Does anyone know if there is an application that just turn on/off the bluetooth?
So I can set the holding of the dialer button with this app.
Thanks

Ciao, Andrea
use the search botton.
I have just that application but it isn't what i want.
I would hold the dial button and activate/disactivate bluetooth, unless an interface appear.

Try this. It simply toggles bluetooth - on/off
Then go to settings/buttons and link it to ToggleBTh. This exactly does the job you have asked for....

Any ideas on how to get the light button working on a jas-jar. Mine has not been working since the start and I've tried everything. The button Im talking about is the first from the right close to the infrared port on the outside of the device. It is supposed to turn on the flashlight but when I press it nothing happens and it doesnt even show up in the buttons applet in WM5.
Actually that button doesn't turn on the flashlight, though some here have tried to come up with a hack so that it would. I don't know if they were ever successful with that.
That button turns on the screen backlight when it has timed out but your device is still turned on. It's not the most useful button, which is why folks were trying to come up with a hack to make it more useful, for instance to turn on the flashlight like you wanted to.
Maybe if someone has had success, they will chime in here.
Change the button
Attached is a cab file allowing you to make use out of the light button to anything else
When yuo say anything else, does that include controlling the flashlight? Either way, thanks for the file.
Would be nice if one could assign it to turn on the keyboard backlight.
There is no option to adjust the sensitivite of the light sensor for the keyboard, and i think that it kicks in way to late.
Find my self holding the finger over the sensor and hitting a button to make it light up.
Any one aware og a possible Reg Hack to make this option appear in the Assing Button list?

why dont u just change the option in the settings\buttons\backlight and take the tick off the box, and it works like a charm. everytime u press a key it lights up, sorted, and it doesnt affect the battery at all really
@Elmo
Well i didn't use that choise because i don't have any car charger yet. (Waiting for the Brodit kit)
I want to preserve as much battery as possible.........as you already know, this baby can eat your battery pretty fast............

Is this the same as changing it manually on the registry?
Yes, it's my CAB file I posted a little while back that adds a registry entry so that you see it listed as "Button 5" in the Buttons setting applet.

Isn'it available for the Wizard too ? ...
I wrote a very simple script that turn on the camera and press the flash button.
I use the flash key and ms voice command to start it
you need to have MortScript installed. (include with this package)
A very simple question from a new owner -- where are the buttons defined that are assigned in Settings - Buttons? I don't see them labeled as "Button 1", etc in the User Manual.

On your HTC Universal, go to:
Start>Settings>Buttons
From there you can change the assignments of the buttons.
Ok. I have found the 2 keyboard keys that are buttons 1 and 2, and the 2 external buttons that are buttons 3 and 4.
I must say that button 1 is not very useful for voice command, when the device is closed. I guess I could assign it to button 4 or button 5 with the registry hack.
On the supplied "headset", there is a microphone with a button on it.
- What does that button do?
- Is it possible to use it for Voice Command?
(I guess for that to happen, it first needs to be recognised as an assignable button in WM5).
The backlight button cab file is working. Now I can reassign that useless button becomes the OK button. Very useful when use it in the tablet mode. But I need two more buttons to use for the softkey. I have use the record button for the left softkey and have no more button for the right softkey. Any suggestion?
One more thing, the script for enabling the flash light does not work. It turns on the camera, but the flash light remains off.
A question for someone more technical than I:-
I've just installed the very useful Hitchhiker. What I want to do is remap the Comm Manager button above the volume slider so that, when I press it, instead of launching Comm Manager, it switches on Wi-Fi and launches Hitchhiker.
Does anybody have a tweak for this? Preferably a cab as reg fiddling is beyond me.
Thanks.
It will be easy to set button 5 to hitchhiker, just go to settings\buttons and it allows you to change button assignments there. To have wifi come on at the same time one possible way is to have button 4 do it - click wifi on, click (hold) hitchhiker on.
Use vjvolubilis to get one click wifi on see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46947
hope that helps
Hmm... I might try "click button 4 for wi-fi, then hold button 5 for hitchhiker" for a bit and see how it goes.
Thanks.
Remap Hold Button 5?
Are you able to change the hold funciton on Button #5, the Comm Manager button? I saw that you were talking about doing that, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do this.
I tried adding another folder in the Registry that related to the Hold function to 5 but I'm not sure if I set it up correctly b/c it's not working--it still only has the switch between virbate and normal modes of sound.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Everyone,
I would like to disable the redial capability of the green talk key on the front of my Mogul. Specifically, I would like to avoid accidental re-dials when my Mogul is bouncing around my briefcase. I have case for my Mogul, but it doesn't protect the talk key. Therefore, I simply want to disable the redial capability of the talk key, but still (hopefully) be able to answers calls by pressing it.
Any ideas?

Use a program to lock like S2U2. I would not do that reg hack to my phone.
Just turn on the keylock from your control panel. It'll lock all buttons except for the power button, but the call button will still work for incoming calls.
I'm with you. I would like to disable the redial also.
I'm currently using the 'lock' function and VJDeviceLock to automatically lock it.
S2U2 has 'holes' in it and I would still get redials. Plus it is a bit of overkill for what I needed.

Yes, that works, but for me the danger is after I've hung up and am still using the pda functions... one false double-tap of the green button and it's star-69-ville.
Before i upgraded to rom 1.6 I had a cab that enabled me to bring up the comm mangager simply by holding down the left soft key (call button). Since the upgrade I'v searched all over this forum but cant remember which thread i got it from. Can someone kindly point me in the right direction.
Also, while looking on google, i discovered that holding the send button during a call toggles loudspeaker on and off. I'm loving this phone more and more. (apologies if this tip has already been posted.)
You can make the "long send" key run anything you want. Simply create a shortcut to comm manager (in this example) in the windows folder, and then rename it "long_send".
As I said, you can do that with anything
Just in case you didn't know the long press send key toggles speaker phone on/off by default. If you assign another function to it you will lose that speakerphone shortcut.
Just FYI... /TubGirl

Good point! I just put the phone face down on the desk if I want to use the speakerphone, so it's never been an issue to me.

Really? thats just changed everything. I'd rather have my newly discovered speakerphone feature than the comm manager. thanks for clearing that one up.

Hello everyone.
Last time my touchscreen stopped working. I figured out that every time i use 'end call key' my touch screen is not responding.
Question : Is it possible to switch key fundions? I mean... for example i want to make 'home' key my 'end call key' and vice versa. And if it is possible then how i can do it?
Check out Button Savior. I don't know about remapping hardware keys but this can give you software controls to get around it. There are also a tonne of screen lock widgets that could work, and some ROMs even have it built into quick settings on the notification drawer or the softkeys on ICS+ ROMs.

There used to be an app called button remapper on the play store but I can't find it now!!
Well anyway you can change the button mappings by editing the kepad layout file in /system/usr/keylayout/ folder.
Their will be a few their so you will have to figure out which one to edit for your rom.
Mine is htcleo_keypad.kl.
You will need a root explorer to do this, just open with a text editor!
Make sure to write down the mappings before starting then you can swap them about.
I am not sure but I think the power button isn't changeble but you can assign power to another key.
Ah, I was wondering if I had just gone crazy because I thought I remembered an app by that name but I couldn't find it.
