New On-the-RoadPanel and iGo - XPERIA X1 General

I've just installed On-the-RoadPanel. Do you now how can I add iGo navigation to it. There is just a Googlemap under the navigator key.

Have no idea.
But On-the-Road Panel is actually very very nice!

It is not possible to change it to anything other than googlemaps.

That's bad for sure cause I want it too with iGO. Maybe in the future...

TT6 and screen rotation

I've just upgraded TT to 06 and, suprisingly... the smily icon to rotate the TT screen from portrait to landscape has disappeared... have they hidden it in any other menu?
My car holder requires me to show landscape, but when I close my JasJar with the screen upwards it goes automatically to portrait and TT, without and indipendent command to rotate screen, goes to portrait as well... so I have to go out of TT, change screen setting... and go back in...
I am sure there is a better solution... thank you!!!
Chris
hi, i am having the same annoying problem. unfortunately tomtom has not included this option in the latest version. the only solution i have come across so far is getting yourself phoneAlarm 1.56.1 by pocketmax. this application have got a pawerful profile manager which allows you to rotate the screen and luanching tomtom at one go and much more. so basicly instead of tapping many times all you need to do is just change profile from home to car. and u are done. the one think i dont like about the application is the fact it is not only profil manager but "bigger" plug-in.
has anybady know a plug-in which is only profile manager which would let me do the same ?
cheerz, cudo
For that, I use PocketZenPhone...
hi, thanks for pointing this out "For that, I use PocketZenPhone..." it is really cool application and it is only a profile manager with loads of options. thanks again. now all my problems with tomtom and rotation every time i want to use it are solved. the application start tomtom, rotate the screen and turns on the bluetooth for me. have a look at how it looks on today screen

Isn't it possible to leave your jasjar in laptopmodus in your carholder?
That way you have landscape plus the advantage of using the keyboard for navigating through TT
You're welcome. Same use for me... You can also create a shortcut on today launcher like iLauncher or SPB PocketPlus refering to navigation profile you défined in PzP... That's what I do, no today plugin, only systray...
So is there a fix for the screen rotation problem on Tomtom 6?
What's wrong with a mort script or whatnot?
I've written VJUzumaki, which will fix this problem, but not available for release immediately...

I'd be very interested if you have a fix for this problem. Not being able to rotate the screen in tomtom 6 is a real pain.
Could you keep us posted on its development please?
Thanks
I've posted in a couple of places, unfortunately the code was written to order for someone else. They have to decide in what form to release it...
For now, I can say it can be fixed, on every slider based device, Uni, Wizard, XV6700, Hermes ... It's not a registry based solution tho, if it was I'd love to tell you guys about it.
V
If you have one available for the Hermes (same as SPV M3100 I think) please let me know.

What do you mean. problem? The rotation feature was removed by TomTom "based on end user requests". Like so many other things that were present in the older version. Anyone still remembers the permanent avoids of TTN2 and 3 ?
I have my uni in a car holder, but I can twist my holder (brodit)
so I have it in landscape for msn/email, and portrait when i need to navigate.
btw TT6 is much much slower then TT5 on my uni
in landscape it's unusable, in portrait it seems even slower then tt5

How to disable "footprint" on right hardware-button?

Hi,
I would like to disable the footprint-application from the right hardware-button, but it dosn't work. In registry under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/shell/keys I've made two new entries (40C1 and 40C2), so I can choose now the two hardware-buttons in preferences. But when I lay another program to the right hardware-button, this programm starts together with footprint...
The left hardware-button is no problem, it works fine with every programm I want
Thanks
oese
(sorry for my bad english, I hope you can understand my problem...)
Looks like it is somehow hardcoded into the TouchFLO interface. I managed to "unmap" the left key (simply by uninstalling TomTom), but I had no success with the Footprints key so far.
I think that some program or registry setting is responsible for these keys mapping.
I've managed with ae button plus to assing a different application to these keys, but the default apps run again with the new apps. And I think that because you uninstalled tomtom, just they didn't find the app and for this is not running with the new assinged app.
I don't think that is touchflo related.

