Has anyone got any links or games for the titan.
Many thanks
Check out Pocketgear.com or Handago.com for a large list of PocketPC programs, including games.
Astraware is one of my favorites for games as well. I like their board game and solitaire game packs. Zuma, Text Twist, Word Mojo, Sudoku, and Platypus are also good ones in my opinion.
Real Dice as some very nice card games that can be played against others online, which is kinda cool, though it is hard to find players at times.
Sorry... you asked for links, here's links to the sites I mentioned above:
http://www.astraware.com/
http://www.realdice.com/games
Also check out this site: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
I can't judge on the quality of anything there, but it does have one nice attribute: FREE.
EDIT: No longer needed, forum mods have resolved.
PS. Have you looked into Shadows of Legend I think it's called? Apparently it's a MMORPG you can play online from your windows mobile client. I just came across the website today and will download it onto my PC and load it onto my titan when I get home to see if such a thing actually does work. Lord knows I have hours to waste at my job on downtime and would love to fill some time in with a solid RPG. It's also free but you have an option to purchase credits or something for additional things? again not 100% sure how this exactly works will read more on it and post a review at a later date in case this is of interest to anyone on the site. Happy hunting and if you find some really good games let me know!

There is a giant thread at ppcgeeks, with free and paid games. Here is a link:
Games
Here are the games I have and really enjoy so far. You can find these easily by Googling them:
1. Legacy: An absolutely amazing Wizardry-like role playing game. You can have up to 4 characters of a variety of classes and the view is quasi-first person. You go through dungeons, caves, wilderneses, and towns. There are shops and NPCs and side quests. The game is massive and there are official expansions and player modded expansions. Really a wonderful game if you like FRPGs and one of the few games I have actually paid for.
These guys have a new game called Quest that is Legacy but even better, with aclhemical and crafting rules and better graphics.
I cannot recommend Legacy enough.
2. MBroPoker: A disclaimer, as the author is my uncle, but this is a great 7 card stud program against 6 other AI players, each with differing "personalities". The graphics are a bit fuzzy on the cards, but you can change them to letter reps (for example, AH = Ace of Hearts) and it looks much better.
3. Leo's Flight Simulator and Leo's Space Combat Simulator: People are still amazed at how much stuff Leo packed into these programs. The Flight Sim is a full blown Flight Sim, and you had better know how to work one to have a chance of not crashing. Includes all sorts of weird aviation accurate stuff like radio freqs, talking to the towers, etc. Has scenery for New York, San Fran, and WW1 Paris. Has over 30 types of planes, including towed gliders. has settings for time of day, cloud cover, thermals, etc. Amazingly complicated.
Space Simulator is a space combat game where you are the pilot and have missions to blow up enemies using lasers and missiles. Less complicated than Flight Sim. Neat sound effects too.
The big problem with both of these games is that there is no documentation in the programs. You have to download the PC versions and then they have documentation. Even then, the author is Italian, and the documentation is in English but not the best.
But if you have the patience to test these out (and if you have Flight Sim experience for the Flight Sim) these are awesome.
4. Pocket Humanity: Civilization on the Pocket PC. If you like Civ, you will enjoy Pocket Humanity. No...the graphics are old school (ala Civ 1), but the play is decent and you can have a huge world with up to 17 AI!! All the nations are present, the techs, many different types of units, Wonders, everything you would expect from a turn-based Civ-like game.
5. Pocket UFO: An almost exact port of Xcom UFO for the pocket PC. Excellent graphics, wonderful unit encyclopedia. No instructions...so you need to essentially download the manual for the original Xcom game. Not too hard to find this in PDF format. Xcom is routinely voted the best PC game of all time, and so this being an almost exact port...well draw your own conclusions.
6. Pocket Conquer and Pocket General: These are shareware, though the free portion is entirely playable (you just cannot change settings). Conquer is Risk. general is Stratego. They play EXACTLY like the boardgames with some setting mods if you so desire. They play well and are very well designed. When I get tired of the free mode I will pay for these...they are that good. The AI on Risk is very accomplished against a human player (against the other AI they don't do as well).
7. Pocket Uno, Pocket Racko, Pocket Parchisi: These are by the same develo0per and they are all excellent. The Uno is better than even the commercial Uno pgoram put out by the real owners of the game.
8. Pocket Millebornes: I love millebornes, and this is the best program I have found for the game.
9. Trip Yahtzee: Best freeware yahtzee game I have seen. Allows up to 2 players.
Other games I have not played enough to comment upo but they look promising:
Creatonia: A very detailed RPG.
Crimson Fields: A tactical turn based hexagon wargame with many scenarios. Looks very nice.
Regards,
Devin

