R2aa010 very slow after return from se - XPERIA X1 General

Hi everyone,
I've had my x1 in for repairs at SE that took 5 weeks. They have updated the ROM to R2AA010.
Unfortunately, the phone has become increasingly slow and has even developed this problem with TWO battery indicators at the top. This has happened when I've reinstalled software that I had previously on my old x1.
Its very annoying as I'm performing my 3rd hard reset tonite, I only got the phone back yesterday!
Kev

Try these tweaks 1 and 2 on this thread to boost performance of ROM 2.
Turbo Speed ROM 2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503250

Flash it yourself with your rom image in pavels thread....
An the hard reset....

Cheers, I know there must be many threads around for flashing a rom, I have never done this before. Does anyone have clear instructions on how to do this?

Try to soft reset your phone. That might do the trick

That was going to be my next suggestion
One thing though, why don't you just re-flash the radio rom. I use 1.13 since I found it to work somewhat better in my SX66, I have read however of people who have had great experiences with the 1.15. Your choice really.

Problem is, if it's as he suggested the ROM, flashing just the radio, is going to be pretty pointless.
And a fresh flash will clear everything, and let him start afresh.
soft reset
wasn't soft resetting like I thought, reset with the reset button and it worked, contacted the previous owner and he had the same problem when he had WM5 installed and thought the problem had gone away but I had not. Now All I have to do is get the blue tooth to stay connected, on e problem at a time.

Problems might be solved by wiping the original rom and install MoDaCo's 1.5 one.
I have been with these problems for days and after install 1.5 rom from MoDaco, everything goes fine again.
The fact proves they are not hardware faults.

I'm offering an alternative to those who are unable to get warranties or relunctant to wait for a new but probably another unreliable phone set.
You may ignore this if you are confident to get a new phone without extra cost.
Seen as there is meant to be an official update coming from HTC sometime in the near future I'm going to hang around for that, if one fails to materialise then I'll start using one of the custom ROMs.
Having said that, everything currently works on my Hero. And so it should, it's only 5 days old.

If you can reproduce the fault by going back to the stock state (and hopefully get the LED/Headjack faults again) you have proved that there is a software bug in the phone.
i never had any doubt it is a software thing when a simple app, Toggle Headset, bypasses the 3.5mm jack problem, and that problem is always present and simultaneous with the LED problem :/
you don't fix motherboard problems with a widget, so it obviously isn't a motherboard problem :/

If the problem is reproducable by flashing the Hero back to the original ROM and waiting a couple of days får the problem to reappear it's 100% confimed. But so far this thread is my best hope that HTC really knows of the problem since [email protected] apperantly "fixed" it...

Problems? I've installed 4 different versions and 3 radios now, no issues at all! Its usually people who don't follow instructions who have the issues.
Official is available on MoDaCo's website, you can try that.
As for warranty, make a nandroid backup and you can go back to stock and re-do recovery partition easily.
Comfirmed. Updating to latest Version fixed the issue. I just restored a old nandroid backup and problem is gone... Weird, as i was expecting it to be there..will now flash back to latest version... still unsure if i should go about getting my phone replaced...

THIS IS JUST A THEORY!!! I REPEAT THAT IT'S JUST A THEORY!!!
I have a friend who has a theory why a hardreset doesn't fix it:
It's because HTC shipped the phones with a factory configured image wich might have differed from the ROM mage flashed to to phone in the first place. When all of us had to do our first hard reset the ORIGINAL ROM image replaced the factory configured image which apperantly contained software to poll the headphone jack to see if the user put a jack in there. That software DIDN'T exist in the flashed ROM image.
THE ABOVE IS JUST A THEORY!!!

dont worry about invalidating ur warranty, just make sure you do a nandroid backup before you flash , any issues or need to go bak to stockrom just do a restore!!

As far as i know it does change it from 2.08 to 2.10. so i recommend you do some research before installing this update cause as of now i don't think there is a way to override 2.10 to have hspl.
It's just the 2.13 ROM, from what I saw on the download page.
In this event: The WMobile OS version is the same.
Ok so I installed it, I then read where people said it was twitchy and such and....well it is. My clouds no longer glide across my screen, they now twitch across my screen. I'm downgrading back to 2.10 until 2.13 is better.