I am not sure mate, tried to look almost everywhere in the registry with no success. But I'll keep trying, the Navi and Footprints buttons sux. I'd rather have Diamond's/HD's Back and Home keys, if nothing better.

Got the same result too, when tried to map another app with AEBP.

Sure, I know it just doesn't find the app, but at least it got me rid of TomTom (I am an iGO 8 user). I admit it's quite lousy workaround.
I think I found something.
Seems that the function of these buttons loading as a service.
I've managed to unbind the left button by stop the NaviService(NPS0 and I think that
the service App Service(APP1 is responsible for the right button, but I cannot stop this service.Needed further research though.
EDIT:
I've managed to disable it from registry(HKLM\Services\App). I changed Context and Index values to 0 and seems that the button is unbind now!
Needed to set these services to not automatic start also. This can be done with FdcSoft Task Manager 3.1
Ok, after some time playing around with my registry, I found a workaround how you can start a different program with the footprint button:
(BTW I have a German version so I'm not sure how the features are called in English, so if anyone can describe what I write next clearer, please feel free. Thx)
First you have to go to system preferences. In the system tab you'll find an option where you can make some adjustments about A-GPS and Place Settings. In the left tab you can activate and deactive A-GPS and tell your device which provider to use to access it. In the right tab you can tell the device not to notify you if some HTC software wants to start this feature which monitors the place where you are. Check this box.
This will keep the Google notifier to pop up every time you press the footprint button.
The go to the registry:
\HKLM\Software\HTC\FootCam
and simply change the path in there to any program you want to use with the button. e.g. \Program Files\ThumApps\ThumbCal\Thumbcal.exe
Well, works well, but do you have any idea if disabling these services does not cause any other issues?
After a hard reset I did the following
- installed the 40C1 and 40C2 reg key
- set the the NaviService(NPS0) to manual
Both buttons can now be used by Windows without any issue so far. No more changes were needed for me. Hope that helps. (I have a HTC Guide, that is the O2 branded version)
Sebastian
I mentioned that few posts above.
The problem is that when the NaviService doesn't run, NaviPanel doesn't start automatic when in carkit mode, even if this option is checked in carkit settings screen.

Yes It Works,
Followed the steps and it works. I assigned foot prints to put phone in standby ( screen off / on ) The Off works quick, the On has a delay but I will get used to it.
Set the NAVI to Manual Start is the trick

S2U2 doesn't lock Navi & Footprints HW buttonss

Hi, does anybody have the same problem? On my HTC Cruise 09 I use SSMaHo and Manilla2D Customizer utilities, no changes made with the HW buttoons. When I lock the device with Slide2Unlock2, TomTom and Footprints programs still start after pressing their buttons. Might it be a course of using the SSMaHo or M2D Customizer? Can anybody help me out? I liked S2U2 bud had to uninstall it. I've heard many times the TomTom travel instructions from my pocket
Hello, I have the same problem! But i have no extra software only the Slide2unlock2.
I think it has nothing to do with Manilla2D ect.
Hello!
I had the same problem.
After you press the TomTom/Footprint Button in S2U2, Pocket GnuBoy etc. the program [TomTom/Footprints] starts.
The solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501245
After you do all things in this HowTo the problem is solved and you can configurate the buttons to start TomTom, Footprint or other Programs and S2U2 will work normal.
Hi all,
I know that the post is old, but for information for this issue, i installed the last version of S2U2 (V2.21) and the problem doesn't appear any more for me. In V2.12 i had this.
If that can be useful

Force Landscape for TomTom 7?

Hey All,
I just got my phone this friday and installed tomtom 7on it.
It works nice & fast for those who want to know... But how can I get it into landscape?
I read on internet that you need to put your phone in landscape modus before starting up tomtom but that doesn't work (rotating doesn't help)
So what I also read is that you can assign a button to force rotation... But well I can't find the settings... Any help?

Use a 3th party gsensor app.
Add TomTom in it, and allow it to go landscape when putting the phone in landscape.
Hmm sorry for being noobish (this is my first windows mobile phone), but where can I find that specific G-Sensor app, I googled but all I can find are some silly G-Sensor games etc...

