I've attached two pics to this thread... one is of the iPhone SMS Notification and one is a SMS-Chat Text Notification I'm currently running on WinMo (as you can see both are practically the same). The SMS-Chat Text Notification is nice but when you click the Envelope (view) button it automatically opens the SMS-Chat client which needless to say is a big memory-hog. Is there anybody out there who can make a very lightweight QVGA SMS/MMS Notification app (in the same style of this SMS-Chat Notification or the iPhone SMS Notification pictured) that links to the native Windows Mobile Messaging program? It would be totally sweet if it would possible...
Thanks in Advance!!!
if u have the .cab pass it on lol

i like s2u2's tho but hey for the people that dont use it
thats pretty nice

Maybe a little clarification on my part is due... this Notification is part of the program SMS-Chat by Vito. While I love the notification part of this app (which I took a screenshot of on my Vogue), I truely dislike the remaining parts of SMS-Chat. I posted the screens because I was wondering if anyone would be able to make a simple, lightweight Notifiication Application just like the Notification part of SMS-Chat by Vito.
P.S. - The "Theme" in the background of my screenshot is not a "Theme" but is infact NFSFAN's v6 of Windows Mobile 6.5 for the Vogue with a Bamboo Wallpaper

I have the same phone, could you show me how to upgrade to WM 6.5?

I've tried every SMS program I could find out there. The one in pocketCM contacts, SMS chat, SmileySMS.
I found it that I prefer the normal windows mobile messaging app that comes with windows mobile 6.1 ( I did use the search tool )
Since I use a touch pro... I was wondering can someone make a diamond theme for the messaging application? Just changing the background, font colors, and some icons?
I wish I had at least a shred of skill in doing this stuff. I would have loved to do it myself.
So.... is it possible?

Pretty sure its not possible, at least easily - the messaging app is hardcoded so changing stuff would probably be more hassle than its worth.
Also, this should really be in the Questions forum
Oh, sorry I keep forgetting about that forum
...
Well, there is a utility for changing the background image, or background color, fonts and stuff. I think it's called SMS-Tweaker.
I don't mind cause my ROM, Manila ported ONYX, has the Message Tab, and i tap the message and respond in the thread. You know what, I'll place a black background and white text to match the theme.
LOL,
Paul
Since there has been so many new ROM and UI releases for the X1 I thought I'd restart a thread where each user can show off a screenshot of their homescreen set up.
Hopefully it will get people asking 'oooh that's nice how did you do that?'
So Here's mine to start with:
I'm Using Jack's ROM 3.3. I've removed the curtains top and bottom and personalised it.
I took a random Noir-ish background and colourised it blue. (To match the Blue SE start logo)
All my highlights are blue too, and I added the X Icons pack.
Finally I installed the analogue and digital clock.
Please post your setups (But don't over post just because you've changed the background or added a new 3D scene ;-)
Very nice!
how can u take a screenshot of your homescreen??

oooh...you're gonna have to tell me where you got that theme from...that's nice (I'm assuming it's SPB Mobile Shell 3.0.?)
That's Pointui...
Ive always been curious if there is a way to add a shadow behind all the text in TF3D. With the text being white, some wallpapers cant be used because they "hide" the text and that really limits the wallpaper use in TF3D if you want to be able to read messages, etc.
If there is a way to place a text shadow behind all the text in touchflo, it would be a great achievement and im sure it would please a very great deal of people. Does anybody know a way to do this, or have any ideas on how to?
I tryed posting this question in the manila 2.1 thread twice, but no luck as there are so many people eager for help, and im okay with that because i know thats what xda is all about.
I guess it's possible, you could change the font in mode9 files...
In Manila 2.6 you get a nice semi-transparent area under the text on the home screen - that's a nice improvement.

Do you think Manila 2.6 will be ported to VGA, i see 2.5 is in the works, and 2.6 has just been released for the Leo, but its format is suited more for WVGA, lets just cross our fingers
any suggestion on how the text could be changed to have the same font but just with a shadow?
I saw a picture where the top taskbar shows running programms on the right from start button (in the same size as start icon)!
Could anyone please tell me the name of the app or send a link or even better - post a cab!!
BTW Im using Htc Touch HD - WVGA screen, WM6.1
Search for wktask.
or wizbar advance
That would be very cool. Actually Wktask works good, but in portrait, the taskbar doesn't look very good, because there is so little space.
But if the taskbar would work like windows 7, with icons only, it would be very great!

You go in Preferences - Design - and on the top is Presented Type and there you change "Icons-only style. That`s it.
Hi all,
Did some search in this forum and seems like no topic talking about how to add/remove/Modify program link about the slide bar's icon(Home, contact, SMS, Mail... etc) Is it possible to edit by registry or not? Many thanks

You want HDWall. It's primarily for making HQ wallpapers that work on all tabs, but it also allows you to create your own slider images.
You can get it here...

Hi johncmolyneux,
Not really, I want to add some icons into the slide bar w/ self defined program like calendar touch / pocket player instead of just changing the image of icon. Is it possible?
Thanks

Yes, it's possible, but it's a massive undertaking. In the time that Manila has been about, I've only heard of 2 (I think) tabs being developed for it, other than ones that HTC have made.
Manila is simply not configurable in that manner.

I did some research and see a program call MTP(Manila Today Page) can actually create a icon into the slide bar and link to a self defined program. I wonder how is it work and may be we can write our own icon too