I've done a mini review of the amazing shoot em up style game NOVA on the Galaxy Tab. Copied the text of the Blog Post below, FULL post and youtube Vid can be found here: "bilal-mobiler.blogspot.com"
I'm a new user so I can't post up links in posts! Otherwise would have put it all here..!

N.O.V.A HD. – Next Generation Gaming with the Samsung Galaxy Tab
The 20 man (and-women!)-strong team of Samsung Mob!ler’s have each been gifted a Samsung Galaxy Tab and we’ve been putting it through its paces over the past week or so. Our first task has been to check out the gaming potential that the Galaxy Tab has to offer, and I’ve focused this post on N.O.V.A. - the outstanding 1st-person shoot ‘em up style game from Gameloft.
I must say from the outset that I framed the Galaxy Tab as a mini-computer/multi-media/internet/email/phone sort of device, i.e. not something I would play games on so much; maybe just some basic freebie stuff. However N.O.V.A has surpassed my expectations and blown my mind open to just what the Galaxy Tab can offer.
Display
With graphics and gameplay on par with (if not greater) that that of a PSP, the Galaxy Tab and N.O.V.A make quite the match. Bringing back memories of the classic N64 Goldeneye, the game comes alive on the Tab’s 7inch TFT HD display. It runs smoothly with no lagging or glitches. There’s an ominous storyline throughout the game, and you get to watch a series of videos and radio messages as you follow the story of a retired marine called back into duty following a surge of alien invasions.
Gameplay and Controls
Whilst there is a degree of repetition throughout, N.O.V.A makes for a challenging and entertaining game. The controls are intuitive, simple to grasp and really put you ‘in to’ the game. There is a virtual touchscreen analogue stick that moves you about and the direction you ‘face’ can be controlled both via the touchscreen (anywhere on the screen) AND controlled gyroscopically with the Tab’s accelerometer. This means you can look around the game environment by moving the phone up and down and literally point and shoot the bad guys. With buttons to fire, reload, throw grenades, switch weapons as well as well as a host of other interactive (and customisable) features, N.O.V.A can really suck you into the game. With the gyroscope in full action you’ll look like quite the crack –pot playing this on the train or bus, but just think how much fun you’d be having at the same time!
Extra features
There’s various little extra ‘bits’ to N.O.V.A that begin to explore just what potential gaming on the Galaxy Tab could be like. Whilst these are not fully developed, they show a lot of promise. Some of them include:
- There are mini ‘hacking’ games, which are essentially little puzzles that you work through and unlock ammo/progress in the game.
- There are some cool features where you have to interact with the environment in a really intuitive way. This could be sliding an arrow to make the lift move, or spinning/moving parts of the walls/doors to open them. I guess you have to see this live… Check out the video!!
- Multi-player mode – Connect over wifi and play death matches with strangers across the world or just play with your friends over a local network! This is an amazing facet to the game, very fun and very addictive!
Conclusion
There’s a lot of ‘wow’ factors to N.O.V.A, as I’ve advanced through the game it opens up various new tasks, weapons, and ‘missions’ from sniping to drive-by’s. I just didn’t expect this level of gaming to come from a tablet. Really impressed.
There’s still a degree of repetitiveness to the game with the same sort of ‘baddies’ appearing and attacking you in the same predictable way. It thus becomes a bit too easy sometimes. There’s a good amount of detail given to the terrain/environment, although this could easily be expanded upon and is largely wasted.
All-in-all, this is a game you just have to see in action! Better still, head down to a Mobile shop and put it through your paces yourself! You will be impressed and I just can’t wait to see what else is in store for the Samsung Galaxy Tab!

