I use michys roms and in settings he has a program called subdisplay which toggles this on or off.
I think there is a way to do this in the registry as well if you search subdisplay

When the cover is on, can you see the number of messages and missed calls in that little display that you can see without actually opening the cover?
Please say yes.
Thanks.

Thanks, I know the physical way, but any software tweaks or shortcut ?
I dont think so it is possible with software tweaks as this is a hardware feature based on magnetic action.
Stll u can try hklm/services/subdisplay..
need to hack subdisplay_dll.dll
Thanks for pointing out the registry file
Subdisplay and WorldMate
According to the manual, the subdisplay is suppose to support other info such as weather when WorldMate is installed. I purchased WorldMate, and don't see anything different when I slide the volume... anyone see any other info other then time/date GSM provider, battery and music? Anyone else installed worldmate and used the subdisplay?

This is interesting. I guess I need to RTFM myself. I'm curious if anyone else has got this to work as well.
Is it possible to move your start bar to the bottom. Also can you map a button to open the start menu?? Like the key on the Apache and the new HTC models??

I think you would need something like WAD to move the Start button. Do you have SoftKeys installed? This maps the left soft key to Start.
Thank you I'll check it out. I've been working on alot of HTC phones lately if you know anything that could be helpful with the HERMES it would be greatly appreciated!!

Not too sure about the Hermes, I have an 8125 (Wizard). For the Wizard SofrKeys is a must have app.
I'm looking for something that will alow me to program my wing so that when I slide in my keyboard it executes a program kind of like how keyboard sounds makes a sound when the keyboard slides in and out. Anyone know of anything like that?
yea i can help u out.....in one of two ways....
first......search the ppcgeeks.com forum for tiermans sliding sound pack...im pretty sure thats it....
second gimme a little bit and when i get home ill post either the cab or the link
this app changes the slide sound if you wish and allows a program to be executed
Did a search there for "tiermans sliding sound" and "tiremans"... only thing to come up is some rom for the titan.
k...im home ill try and get the link if i cant find it ill post the cab k.....
You happen to know if it will activate the program as the keyboard slides in? What I'm trying to do is have something that can activate vjtoggle when I slide in the keyboard to hide the start menu
r u having a problem with the vertical scroll bar popping up when you change from landscape back to portrait?
heres the app: http://tiermann.net/index.php?optio...cle&id=2:slidesound&catid=2:PPC Apps&Itemid=2
here it is......gotta give props to tiermann for this one.....

You just need to do some cleaning. The answer is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1399157&postcount=16
Yeah...
In my past search I didn't see this post....
When last week I opened my tytn to see the keyboard, I thought how to clean the contacts, but when I saw the white plastic layer I was discouraged (I'm afraid of to line it up after cleaning...).
However I think I'll try!
One question: can I use a drop of contact cleaner in every disk (it is fastest)? Or is better to scratch every disk with... something?
Thank you everybody!

You can try contact cleaner. A very fine emery paper can also be used. The process is a bit "hit and miss" I'm afraid and could take a few tries to get right (which of course means assembling and disassembling a few times. If possible do not completely remove the white layer and peel it back slowly so as not to stretch it. Try also to keep it free from dust and any liquid chemicals you are using.

In effect the problem is that the white label doesn't stick more if contact cleaner goes out of the disk...
The same for dust....
Uff holy patience.........
Good work!!
With a little of patience and the keyboard is like new!
Thanks!!
Does anybody know if it's possible to turn off the phonelight with the button to the right?
You usually use the on-button on the top of the phone but I think it would've been easier to use the button you hang up a conversation with. (just as you are with HTC HD2).
Hoping on a .cab or a positive answer

Yes, that is the TD2 Tool to install.
Then install the enclosed Kbd controll program. Its pretty intuitive, just keep short press as default and set your long or double press to Boot manager.
or..... you can use SSMaHo to map a shortcut from manila home screen.
As far as instructions, you'll have to read as it is too hard to explain in brief.
One thing you will find is that the left soft key is locked for editing in most ROMs.
You can also set it to a softkey in the registry in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila;
LSK, RSK (left and right soft key path and text)
