players have one problem, i have to start them, they don´t look as cool as TF3D and aren´t so user/thumbfriendly as TF3D - except for Mortplayer carscreen.

Sony's Media Panel - you know the one

Ok - Using several different ROMs I have found the one that suits me the best - I have one nagging problem - videos that previously were played in landscape full screen are now chopped in half and being played via portrait??
So my question is what / where is the media player that is being used on that panel - I want to see if I have options to change the view setting - or ifs it just windows media player then i give up.

maybe not a custom rom issue but more a media player issue ! working with an original/std factory rom & it is so crappy that i know use core player which is really better ! we are multiple people having concerns with the sony media player (xmb panel)
the panel files are under /program files/panels
im using itjes rom as well, reinstalling mxp fixed most of the problems.
have you tried playing your vids in windows media to see what happens?
i forgot to say, opening mxp as a standalone using pubbas doesnt work, so there might be something else going on, when i get some time ill take a look.
Well they play landscape in media player but it looks like crap- plus the touch controls on the sony media xper thing are much better - i have looked in the panels and the other location but i dont see anything that i can look at or set - - so with jacks rom the panel plays perfectly (once you install it) but the one that i want to use and like is the touch one - but the panel just has that one flaw - i have tried to uninstall and reinstall the panel same thing.
I've encountered the same problem and uninstalled the media panel alltogether. I think it relates to Itje's "experience" ROM, as I didn't encounter the issue before installing it. With another ROM the problem might well be solved; just tinker around with it a bit.
Thanks for the replies -
Just installed coreplayer - works well enough - still miss my touch screen menu overlay on the video - but Its worth it on this ROM that works better than stock.

Jinxed - Starting the New Year with a Hard Reset

Hi,
After a month of using Xperia, having applied tweaks and installed custom apps and add-ons... i believe it to be the best mobile ever!
Alas! today i set out to accomplish more on the device. I installed various applications including; HTC Home and HTC Home Configration, Conduits Pocket Player, Mort Player, Flip Side (Great Player but extreme resource hog!), and a couple of other things. As you can imagine, i was looking mainly for an alternative to WMP for playing mp3s. I use CorePlayer for movies playback, but need one for Mp3s...
Any idea which one might have caused the problem...
Best Regards.
Well... it was most definitely HTC Home + HHC. After hard-resetting, i installed it again. And voila! the device fails to start up again.
Am hard resetting again...
Hey i've killed mine twice in the past 24hr, thank god I managed to re-flash it
That will teach me to try to hack out a custom rom for myself, although my phone has just booted now, with :-
Touch-IT Experience 2.2 No Panels, just wanted TFL3D (Good Basepoint, thanks itje)
20931 XPI (ain't managed to get the SYS folder updated yet )
Updated Manilla and other blackstone apps from latest blackstone rom
Changed pagepool to 24mb

Hehe... i didn't flash the rom with a custom one... like the Panels and performance was awesome after tweaking. I like TF3D but only as another Panel and not just the only one.
Windows media player can play MP3's
If you install G alarm it installs the MP3 codec into windows media play. Windows media play will then pick up and play your Mp3 files and display there album art, which is nice. WMP nows plays everyhting well apart from midi files, which play at an appaling quality. Dont forget the update libarary option in media player to scan for files
Down load these midi file, play it on your PC, never has so much passion, & emotion come in such a tini music file, hope you like ! Then see what the X1 plays them like.

Of course Media Player can play MP3s... why wouldn't it? And i even got Album art working with it... but i don't want to use WMP but am looking for a better alternative.
I have an iPhone and to me the iPod player on it is awesome. Flipside provided similar functionality, but too slow and buggy to use. I am keeping my iPhone as an iPod touch so will usually use that for music, but i won't be carrying the iPhone with me all the time and thus wanted some great program for the Xperia to playback music as well...
