i have the usa tmobile MDA and i just flashed my rom to the most recent I Mate rom. Now my GPRS wont connect. can someone please help me?!?!?!

I have the updated ROM but unable to get the GPRS working for T-Mobile USA. Many thanks in advance.

alright i got my GPRS back up and running.
i just added a new connection, called it T-MOBLE GPRS and set the access point to internet2.voicestream.com.
most people on this forum mention how this particular ROM seems to run faster, but i havent really noticed any performance increases yet

Possible help GPRS, etc
This might be of benefit to some with the GPRS trouble after update.
1. I did the Imate ROM update and had lots of trouble with GPRS MMS etc..
2. Didn't know how to fix so - I started over...
3. I installed the Qtek ROM and had the same connection issues.
4. Called T-Mobile - got a 3rd level tec and he suggested something I had not heard before. Now keep in mind that I had reset several times hard and soft. He had me go inot Comm and hit the phone icon - and turn it off and on. I am not sure exactly why - but it worked! His explanation was that since I was going back and forth between work and home that the phone (which is supposed to switch automatically didn't and) got locked somehow. I am pretty new to all of this but already did 3 ROM updates - so learning a lot.
5. Now all my connections work the way they are suppose to. Only ONE connection and that is wap.voicestream.com as it should be. My WiFi connection is blazingly fast! I am a happy camper - but I went around and around with this for about 2 days before getting a tec that gave me this advice.
Perhpas someone can tell me which is newer (better) the Qtek or the Imate ROM??

ok i have searched all over howard forums and here about the GPRS settings for T-Mobile USA.
in one particualr post it mentions you have to set the appropriate access point for your type of internet service. Personally, i have the T-Mobile total internet for $29.99.
I have applied both of these setting as my access point
internet2.voicestream.com and wap.voicestream.com
both of these settings allowed me to connect to the GPRS network, so i guess my question is which setting should i be using????

T-Mobile is shipping all these devices with wap.voicestream.com, and has opened the ports for people on the "real" internet service using it.
If you use "internet2", you will have problems with MMS, since you can't send MMS through that AP. There are workarounds for this but they are messy. My recommendation is that you use wap.

Wizard with T-mobile rom help

I just flashed my 8125 to the T-mobile rom. Now my internet won't connect because all the settings are now for T-mobile. What do i have to change to get the internet to work with AT&T???

I am curious about the same thing. I just upgraded my T-mobile and now the internet won't work.
In addition - the alt keys (of shift on a regular keyboard) are not the same as WM5, but this is a minor thing that I can handle. Just got to remember where the question mark is. LoL.
But, how do I get the internet to work again?

HTC Touch 3G "Orange Unique"

Hi , I recently got a HTC Touch 3G from Orange as i had the HTC TyII and love that phone with the wifi and now i have this new phone that seems quite good however has been changed with the Orange Unique that allows you to connect to wifi but not use it , why would they do this? (money making). The Unique technology don't do any thing that it clams to do i don't seem to get better coverage or any thing, just high data costs and a low batter.
I want to use the wifi on my phone for the internet and google maps etc, is the only way around this to flash my phone to a ROM on this site ? If so i understand that is voids my warranty , but want to know if any one has done this successfully (Hope Orange hasn't put a block on Flashing etc)so that i can do the same because i do miss my wifi and may just go back to my HTC TyII .

hi mate i got mine about 2 weeks ago.. n hacked the ass out of it... it too was Orange UK
i was disgusted when i got it to fined it would not use the wifi as a net connection! but it sure does now and i love it!

I seriously suggest using a an XP pc... i have vista on my laptop and i found it didnt work as it should... you alos dont see the files of the actual phone on vista u just see the memory card!
with xp you see everything!
first go here and modifiy the SPL to HPSL this bascially unlocks the phone to allow you to flash new roms (but its not sim unlock etc) you need to do this or flashing another rom will not work!!!

Wifi doesn't work at all
Hello there,
I am completely new to HTC world. Recently I bought Touch 3g locked to Orange and am currently using it with O2 after unlocking. Could never use its wifi until now with the Unique even on Orange.
I had only seen some web pages when connected through the Orange 3G.
Could you please let me know how can I remove the Unique and use it as non-Orange HTC?

