I have to re-install my WM6, but first I have to consult with you guys... be cause I don't want to ruin my phone
When I am about to install new WM6 on my device... Do I have to find drivers for my phone? Or the WM6 will automatically recognize all the components within my phone? Like when installing WIN n desktop PC, it recognizes various components...
Please, tell me (step by step) how to install WM6 and drivers (if needed), I am really a complete rookie in these kind of things...

Hi All,
I need help urgent. My dopod can't syn with Pc after i successfully upgraded to ausdim's Rom! Right now,i can't install softwares, can't connect with pc. I want to use other Rom but since there is no connection so i can't do anything.
Already try every possible ways(disable firewall,Hard reset,Uninstall/reinstall Active Syn4.5, tried with activesyn 4.2,Retard the Pc....) But unsuccessful...
Drivers is all good as there is no yellow "!" mark in the Device Manager. (Yes, i can syn my HP 2490 WM5 with PC)
I think the problem is the Rom itself.
Please help me, I do not wish to bring it to repair center as it too far away from my house.
You may still be able to reflash the ROM using an SD card- look for instructions in the WiKi (you may need to look in the Hermes section, but the procedure is the same)
already re flash another rom "PDAVIET" but the problem is still unsolved!

You can't use RUU on vista with the built in drivers unfortunately.
There is a thread (search for it) and you will find out how to get it working.

Upgrade is done with the old activesync drivers ... thats why i hate vista, you have to do a lot of stuff to reach your goal
I conferm that the rom upgrade never worked on my pc with Vista. I was forced to use my laptop with Xp. I think someone should make blueangel update utilities compatible with Vista too
Or just keep an XP virtual machine in a safe place
i will post the steps for vista upgrade later, because i am lil busy

I upgrade my ROMS in Vista using this method and it works every time.
i will made guide with pichtures but it will be after 5-6 hours , because i only have time at night

Kerio, your wiki is very good, but my device only be in bootloader mode, and, although the vista recognize my device, the program that i'm using do not run the instaler. It be only in the first screen and do not able to get informations about my device.
My device is only with serial and v 2.08 in the screen!!!!

Try to remove SD from your device b4 do the flashing.
Thats right SD card should be removed before flash (device may not go into "USB" mode when "cradled")
However I have made PICTURES and added them to the wiki (they are quite big and it doesnt look very well) but will improve it later

you can search the forums for how to flash roms... there are so many different ways to do it.
If you have ActiveSync in XP or Mobile Device Center in VISTA.. and you are able to successfully sync your phone with your machine ... all the instructions you need are included with the Rom download. Try reading the directions.
I will help you, what kind of herald do you have, CID lock yes or no? Which provider?

When you hard reset your PDA, and then connect it to your PC with activesync it will ask you to setup a new activesync session. Cancel that process and it'll be connected to activesync in guest mode. If you go to the help options in your PC for activesync and search on Guest it'll go into slightly more detail.

oh yea... i got the original tmobile wing with the original rom. 4.10.531.3 wwe im tryin to install one of those tmobile original rom with touch flo. ima newbie so just tryin the simple til i get better at all this. dont wanna brick my phone

what I want to know is, how to install a newer version of O/S in this device, what to do and how to.. im new to this, i would need some help..
what would be the first step if i want to reload or load a newer ROM?
how would i install the operating system, where can I get the WM6.1?
thanks.. please help me, the problem is that my device keeps hard resetting itself on random ocassions.. sometimes when the bluetooth is turned on it goes off, etc etc.. its pretty unstable at the moment.. so i thought i should install a newer operating system.. right now i have the windows mobile 6 in the device.
In short, i want to re-install everything.. and also upgrade to 6.1... was reading the wiki.. there is no where mentioned as to how to re-install? :S im sorry im new to this..
Reinstalling
You have to follow the wiki, it is very clear. To install a 6.1 ROM you have to download it from the forum (replace the nk.nbf file from the wiki with the downloaded one). I use Sundream's, but there are at least a couple more.

Yeah you see, when I go there.. it asks which o/s im currently using, i already have wm6 installed.. i just want to re-install.. can you people just write in steps.. i will look at the wiki for the details.. just the minor details.. what has to be done.. step1 step2 etc..
just put your BA to bootloader mode, connect the cable, then execute the BA Upgrade Tools and wait...done
Same steps
Follow the wiki as if you were upgrading from WM5. That wil re-install WM6. If you want to upgarde to WM 6.1 do the same but replace the nk.nbf with a 6.1 ROM from the ones in the forum.