Touch Screen Not Responsive
My issue with the new version is that the touch screen is flaky. I have to swipe my finger harder to move from screen to screen and push harder to get the characters to work. Went back to a cooked rom.
No more touch response issues
I re loaded the official rom again and voila, my touch senstivity issues are gone....I am not sure what else got changes between the first release and the official one(18th May), but I am not seeing the touch sensitivity issues..its smooth and am able to click on the x button without any issue...
im having touch problem and connection problem it keeps loosing service and serches for service, i didnt have this problem on the old rom, is there anyway to fix those without going back to the old version?
Please see the general forum for the fix on sensitivity:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683192
As for the Radio, in the 2.13 version the radio was updated, so yes you may have different results from different radios in your area, please see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669733&page=3
for your answer on HSPL, yes 2.13 will overwrite it to SPL 2.10; however if you re-install 2.10 then it will re-write the SPL to 2.08, and then you can re-install HSPL....
Topic to General please...

I hard reset and then also reflashed the ROM, still had the same issues. I liked the menu's to "bounce" when I hit the top or bottom and scroll smoothly. I applied all the registry edits and it didn't help much, like I thought it did. My Sense weather was very twitchy and it really bothered me. I downgraded back to spl 2.08 and my 2.10.531 ROM for the time being. It is much better now, I never had any issue's to begin with so the update seemed pointless.
Looking at some custom ROM's right now.

Did you try this? better than the original one they put out? I'm wondering why it's the same version number. Seems like a good way to confuse people.
Supposedly there were issues with downloading the originial release, so they had to correct that. But, the version they put up is the same one as before.
I've got all 3 "versions" of the new ROM now (leaked, first official issue, and this new one now too) and they're all the same.
Confusing? Yes. Big deal? Not really
so basically this isn't going to fix any issues? you downloaded it and it's the same everything? Why would they bother?

Well yes it's the same as the first release of the 2.13 ROM if that's what you mean. I think they just put it back up because there's people who didn't get it before they had to pull it temporarily for the downloading issues. I assume it'll stay available there from now on.

I used the First release and still have it on my computer at home. I downloaded the leaked version and it was a godsend. I hear when they made it official on the 18th it caused people a lot of problem even bricking. according to the link they where having server issues and that is why they had to pull the official release but I guessed they fixed the issues now. It is the same ROM version as the one I have so your guess is as good as mine. I think sirphunkee has them all downloaded but has not implemented them and is still running 2.10xxx

Correct, and I should have made that clear...still on 2.10, haven't flashed any of the upgrade downloads.
Somewhere in one of the threads in this section about the upgrade, the leaked version and the first "official" releases were compared and found to match bit-for-bit. Also, T-Mobile forums had confirmation that the recent re-release is identical to the one they put up before the download issues. So, by the commutative property of Windows Mobile Mathematics (WMM), they're all the same
However, that's not to say that the end experience from those who have flashed any of the three doesn't vary greatly. Some report a near-magical cleansing of demons, others are suddenly needing an exorcism...and this is across all three "releases" of this ROM.

I forget where I read...but a lot of people where having issue when the flashed to a custom rom then flashed to the upgraded tmobile rom with out returning their phones back to stock. I guess that was a major issue. Or people had to factory reset then run the upgrade I didn't do either of those things when I flashed and it worked great. I mean I didnt have CHT or Editor on but I did have a bunch of apps.
I bought my HD2 last week and the rom it came with from the factory is 2.13.531.1. I have had the phone freeze on me 2 or 3 times in the week I have owned it. Even though the rom that was just released is the same version would it still be a good idea to flash it? I am coming from a G1 and on occasion have flashed a rom and the phone ran like crap. Then upon re flashing the same exact rom the phone ran like normal.
I upgraded last evening, despite my initial trepidation.
Everything seems smooth now--a lot of the hiccups when texting seem to be gone (out of order texts, highlighting of last text sent and lag when trying to write a text that is part of a longer thread).
Swype is working a 100x better.
So far, so good.

That happens with winmo as well as android....after flashing a ROM, sometimes either a re-flash, or an immediate hard-reset is needed to get it to "stick". In fact, most chefs recommend doing a hard-reset right after a new flash, just to be safe, and I've seen numberous times where a buggy install is fixed perfectly just by doing that. So, if you're fine with the effort involved, I would certainly suggest it...it certainly can't hurt
Cool. Thanks for the info sirphunkee.
Software Upgrade or ROM
I downloaded the update from T-Mobile and have it running on my HD2. Was this an update to my ROM, so a hard reset will reload this update? I talked with a T-Mobile rep on the phone who said a hard reset would remove the update and I would have to re-install it.

