Hi, is it possible to create a app that will just contain a link to mobile website (bookmark of some sort but an actual app). So when users click on the app on their devices they are taken directly to my mobile website. I know there is google app inventor but I couldn't find tutorial on how to do that. Any idea?
Yes, an app can either launch a url which will open in the phones browser or you can put a webview(browser) inside the App.
do you know if I can find a tutorial on how to do that? How do I make custom app icon and so on?

The icons you need to make in a graphics program and output them in the required sizes, go to the official android dev site there are photoshop templates and everything.

Its not that had to do with app inventor. There are two ways. One which will launch the defualt browser to the site (easy) or one which will create a webview inside the app using a third party app (hard). I made a youtube video on how to do it the browser way a while back. It takes about 5 min. Then another 10min if you want to put it on the market. Both vies can be found on youtube by searching cmoney12051

Hi guys, could someone please recommend a good working app for football/soccer highlights. I've tried using stock browser as well as other browsers to view highlights but would prefer apps instead. Found some like the Goal TV app but never seem to display the video on screen. I would very much appreciate it if someone could recommend a functional app. Thanks
Use browser to go to ESPN3.
Does anyone know where I can get the notes widget for sense my 4.0 rom. It comes with notes preinstalled but lacks the widget. I really really want it and I have looked everywhere and I can't find it. I have tried taking the apk from other roms but it says application not installed when I try to install it.

From what I saw, Sense 4.0A's Notes is a wrapper of Evernote (shown in the Account section as Evernote for HTC Sense,) but apparently incomplete as it lags behind the official Evernote app in terms of features, one of them is the lack of widget (Evernote has a dedicated widget app in Google Play, but it works with the official app only.) Different ROMs' apks probably based on different versions of Notes, thus they will not work in your ROM.
either stocks weight ,i think your ROM is sense4a port one V.if you really want notes weight, you can flash sense 3.6

It depends on your Smart TV. If it's a Samsung some have BT for use with an external mouse and keyboard. Those that don't you can connect via USB (or use a wireless keyboard that comes with a USB wireless dongle). You can also use your SGS4's keyboard via the SmartView app from Play. Keyboards only work on Samsung controlled parts of the TV interface. They aren't recognized by a lot of the third party apps accessed via Smart Hub.
When you're setting up WatchOn, here's a tip. Don't go through the device set-up process. Instead, make sure the TV and your Samsung mobile device are on the same network and hit the icon shown below. It allows WatchOn to show content from your TV within the app assuming your Smart TV supports it.
This is all meaningless if your Smart TV isn't made by Samsung.
Thanks my tv is samsung, what im trying to do is... for example, watch youtube, and using the search, use my phone as keyboard instead of using the remote pressing the letters 1 by 1. Not sure if that made any sense... i set up the watchon but it doest have the "keyboard" function i was looking for.
RIght now im doing.. seach it on my phone then sync it to the tv-_-

Whatever you're trying to do on the TV has to be keyboard enabled; most non-Samsung apps don't support outside keyboard access and require you to use the keyboard that's provided within the individual app.
Here are two examples. The Web Browser and Samsung Apps support the Samsung keyboard.
If your phone has Smart View installed and is connected to the TV this pops-up whenever the TV's keyboard pops up.
The YouTube app doesn't support the Samsung keyboard so you have to use whatever's provided in the app.
Thanks for the detail explanation.

WatchON's pretty much useless outside of the TV function if you have a Samsung Smart TV. Smart View allows you to control all the other functions and Smart Hub including allowing you to use your device's keyboard vs. the onscreen keyboard. That's what OP was asking about.
Watchon with Cyanogenmod
is there anyway to get Watchon working and installed on Cyanogenmod? I have the APK, says not installed. help!!!!!
Watchon integrates IR remote with your tv program guide (if your cable tv is supported)
for youtube, I used to use youtube remote... an app by youtube to pair your tv and play the videos.
with recent update, that functionality is built in youtube app on the phone. in the app select "Play on" option and you can add your tv to the list.
No. Won't work on AOSP as is (would require major 'rejigging'/porting to get it to work if at all), requires Samsung framework.

Hi
on my fire 10 there is an app (mobile observatory) that does not show up in the playstore.
However when I get the apk from another source it runs fine.
I would like to support the developer by buying it in the playstore, but I can't as it doesn't show up - I assume because sonehow it is not considered compatible.
Is there any tweak I could try on my rooted device to make this app visible for me?
Many thanks.

Unlikely. Once-upon-a-time one could emulate different device types via simple build.prop tweaks. The play store has become more sophisticated using a unique 'fingerprint' to identify device type. Almost impossible to spoof.