Guys, I have a touch 3g branded from Orange. Used Hard SPL - ensure you have the correct version, and that it installs correctly - reaad the hard SPL posts on how to do this - carefully - and read them again toensure you have the correct version and it loads correctly, then flash whatever rom you require - I went with the standard one and it worked first time, perfectly.
Wifi is rock solid, and it has lost all the rubbish suppressions that Orange introduced in their rom.
Good luck - reading around these forum will solve your issues no problem

I could not get the file from the HTC website because it says my S/N is not compatible, I can only assume that this is because HTC have agreed to not release the software to Orange units forcing us poor customers to pay to use 3G internet rather than free WI-FI. A bit of searching led me to an English version hoseted on another website:

I specifically asked in the shop that it run WiFi and was ,mis-informed by the sales guy. Not his fault he was brain washed.
Anyway, came here did Hardspl & Tommy34's rom. Its great solved a battery drain (auto off wans't working) & I'm now able to easily turn off 3g until I really need it or get an o2 eqivalant tariff. WiFi works perfectly.

Used that myself and worked a treat - many thanks. Wasn't sure if it was for UK phones but it seemed to work ok. Now happily using Wifi.

After updating the ROM, can you guys still use Orange 3G or do you have to use an alternative provider for internet access?

Those of you that still have the original orange UMA software, I think I have a fix for you that allows UMA to still work but uses your own wifi. Perhaps someone could roll it in to a cab or executable for me if it works.
Make sure you have disconnected any gprs connection that you may already have, change the registry key below and you can test whether it has worked or not by going to http://orangeworld.co.uk/ in a browser. If it is using your wifi you should get "The page you are trying to access is only available via your Orange phone, when connected via the Orange GPRS network. If you are a BlackBerry user trying to access via the BlackBerry Internet Service Browser please change your default Browser to OrangeWorld through which this portal is available."
there is a slight speed lag when resolving dns names I think, but maybe someone can refine the fix that I have come up with.
It has to be run each time the phone is booted:-

Like others - I've flashed a new ROM to replace the Orange one. It works great - but I need to return the phone to Orange for a replacement for another reason (found a defect in the case).
I dumped the original Orange ROM - and am all set to flash the device back to its original state.
But I forgot to make a note of the original ROM version number before dumping!
HTC Rom Tool allows me to enter anything but I assume when they get the phone back Orange will want to see an appropriate version number.
Anyone know what it should be for a new Orange branded HTC Touch 3G?
And the country ID for UK? And the model ID? Should it be Jade110 rather than Jade100?

Hey - a real big thanks to DJHICKS and all the others who his post on flashing a decent ROM on the HTC Touch 3G links to - I was going to ditch my new one from orange 'cus unique manager was so cr** - but he saved the day and taught me a whole lot of new stuff about PDAs!! Can't believe I'm now talking about flashing ROMs! THANKS

Unique service access to the internet
Hi All,
I have the orange touch 3g too and have been able to get on the net using the default rom without patches by using 2 steps.
First as the other post suggested stop the gprs (generic term for data access 3g or otherwise). I did this by changing the server name from "orangeinternet" to orangeinternet." this is done by manage connection from the connections tab on setting screen form the start menu. This stops any data connections.
Then once connected to your wifi at home got the unique manager and advanced setting, network adapter, there is a drop down list with work and internet on it. change it to work and then back to internet and ok it. Then you can get on the internet
The last step you have to repeat every time to you connect to the wifi as it forgets, I think the saved networks don't remember this, but if you don't used the saved networks and have the notification turned on it asks you if the network is internet or not which 'could' solve this problem, either way the steps above work reliably for me. I guess I should mention I have orange broadband too, so I get a unique connection too (the green house), this is the bit I hate the tariff is for orange to orange calls no other network, so I have to keep unique off unless I'm doing something on the internet as any call outside orange would be build as far as I can tell, I've not tried as I don't want the bill for it any info on this would be great.

It is possible to RE-Flashed my HTC EVO?

Hi i was wondering if it is possible ro re-flashed my HTC EVO?
I cant get that web or mms ro work... I have it on metropcs already...
But that thing is that i took my phone to a wireless shop and they just got me txt n calls... but no web or mms...
I dont know what to do to get that web going or mms...
Is there any solutions i can do?
Also i can get that PORTS to appeared on my DEVICE MANAGER? any idea why it wont showed?
i check on that SDCARD and that only ROT file it has its called EARTHROT...

what are you talking about? you have an evo that is not on sprint network and you need to know how to get network access? if you dont have a data plan you dont have a data plan, simple as that. If you want a data plan take it to your wireless provider and up your game a lil bit

But that thing is that they told me that only Txts n Calls will worked not WEB OR MMS... So im guessing they didnt know how to do that yet...