Hmm sorry to bother again... But the program crashes when I start it, "MissingMethodException" and than it's telling me that I need a newer version of the compact framework...

I use Gyrator 2 and it works very well in tomtom, both in landscape mode as in reverse modes.

Does it work in the HD2, or do you have it running on a different model ?
I use Change Screen on my Diamond.
You can set TomTom to ONLY work in landscape mode, so when you start the app, it then rotates to landscape, and will not flip to portrait and back again when you go round a corner a bit fast.

Running on my new hd2 ofcourse
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347705
I used that and assigned it to the answer call button (did this by changing the button settings).
I just hold it down for a few secs and it rotates manually, hold down again and it goes back to normal! I prefer this than using the gsensor

Yup. If you're a memory freak like me and doesnt want to install unnecessary cabs running in the background when HTC already has a rotate function, i suggest using what's already there. Holding down for 2sec and voila! landscape. I find all the other rotate programs to be a huge pain (and sometimes dont work at all!) and take up to much RAM. Assigning the <rotate screen> to the call button was the best thing I've ever did.
Leo hardware button
Nice programme, simple, effective. But with al LEO it seems you can not assign hardware buttons to programmes. Or I am I doing something wrong here?
Same here... Found where I can assign the buttons, only no buttons appear so I can't select anything...
The strange thing is that autorotation of tomtom 7.916 worked on the HD out of the box which doesn't work on the HD2. Perhaps the API changed but i hope TomTom / HTC comes with an update to fix this.
Sorry wrong answer. Deleted.
Auto rotation working fine in my Brandnew HTC now.
Found the tips to get it working somewhere else.
Step 1:
Go to the following Registry key:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\ModuleName
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: TomTom
Value: \Program Files\navigator\tomtomnavigator.exe (if you have a different language you may need to change Program Files to whatever you have)
Please note that in this case TomTom is installed on the Device, NOT the Storage Card.
Step 2:
Go to the following Registry key:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\Whitelist
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: TomTom
Value: MunichWinClass
Now do a Soft Reset, and now when you start TomTom and put your HD2 in Landscape, TomTom will rotate automatically.
Maybe someone can make a cab for this ???
yep i've used that registry fix above and that does get tomtom to auto rotate, better than using a 3rd party app, although if you had bsbtweaks installed you might have been able to get it to auto rotate using that.
Personnaly, I use BsB Tweak to enable landscape on many programs, included TomTom

How does the Navipanel work?

Hi @ll
I have a little, perhaps easy question. I am currently building an app which works with several address. A nice feature of my app would be, to start the installed navigation software (tomtom, navigon, ...) with the target address to automatically start navigation.
Now I have seen that there is the so called Navipanel from HTC which does something simillar. But how does it work? I just own the HTC HD not the HD2 with the latest one. Are there any specifications for the navigation software to start them with a specific address?
C YA @LL
Nobody knows?
sensors and functions and navipanel
nekromonekron!!!!
The question is not correct not how,but where is the navi panel working..?
In Touch pro absolutely. In other phones, not so well. But there is a fantastic expantion video even here in this forum.Look for touch lock proThis little program is free, and comes with a website tutorial, and there is the video.Even google is helping you.Just search for it.
Navi panel is the one below the touch screen, and actualy it has the buttons for navigate the phone and for touching them,or better to say swipe your finger into many diff. directions, you activate sertain function. The functions are limited to your phone. What made it is,what functions are aviable on it....
hope it helps somehow Helios

Thanks for your answer, but I think we are talking about two totally different things ... I am talking about the so called "Navi Panel", which is a panel activated when you put your HTC into a car kit. With this panel you can start a certain navigation software (Navigon, TomTom, etc.) with several parameters. For example, with the Navi Panel you can start the navigation software and let it start the navigation to your home location, without any fingertip. Or start the navigation to a certain address from your contact list without entering the address into your navigation software. And that's what I want to know: How is it possible to start a navigation software with a destination parameter?
woooww. This is something new for me.sorryyyy.
Helios
