New great dialer

Here is some new dialer. I like it a lot. Especially in car.

It's more comfortable than original one.
T9-like search of contacts from dialer itself. Dial any number from contacts with 4-5 finger taps max.
Quickly accessed picture dialing.
Changable skins.
Only things that lack are - quick access to call history and to new note.
But the developers promise to add soon.

Looks really nice. Good alternative to Finger Clix which I have already purchased.
Unfortunately, it can not map to the default green phone key - probably not possible at all unless you replace a system dll.

Excellent program JaToAc but it is a bit slow to load once you press the green phone key. I am missing something or is not possible that when you enter a number directly to be able click somewhere to store the number as a new contact. So far I have not been able to do this with any of the dialers I have tried. Any info would be appreciated.

you cant do it with both dialers (adding a number from the dialer)
but phoneplus is the best dialer there is today.
mobidial is too slow and not using quick search for contacts, which is really dumb cause it does the same thung the default does (so why buy).
i bought the phoneplus and really enjoying every second, plus the writers of the program are intending on improving it a lot.

Silly question but what is T9 dialling?? I have seen it mentioned lots of times here but I have no clue what it is.

Dialing with your contacts woth the keys of a normal phone, so for the b you press the 2 and for the a you press the 2 again, for the r you press the 7 and for the t the 8. Then you can call Bart...

REQ: Dialer which I can use with Fingers?

I am looking for a Dialer for Windows Mobile 5 that lets me dial contacts without the use of a stylus or without having to use the pushbuttons - just the touchscreen.
Basically I am looking for something like this - but in either english or german.

You should use Smart dialing.It's default in wizard.

I have a Wizard, but I dont know SmartDialing...screenshot anybody?

AFAIK smartdialing is just an add on to the original phone app that lists contacts that match the nubers you have diald already. It doesent make it any easier to acctually dial the numbers. I dont use smart dialer at all, it was just in my way most of the time. So last time I did a hard reset I then followed with a soft reset at the "your device will be customized in 3 seconds" screen and then installed all the CAB's I did want manually.

I have tried almost all types of smartdialing from default one to third-party software and i strongly recommend you to use the followings:
- Imagine Finger Clix WM5 (English version)
- Inesoft Address Book
They are not free but the biggest advantages of these software are that they both allow seaching contacts with two clicks thanks to wise T9 system and they are super fast with beatiful skin
Give them a try and you would never disappoint, especially inesoft address book (don't forget to accept assigning inesoft to hot key when setup)

When you use smartdailing, just type in the name from the person you want to call and smartdailer looks it up in your contacts. This works like T9, for example push the numbers 665754 (or less when it allready in your screen) to call Molski. With this tool you don't have to know the whole phonenumber and you don't have to go to your contacts for calling.
I hope it is al little bit clear how Smartdailing works.....and I don't want working with out it any more!!

seems nice, but in what language is the beta?

This is Russian; but he stated it is multilingual so I think actual app is in english.

some letters are in Russian; no icon to exit and no setting ...

Indeed it seems to be set to russian encoding by default. You can exit the app by pressing central Dpad (ok) button.

You can change the settings by editing the config file. The config file however is in azbuka so it is a no go - lets wait for somebody to translate it to english.

Use cfg a file for settings.

So what's new:
New contacts editor - you can add or edit contacts (deleting is not implemented yet). Contact can be added by context menu under the unknown phone number in the call list or the context menu under the "phone number" item i the contacts. Editing is enabled thru the contact details.
New Today plugin that allow to run yrgo like on the today plugin. It is not exactly this - the Today plugin checks whether it is shown and then it automatically activates yrgo. In this case, if you press the "Red HW button", it will force you to the Today screen where rgo today plugin activates yrgo. Lot of users was looking for similar behavior. This option is disabled by default and you have to enable it manually - go to the "Settings->Today->Items" and there disable all today plugins and enable just yrgo plugin. That's it.
New gadgets:
Contact - allow to create an unassigned icon on the desktop where the contact can be chosen later (in non design mode) by clicking on the icon. The contact can be then changed any time by the context menu under the contact.
Write SMS - the same behavior as the Contact gadget
Application - the same
Settings item - the same
So expected "simple upcomming appointments" gadget - is on the bottom of the gadgets list
Simple tasks - also on the botto of the gadgets list
New system of searching long lists (introduced in the last beta) was improved so it should much better now.
The bluetooth Gadget now switches between On and Off only... the Discavoarble is accessible thru the context menu.
"Snad to grid on/off" option for the design mode.
In the settings the contacts search behavior can be changed: yrgo may search in all information about the contact (address, email, etc.) or just in the name (to improve the performance).
long tap on "0" in the contacts allows to write "+"
In the settings the option of disabling "Message was sent msg box."
Some changes in the SMS so I should be shown to you correctly (but I haven't tested it)
I did some change in alarm gadget so it shouldn't show you incorrect data (you have to test it )
Maybe also something else

[APP][WM6.5] MySettings - easy access to control panel items (old settings panel)

Here's a tool that allows direct access to the Windows Mobile Control Panel entries, designed primarily for version 6.5.
Older Windows Mobile versions provided the Settings panel, but that was recently hidden, so this app covers the gap.

I figured this would be useful for those of you that can't find the Owner name panel, or the Input configuration screen, it uses very little memory as this is a native code application (no framework required).

This group is usually displayed first in MySettings interface. It contains the most important functions
like: Password, Owner information, Memory, About, Screen,
Input, Sounds Notifications, Remove Programs, Menus, Buttons, Today, Beam, Clock Alarms, Network Cards,
Regional Settings, Connections, GPS, etc.
From here you can configure you Owner name information, required for registering other third party applications,
you can configure your Today screen plugins and enable/disable Today screen itself or you can configure the installed keyboards
by accessing the Input option.
Usage
The MySettings interface has an intuitive design: select a group to access its content.
You can press Back / Next to change the page or simply slide over horizontally. To select an item, you can tap on it, or press the Enter key.

A friend who searched his phone after updating it from WM6.1 to WM6.5 and who already asked me about this missing feature said to thank you! He's a happy camper now!

Hi Senax,
I had some issues myself, configuring the Owner name on some newer ROMs. Some registered programs don't work without that info correctly configured.
Good thing there are solutions to this kind of problems

When I try dowloading the cab I get this message. "File dowload failed. The requested header could not be located." Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I found the problem to be with Skyfire. Used Opera and the program downloaded fine. The problem I have now is it will not load; I get the message "A problem has occurred wiht main.exe". I removed the program and then downloaded the program through my PC and got the same result when executing the program. I need this user information for other applications, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does this work with WM 6.5.3 ?

You can use this one for 6.5 and put the links whenever directly into the home as quicklinks