I've recently bought an HTC Legend from Virgin mobile, unlocked it, and now trying to get it to work on Rogers. After I unlocked it, I tested the phone by placing a call. It worked.
Then I got excited and decided to root it and load a custom ROM. I did not read the comments about the ROM and it turns out, the ROM changed my radio. When I go Network Operators on the phone it now says, "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
The ROM I used was Rodriguezstyle MoDaCoMoDrOm V2.3
I thought I lucked out and found the Bell RUU from Shipped ROMs but that didn't help at all.
I got too excited when I first received the phone and didn't take down the radio info before I starting messing about, which was stupid on my part.
I am freaking out a little and not sure what else to do. I had asked a friend to bring this phone over from Calgary, AB for me because they don't sell them in Winnipeg, MB where I live so bringing it back to the retail outlet is going to be pretty difficult.
Please, please, please help me. I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong spot.

Or you can do it the hard way. Just flash all the radio that was released. Try one by one and you might hit the spot. Try 7.08.35.21.

Haha! I wish I could. The retail outlet where the phone was purchased is in another province and is about a day's drive. They don't sell the device in the city I live in.
...although I could give it a shot here and ask them to ship one over? I'll save that as a last resort

I think I might have to try this method. Do you know if there is a repository of all the radio released for the Legend?

I've flashed the radio suggested, 7.08.35.21, still nothing. I was reading in another thread that it could be my SIM card? Strange how I was able to place a call when the phone was first unlocked. ...but it IS about 3 years old.
I'm not sure what else to do. I just may have to plead with the retail stores here. Hopefully they can ship me a new one

Whoops! I meant the SIM card. Sorry about the mix up.

I just got off the phone with Rogers Tech Support to see if there was anything wrong with my SIM. He said that the symptoms I am having seemed similar to that of a locked device ("Error while searching for networks" and "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network" when in Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile network > Network Operators).
He mentioned that by flashing a new ROM, that could have re-locked the device. Sounds strange to me but if this is true, how do I find out which carrier the device is now locked to? I am now running the rooted ROM found at the root tutorial TheUnlockr.com.
The phone is not prompting me with an unlock code input like it did the first time around. Is there a way to bring up that prompt again?

I hope everyone had a great holiday.
A few updates:
- tried flashing different ROMs
- tried toggling radio and autosync
- tried flashing a new radio
- tried using stock Bell Mobility RUU
- contacted Rogers and got them to reset me on the network
Still nothing, not even voice. I've been obsessing over this and it's driving me a little nuts.
rajasyaitan has suggested flashing all the radios that were released until I hit something that worked. Is there a repository out there?
I don't know why, but it never occurred to me to ask for the stock Virgin Mobile Canada RUU until now. Does anyone have it lying around somewhere or knows where I can get my hands on it? I can't find it online anywhere. If not, is there a way to pull it from a phone that is running the stock ROM? I'm not sure if it is the same as the Bell Mobility one but I thought I should start from the very beginning.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Please my phone is having the same exact problem, it's not working! I'm with Virgin Mobile Canada and I cannot connect to my carrier telling me my SIM card is not allowing me to connect to them! Please someone help! I used this Rom called Stock Froyo ROM for the HTC Legend with Online Kitchen from Modaco.
And when I loaded it, it wouldn't let me access my settings and then I loaded my backed up Rom, and now I can't connect to my Mobile Carrier. (Virgin Mobile Canada) what should I do?

Just a thought here, but is it possible that the phone is SIM locked again? When you unlocked it, did you have to flash another radio FW? Did you try "unlocking" it again?

Actually my phone is connected now, I had the same problem, I did something with the recovery before the problem was magically fixed, I went into recovery, and went down to "Backup/Restore" and I went to "Restore Google something sys..." (Restore NOT backup) and when it was done, my phone was working again, but I was on a different Rom other then the one that caused the trouble. That's what I did and it might have worked because of that I really don't know. And my phone is on "GSM/WCDMA auto", and it's connecting just fine.