Is the version of NOVA on the tab a full version or Trial?
If it's full, that'd be annoying as it went bye-bye when I updated the firmware.

Hi, I have an idea for an app but lack the knowhow to create it.
It is a relatively simple idea, an app that allows you and your friends to connect to a "racing track" (Made on google maps) and for it to show your friends speed, distance in front of you and the remaining distance of the track.
I have not been able to find anything similar to this on the market. If anyone thinks this app would be useful/cool and wants to develop it please let me know.
I like thw way your thinking but this has sooo many flaws that would just not make it marketable.
Is this for being on foot? If so, not bad, but quite dull I imagine.
If its by car, then youre inciting speed, using a mobile whilst driving, and not paying attention to the road.
Maybe if you had a start position, and then the end position, plus the route was secret til tou reached certain checkpoint?
posted direct from the legend that is the x10i... the fastest processor, the slowest response...
Lmao. It would be sweet. But I can't help think of death and a complete disregard for traffic laws while using this type of app. Hilarious.

If you are talking about running, I believe CardioTrainer has a feature to race people around the world. I have not tried it out.
i think (hope) that dr_ownage it's referring to something like trackaroo but reference to your friends / anyone who use the app on the same track.
For example I used to record and post videos when "racing" in Monza Gp Track once a year; it would be good to see pals times in real-time while driving and "race" a little bit.
Sometime you are half a lap distant of your pal and no one wants to stop and wait for the others (yep we are competitive and we have payed fair enough to waste even a single second).
+1 for the idea, I could've helped (I'm a java developer) but I have my hands full with other projects.
Regards
It does not necessarily require the disregard of laws. You see there would be certain areas of road where the speed limit is far beyond what someone would/could reach around an uphill curvy road.
On google maps you can make routes could we use this predetermined route as our race track?
Could we display this map on the bottom half of the screen?
on the top half could we have rectangular boxes filling the screen in width displaying |driver name|current speed|distance in front|
eg.
|John|60km/h|50m |
|Matt|62km/h|25m |
|Me |58km/h|-----| (display this one larger)
|Mike|65km/h|-20m|
then if mike we to over take me, his name would swap position with mine.
I was thinking there should be an emergency button so if someone has a problem you can hit the button and their name on everyones screen would start flashing so people know to stop and wait.
Could the times and tracks be stored and recorded, for ghost racing (beat your own times or friends time without them been there)?
I dont think this app would mean you have to break the law it would just be a good way to go driving together in general. There are lots of roads where the speed limit is FAR above what you can reach around when your going uphill and around a corner.
New tablet note pad!
Haven't tried it yet.
Check it out.
Hope you like

Used this for a bit now. Works better than others in certain aspects.
It's good for taking hand written only notes for something like math classes. But falls short for things that you may want to type in.
Also, you are confined to limit writing space and does not have the ability to add a new page when you reach the end, as far as I know at least.
Until we have something that can compete with OneNote we are really SOL. For us students OneNote is really THE best thing around.
Anyways, just my two cents.
That was the app I used, but then I learned of FreeNote. It is by far the best, and free.

Free note is by far the best, and what's even better is the developer is currently developing a honeycomb specific app.