No, a hard-reset will only "reload" whatever the currently flashed ROM is...whether it's an official update or a custom ROM.

SM-N9005 GPS wierd issue!!!! Works but doesnt work!!!!

Hi guys id love input on this one if anyone's got anything as it baffles and frustrates me...
I have a SM-N9005,
im signed upto galaxynote3root.com
my note 3 ran to perfection once rooted and updated to 4.4.2 va the polish rom that came out since im in UK and couldn't wait for the update hehe - still ran to perfection -
I then flashed a ROM from galaxynote3root.com (I now HATE that zedomax guy since he has not input or suggestions on the matter despite a courteously written email etc) it was "infamous ROM" (which is supposed to be for SM-N9005 but when installed all T-Mobile bloatware is on it and then model displayed in the about settings page says "SM-N900T") flashed it and installed trickster MOD, (didn't check or even think that the GPS didn't work at that point) I then set the voltage to offset -25 as instructed by zedomax for better battery life etc... anyway, my note 3 couldn't really handle the change in voltages so I went back to stock (or what I thought was stock since I didn't check the default voltages before changing and I don't know what they are) after deciding... I actually hated the ROM and flash all the way back to stock
GPS NO LONGER works - ill explain exact symptoms etc
GPS icon flashes - notification displays "searching for GPS" and........... that's it.. forever.... never locks...... and whilst using the GPS and using google maps in this state it constantly says "GPS signal lost" - and that is literally it. I have flashed at least 5 different stock ROMS from different countries/carriers etc - nothing always exactly the same
NOW... here's the weird part!!!????
Once I flash the Infamous ROM back onto the phone - THE GPS works....... no idea how - but I feel that it doesn't QUIET work as well as it did before (takes a little longer to lock but still around 10 seconds) and the locator on google maps seems to drift a LITTLE where as before it would be perfection no drifting no nothing.
Does this rom use something else or some change in the conf files to supposedly make the GPS "better" but actually makes it worse!!?? lol
Being a techy myself and constantly plying with tech from waaaayyyy back this really frustrated me as clearly it cant be a hardware issue since it works on one ROM but not on stock (unless as I said the infamous ROM utilises a different method to lock GPS... which is NOT better and I don't like btw)
I sent the phone into O2 for repairs and since the knox and counters were tripped they sent back unrepaired stating they cant fix as the engineers found there had been "unauthorised rework" done on it
it has to be software right!!!???? but if that was true.... the stock ROM SHOULD work.... but they ALLL don't.. makes NO sense.
If anyone has any suggestions or input at all I would greatly appreciate.. potentially more!!
I would like to figure this one out too I'm on the Verizon note 3 SM-N900V stock 4.4.2 and the GPS sucks! It was perfect on 4.3 so I know it is definitely a software issue. This is the best phone I've ever had and the worst GPS. Hope we can find a fix because I rely on Google Maps a lot.

perhaps I didn't explain myself... its not because of the ROM update.... the GPS and everything was working to perfection on 4.3 and 4.4.2... it only stopped once id flashed the infamous ROM and then back tot he stock 4.4.2 roms.... now the only way to get GPS working is by flashing and using the infamous ROM

so yeah... did that.. doesn't work
thanks for your suggestion though kind sir!!
What happened here is the same thing that happens when everyone installs the s5 port and when they revert to their stock rom they f*** up their GPS, since they initially installed a wrong firmware for their phone. Easiest way to solve this is to install that infamous ROM again and turn on your GPS. Then in recovery dirty flash stock note 3 rom (dirty flash... i mean don't do any wipes what so ever) and reboot. You might be able to boot it or basically go into bootloop. Then afterwhich do a factory reset in recovery again. Once booted up you should have your GPS back. There is another method here about flashing n9005 wifi/nfc and stuff files. I just can't find it. But do a search it will come out.
try this
go to recovery
full wipe ..(partition system , data, cache ) ..system partition needs to be wiped
if you are using philz then do a new rom wipe which also wipes system partition
reboot to download mode and odin flash stock samsung note 3 rom ( do it twice to make it 200% sure ..lol)
download gps status and reset ur agps data and download new data from the app
And apparently service centers have to prove that your rooting/flashing 'broke' the phone.
Maybe a grey area but apparently European legislation says so?
So threaten O2 with this?
Try GPS Status and in tools check/update agps.

Enter root folder and open up etc>gps.conf using text editor and change LPP_PROFILE to 3 instead of 0.
