Newbie me HELP - XPERIA X1 General

Hi,
What is SPL/Rom/Radio? and Why would i change it?
Can sombody give me a good explanation of this 3 items?
Grtz Rov

Rom == read only memory == the preinstalled operating system called windows mobile you can't change stuff in rom from the device
radio == radio stack == embedded software which operates the gsm module of the device
you don't really wan't to change any of it unless you have problems and upgrade to
have that issue fixed
like instability or poor reception
or new features in a newer rom that you want

WM6 on Eten G500(+)

Hi out there,
after I tried to install a WM6 Rom on a G500+ and looked into several Eten DUMPS I wondered how to change the identification of that device, because it says something like "wrong hardware version" or so if I try to install that X500 ROM on it (what propably should be normal to be said) but is there any file or so which needs a change and then recompile the ROM to make it work?
Or can someone please help me step by step to brew a WM6 ROM for the G500+ and perhaps the G500? I think WM6 should work on the G500+ because of the hardware and processor speed.
So what points are exisiting to be taken care of?

Hi Strauch,
This site is actually for HTC based devices. There may be someone that might know how to help with your particular device, but don't count on it. Good luck though.

Touchflo to O2 atom life

Hi All,
Could someone tell me whether the HTC touchflo can be installed in the O2 atom life?? I have install the HTC home with customizer already. Thanks in advance~~
Very possible, however might need some porting or configuration.
BTW HTC home is just a TodayPlugin(which is much simple to extract for us),whereas TouchFlo is a total different things as i heard it even required the alteration of Touch Screen Driver of our devices.
You can try finding the installation file in the forum, i tried on wm5 before, needed hardreset as my touchscreen failed after installing due to the incompatible Touch driver.
Do try and let us know the result
Good Luck!!

searching for smallest german ROM with big storage rom

I`m searching for a very small ROM for my German XDA mini.
As I have a new phone now i would use my Magician only for Navi with a bluetooth gps-receiver so I need a ROM only with WM2003, Bluetooth and a Tool to see the actual Power-Status on the Home-Screen.
I also would make the minimal Settings, for Example PowerSave.
Not needed are all the Mobile Office and GSM Features.
It`s not absolutely needed that the ROM is in German and I hope there is anyone who can help me.
thx & greatz,
mobi
Just install a German 1.13 ROM without an Extended ROM. I would suggest a 1.13 ROM with Bigstorage since you get more free RAM.
Check this sticky on how to upgrade: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=247994

Keeper
I think this would be a solution to get more free ram, but with this there are still too much tools (mobile office, ...) on the magician I`ll never need.
So is there also another solution (ROM) with the minimum I need ?
I think that you're a little bit confused...all tools are installed via Extended ROM. There's no "mobile office" or any other tool on the Windows Mobile 2003 SE himself, except the Operating system tools (which you shouldn't remove). So, unless you want to start removing the system files (alarm clock, battery manager, wallpapers, etc) there's not much else what you can strip out from a standard ROM...
I think that you should start reading the link that i pointed you...
Q: Why do you need to strip out everything? Ain't 57mb enough for storing and running your Navi program
If it ain't enough then you should consider buying a new pda like the TYTYN II...(256mb rom; 128 ram).

Prophet for Navigation System (only)

Hi,
I want to use my Prophet as Navigation system only (no GSM, no programs, no multimedia). The Propher connects with to an external GPS-Receiver via Bluetooth. Navigation Software is I-Go. I have used it many times with good results.
In order to make the software work faster (smoother) and to use as little as possible battery power i want to have a fast, clean, and stable rom installed.
Which of all those roms out there is appropriate? I guess the memory pool is very important here? Are there any ready-made Roms suitable for this task or should i cook a new one? Which rom should be the base one? I guess i should look for a WM5-rom? Or is WM6 faster?
Thanks in advance!
XDA Neo G4. Cid locked.
OK, I see I asked to many questions at the same time
So I'll try to summarize:
Is it worth to change the Qtek_NVID WM5 ROM from "Step 1" in order to gain more free memory/speed...
...or everything, not necessary for the operation system to function, is already"stripped away"?
Thanks!

[Q] Can you roll back the .NET compact framework if it is hardcoded into the ROM?

Hi All, I'm a new member and was referred here by Vodafone in relation to a query I have with a HTC HD2 and wonder if you may be able to help? I'm trying to install our Field Service management software to a new handset received from Vodafone last Friday.
The problem I have is that I am unable to configure it to work correctly with the programme, the message I get is "A later version of the .NET Compact Framework is already installed. If you want to install this version, first remove the existing version". The developers of the software have advised this is due to the wrong version of .NET Compact Framework being hard-coded into the device via the Read-Only Memory. Currently is has version 3.5.9 installed and I wanted to find out whether it would be possible to roll this back to the version we require, 3.5.7? I used the search function but could not find this problem listed.
I have attempted to remove this version using add/remove programmes but still get the same message (due to this version being hard-coded). Its a windows phone and the Software information states the OS version is 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94).
Many thanks in advance for your assistance.
hi just want to close the thread as the issue has been sorted.