+1 for Freenote. It is loaded with features, works like a champ, even allows drawing so I can doodle my ass off, typing, writing, you name it. And of course free is a big bonus.
I'm posting this here, because I would assume that most of the people who bought a Note did it because of the S-Pen. Therefore, you probably did it for artistic reasons, or because of handwriting support.
Personally, I did it for artsy reasons. For the last couple years (since I got my iPad1) I have been preferring drawing pictures digitally. In order to reference my "style" (might help with my later question) my work is on:
http://niiru.deviantart.com/
I had a few setbacks (apps being a pain, etc) and problems with resolutions and all that, but for the last few months it was ticking along nicely.
And then... I wanted to upgrade my tablet. But an iPad4? The same as what I had pretty much, but the new version? Seemed boring... even though it would be easy, as I could keep the new apps etc...
BUT no... I impulse bought a Note10.1 instead. Because the more-accurate style of stylus could only help, and pressure support? I did without it until now, but it might help in future!
HOWEVER...
I started with Sketchbook Pro on the ipad, a good program. However it was limited in the resolution you could use, which meant that the exported pictures were not very big on my computer screen. And of course, if you enlarge them, they become heavily pixelated. Not good.
So I changed to vector programs, mostly one called "iDraw", which is basically a full adobe illustrator style program. Does absolutely everything. And the main advantage being, the vectors are saved when you export the file... so you can make the pictures as big as you want without any pixellation problems!
My problem with android though... the only vector apps I can find are Adobe Ideas (very very badly rated, 1 star app...) and one called Infinite Design (very highly rated, but still rough around the edges).
BACK TO THE POINT...
So while Adobe Ideas is being made into something thats... not crap. And while infinte design is working out its issues (though I'm still going to try and use it), I wondered what all you guys out in Note-land were using?
Im expecting some nods to sketchbook pro.... and I'm really hoping someone will tell me a way to get around its "canvas size is limited to screen resolution" problem. As this... is pretty bad.
...and I'm also hoping for a few new ideas, some "diamond in the rough" apps which haven't reached my ears yet..
Really hoping I won't regret buying the Note to be honest... I had high hopes for it. It has hit an early hurdle, even taking into account the relative youth of the android tablet app environment.
FOR THOSE WHO SKIPPED THE WALL OF TEXT:
QUESTION - What do you guys use, to make pretty pictures on the tablets. Vector based for preference, or bitmap if the canvas size can be changed!
Thanks y'all.
(excuse any rambling, it is 2am here. 'nuff said.)
edit: I didn't put this in the "questions" thread, because its not a question about the Note itself... sorry if that was a mistake.
I also bought the note to draw on and do some sketching, but have been unable to find a program that I like. I keep getting random lines with some of the apps from leaning on the screen. Very dissapointing, but I would like to see what people would recommend

Ok, after another half hour of playing around with Infinite Design, I can see why a) some people give it great reviews, and b) why some people hate it.
I'll start with b) - The interface is a little confusing, and definately needs to be worked on. I think its a one-man project though, so things like UI design may not be at the top of his list. It takes a while to find some things, like certains tools and ways of doing things. I guess thats what they would call a learning curve though.
however...
a) This app does have some very very clever design features. I have found a couple that have actually wowed me, and made me think I could use it to do some really interesting work.
For instance, you can add a line of symmetry to a drawing, so that everything you draw is mirrored along a vertical/horizontal/angled line of symmetry.
Not too special you say? Well you can add this line mid-drawing, without it automatically mirroring your previous work, and do a couple mirrored lines, then remove it. Ive known programs that would simply mirror everything.
Still not enough? The line of symmetry is customisable, it defaults to the centre of where your screen is aimed on the canvas, and can be moved to any location. *This is actually potentially very useful, and I know of no iOS apps that have this as a feature.*
back to b) though, finding out HOW to put in these lines of symmetry, and how to then move them (it involves a tool that is in a different menu entirely) was half judgement and half luck on my part. There aren't any tutorials for any of this stuff *yet*.
But yes, if vectors float your boat (as they do mine) it would seem that "Infinite Design" is currently the one to watch on Android. Its not perfect, it will take some work and getting used to, but with a few more updates (and the guy seems to be working on them fairly regularly, relatively speaking) it could be something pretty special.
SO I have put in an answer to my own question, someone elses turn now!
Edit:
I actually emailed the creators of sketchbook pro (auto desk) because I was so annoyed by the canvas size limitation I wanted to vent my anger in a request for much-needed-changes...
Less than an hour later, I had an actual reply! I was shocked, to say the least.
Apparently Chad (the auto desk guy) was so helpful, he decided to let me know that the new version of sketchbook for iPad and android was coming soon, and would have changes to the canvas limitation, as well as various other "exciting changes in the way people will use this app".
He seemed excited, and now so am I!
So there might be good things coming for sketchbook pro, and I am glad as that was always a very good app on iOS.

Good list! I'm going through them on the play store at the moment, though a few of them fall into the "fun" category, of being nice to play around and doodle on, but no use for any bigger projects. The problem is usually a matter of having no way to export the pictures as a usable file type
edit: layer paint seems interesting, if it ever makes a tablet version it could be awesome. I cant find an app called "drawing" though...

