It has the same zoom in and zoom out option like on the iphone. Double tap=zoom in or out! I love the new htc album but I haven´t seen a .cab for it yet!
haven't seen a cab for it either. suggest you go for a rom upgrade to dutty's v3 xt ship instead, it'll get you a lot of other good features as well, together with the new album. well worth the effort.

I prefer the old way to zoom in and out. Small circles are tighter zooms, larger circles are lesser zooms. It gives you more control. You can hold the HD with one hand and zoom with your thumb.

I've seen that HTC Touch's contact manager is far superior than one on Polaris (WM6 original) is there any chance to get it installed on Touch cruise?
http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=7JgaJXJBNbA&NR=1
Thanks
What the... It definitely looks better, especially the animations. The Polaris version uses the WM version with the random access (e.g. A to Z on the right of the screen) which isn't very handy in terms of NOT using the stylus.

Exactly that's why i love to replace the WM version...
Looks like PocketCM Contacts
You kind find it here http://www.pocketcm.com/contact.php
Also, pocketCM Keyboard is a must... works great and looks nice too
Plus, all of this is free (but you can, and will, donate to support this talented developper)
You mean that the one on the video is not an HTC application but pocketcm?
Does pocketcm has all the scrolling (IPhone like) features?
yes
At video are PocketCM i think ...
If you look at the notes (information) next to the movie, they also say that it's PocketM, so I think they mean PocketCM. If you look at the pocketcm website (as given by t.fabien), you see the same interface. So good luck installing pocketcm, since that's what you need

Nothing bad, he's just wishing you good luck.
As anyone experienced problems installing it on Polaris? that wish scared me a little.

Has anyone gotten the chance to compare PocketCM with Vito's FunContact?
http://iwindowsmobile.com/contact-manager.html
i tested pocketcm and it works great ;-) It has a few color styles: black, white, blue, grey.
and it has also nice features like the sms history.

Installed both the PCM Keyboard and Contact on my HTC Touch Cruise and it works flawlessly with a lot of options. Install smoothly(used the CAB) and quite a lot better than what comes with the original ROM.

Trying both on my 750, I think FunContacts is alot more polished an application than PocketCM. I also found less issues with device locking with FunContacts. Since I am running a trial of FC, I get that little splash screen but otherwise it loads quite quickly. I only have a 100 or so contacts.
Is there a way to have 4 days forecast on the weather tab like on the HTC HD ? It would be great, current weather could be see through the windows and i don't like to use the left softkey
thanks
a picture to illustrate
I've the same problem
I guess we have to wait for an newer manila version...
Too lazy to press left softkey... Mankind is doomed.

Wouldn't it be as easy as grabbing the TF3D plug-in from the HTC HD and putting it on the Diamond ?
Sure. But without the HD ROM Dump - No Chance....
No, it's possible and we did it actually, but HD is widescreen, thus other-day forecasts are almost covered with tab-bar, so it needs modding anyway...
Would like this too, even the QVGA TF2D has it:

It's a shame this TF2D is only for QVGA device, it's quick, with all the tabs we need and must be lighter in memory than the 3D one...
I could imagine that HTC will add some of these features to a future rom update of the diamond and the pro...
If not, they suck
I have seen many images showing the infamous iPhone's "Slide to Unlock" and wondered which application this was? I can only find a program that is more than 12 months old.
Not that I want to copy the iPhone, but the security code entry on the HD is simply ghastly and very "Windows Mobile"!
Also, a better calculator would be superb!
S2U2, by A_C, in the "Developement & Hacking" Section is your best bet!

HiCalc is the best that I've come across so far.
HiCalc doesn't work on the HD so far - problems with the resolution! I've already contacted HiCalc's support about this issue. Maybe if many people contact them, they will prioritize support for the HD?
Regards!

If you're into RPN you can give my YaRPNcalc a try. It will already work in portrait mode but only use the top 640 pixels. I'm working on improving it for the HD now (because I now own a HD myself ). It's certainly not as powerful as HiCalc, on the other hand you can use it for free
A while back this cab was floating around from a samsung install, its piscelbrowser, and nearly the best IMO, but its not friendly to our new screens
The icons arent sized for vga and its really hard to double tap zoom due to the pixel count going up 4 times a qvga device. Can we get a repack with these issues ironed out? Bigger icons and a larger double click area?
Edit* I forgot that this file cannot be shared, am i right?

That's just a task manager. There's a skinable one for WM whose name I can't remember right now, but it's been discussed on this forum recently. Since it's skinable, you can make it look however you wish.
but
I look at mobile reviw thats part of new sense for android
The new version of HTC Sense features several nice touches - a more detailed screen with contact's personal information and his activities, plus the new Sense's main attraction, new screen transition system.
I don't know how it's implemented on Windows Mobile phones yet, but on Android it works like this. What you are at the home screen, pressing the Home button calls the Screen menu allowing you to pick the one you need, which is pretty convenient, but there is one flaw to it. The phones that were featured at HTC's MWC booth made that window pop-up only when we pressed the button while staring at the Home screen. If we happened to be looking at Music, Weather or any other section of the phone, punching the Home key got us back to the Home Screen and that was it. I feel like this feature must work in any place around the UI, and I hope that it will.
from mobile review MWC2010. HTC
taskfacade
Android home screens are customizable and can only be switched one by one which is why the helicopter view might be more important. You can fly with the slider bar on WM Sense so it makes it less useful - plus it'll be difficult to get all our tabs in that Expose-esque view

Actually that's not a task manager, thats the new pinch to zoom homescreen that zooms out to let you select the home screen. It's called leap, see demonstration here

But that's such a massive downgrade.
Lose 0.6" off your screen size, lose WinMo6.5.3 (which is better than Android imo), and lose your NA 3G coverage (assuming you're rocking a T9193).
I will say that at least HTC finally smartened up and started putting flashes in their phones. My buddy has an HTC Hero and the only complaint he has about it is no flash.
To be honest, I ordered one and will sell my HD2. I lose 0.6" screen size and one camera LED, but I gain Android.
Since I'm in Europe, I don't lose 3G.
I've used Android on an old Samsung phone for some time, and I discovered that I simply enjoy using it.
Despite that this phone is awfully slow and has a very small 3.2" screen, I find the experience to be much better than the one I have with my HD2.
Thus, I'm getting a Desire.
(I'd buy a Samsung Galaxy S with 4" screen, but I want at least one LED for the camera: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/23/samsung-announces-galaxy-s-android-smartphone/)

Same thing.
Taskfacade has nothing to do with that... except that it looks similar, but totally different functionality.