I had heard of these before, but I had thought they were just for handwriting (that is what they themselves advertise as) though the quill app does seem to have a few nice drawing tools too. And it can save as a .pdf.. which would usually mean saving any vector information too! Interesting..

Ahh thanks, I will take a look
I have also found out about an app called TouchDraw... vector drawing, seems to have been a popular one on the iPad store, and is released on android recently it seems....
But its unavailable in my country? I'm in the UK, so I'm guessing its for America only for some reason (As I doubt the developer has a specific grudge against the UK). I may try and find a way around this, so that I can test it out and review it for you guys.
I'll try and post up a review thread of all these apps somewhere soon, so people can find the apps that would be most useful to them (vectors/bitmap/fun/serious/etc)
Assuming this would be useful to anyone anyway, I know it would be to me
My daughter wants an app that's good for inking and has a blend and smudge tool, multiple brush modes, and layers. Do any of the apps out there fit this bill.

I got this just now. Had an hour of playing around (and looking up windows help guides to figure some stuff out)....
Oh..Em..Gee.
This is an insane program. It is like a full windows animation program, on a tablet.
And strangely, it wouldnt work on any normal tablet, only ones that use a pen. Fingers would be way too thick to hit these menu buttons, and the contextual help only comes up on "mouse-overs".
Colour me impressed, this tool will be something awesome when it is released. There needs to be more like this! Programs that the iPad could *never* have (unless they release a non-capacitive screened iPad, which I doubt they would).

Sketchbook pro has most, if not all, of these features. Not sure on the blend and smudge for the android version, I know that the iPad version did. Check it out in the Play store, it should list the features.
It is a very good program, and I have been told by an Autodesk employee that a new update that will add all sorts of nice new features, and will be coming out "soon". Though how soon "soon" is, is anyones guess.
Dont take my word for it though (I'd hate for you to spend money and then blame me if I was wrong!!!) so check out the Play listing for sketchbook pro. Make sure you end up buying the "Sketchbook Pro for Tablets" one though, if you do buy it.
Edit: There are blend modes using layers.... but no smudge tool in sketchbook. Not on android anyway, it has been on the iPad version for a long time though. I would *think* that it would get added in the upcoming update. Sorry I couldnt be more help, I haven't yet explored the colouring side things on android...
However, I hear good things about a program called "Infinite Painter", made by the same guy who does the Infinite Design app. The pictures I have seen done using it were very impressive, so I expect that might have smudge/blend tools. I would check that one out if I were you. It has a Note-specific version of the app, which is nice!

This is a link to the Free version. Probably has adverts or limited saves or something. The paid version isnt expensive though.
I use sketchbook pro, best app for drawing I've used and easy translation from photoshop illustrator but slightly easier for stuff like adding layers.
Lacks the one thing it needs which is palm rejection which would make it a worthwhile purchase.

It's the app I used on iPad, but trust me when I say the iPad version has a lot more tools in it. Don't know why they've been so slow with the android one.
An update on my infinite design findings... It's good. But it's missing some necessary tools, such as Path joining and being able to select-all. Also it seems you can't have your line be a different color to your fill...
Vector graphics users will hopefully understand what I mean lol. I miss my iDraw program on the iOS. It had everything. Maybe someday soon a program will catch up to it!
Although I still need to try that new TouchDraw program that's on Samsung apps... It looks promising, in theory.
Because people think of Apple users as "artists" and Android users as geeks.
Anyway, tvpaint looks ridiculously complex!
I once was quite good at using TV Paint (when it was called Mirage) but I forgot almost all of it. It's a very specific program. Right now I would kill for MyPaint on Note 10.1. I'm considering porting it - but it uses Python which is not available on Android AFAIK.

Its probably generally quite true, but as an artist AND a geek, I am happy with my wacom-powered device. So they need to start making apps for it!
Saying that, I had an email from the developer of the vector app I use, and he has finished his other project for now and is back to work on his next update for this app. So things are moving forward!
I was just about to bite the bullet, and spend the £5.50 for the TouchDraw app from the samsung store when I noticed.... It is only compatible with Jellybean 4.1+.
Which hasnt been released for my device yet, officially.
Lame.
Might be time to root.
