I've joined this forum in hopes that someone can help me. I have a T-mobile MDA and I haven't used in a while and I'm sure as you've guessed, I've forgotten the 4 digit passcode. I've been scouring all over the net trying to find something to let me back in to my phone. I know I can do a hard reset, but there are some really important things on this phone that I really need to get access to. Please, if there is anyway to get into this phone, please let me know. I've tried different numbers and the timer is currently at 255 seconds and gets longer with each wrong guess. Please help if you can.

Hello folks,
i am searching for a method, to set the time, a sms is staying in the smsc.
On my device a sms is hold for only one day for reaching the other person.
On normal mobile phones you can set this time up to one week or so.
A guy from t-mobile told me, that this value is "hard wired" in the software, but the question is where.
And the next question is, how to change this time.
If anyone has an idea how to, please let me know.
And if this already was written in this forum, please beg your pardon, i didn't find anything with the search-function.
Is my english so bad, or does no one interest this problem
or isn't it a problem?
Maybe this is a problem only for a german version magician?
But in the german mdaportal.de no one answers to this too.

You've started this thread four minutes after your other thread entitled "how do i upgrade my wm 5 to wm 6 ."
As mentioned on there, mr vanx's guides have your answers. By the way, it seems as if you asked for help upgrading and then within four minutes you've got stuck by trying without that help. Given that it takes a couple of minutes to get stuck where you have, it therefore seems you asked how it's done and then immediately started anyway without knowing.
All of which means the help you've had on the other thread is more than likely the only help anyone's going to give you now. You didn't even wait ONE minute. And don't start a new thread for every question, especially when it's actually more or less the same question and within 60 seconds of the first. Just post in your own thread.
My laptop has just blown up on me, and now my phone won't accept my password. Anyway I can reset my password? The phones usb connector is screwed and isn't recognized by the computer... Soooo HELP!!!

You may not wanna hear this part, but you might have to do a hard reset...reason I say you might not wanna hear it is that you'd have to reinstall/resync all your stuff, and since you say that your comp. isn't recognizing the phone, backing up and resyncing would be a pain.
Hopefully someone would be able to tell you how to do it without a Hard Reset, but from what I read on the forum, that might be your only shot. Hope that helps, and hope someone can figure out a way to do it better.

First off. Watch the language. You've been around long enough to know better...
You could install active sync on a friends computer and get your info off first. Then you would be free to hard reset the phone. You'll obviously need to remember your password. It wouldn't be very secure if you could hack around that now would it?
I'm using the desktop, but I can't access anything on the phone because the phone is locked a nd I can't access it. And it asks me to unlock via my phone.
Another problem is it will let me type in a passsword once, and then it will disregard everything else (you click unlock and it wont do anything)

Passwords are such a pain... People put them where they're not needed, and then they come back and bite you in the rearend. I was just trying to extract a package from an old kitchen I DLd months ago, but it was password protected..WHYYYYYYYY?
Before you password protect something ask yourself if it really needs it.
It's okay I've reflashed a new rom to it.

However your thread doesn't explicitly mention what phone you are using. That makes it difficult to help you out as well.

over the past few weeks some of the buttons (namely left soft key, up and left) have stopped working, i've tried numerous roms just incase but it's definatley a hardware issue, now, i've dismanted the phone using the diamantos guide to see if anything jumps out at me, gave the phone a damn good cleaning whilst i had the chance, put it back together....but nothing, everything seems to be in order, all components in their rightful place but i still cant work it out, does anyone know if this is a common problem or if theres a fix as i've been unsuccessful in my searches.
actually, i just found the solution and it worked a treat, thanks anyway people.
btw, if anyone would like to know what i did then i'll be more than happy to share the solution.

ok i found the thread on changing your notification bar to have the android guy and thought hey something easy to do. i was wrong lol and now my phone is freaking out.

In the above thread is says to replace the status_bar_background.png well after searching for a while i found 2 different ones from the 1 he posted and that all i could find. there was the statusbar_background.9.png and the status_bar_background.9.png. well i did the first one and restarted and it didn't work so i moved on to the second 1 and that didn't work either but now i get all the force closes.so now every time i start the phone i get alot of force closes and it wont even let me do anything on the phone so i was wondering if you have any stock files i could replace the broken ones with. im able to let the phone sit and plug it in and i can get adb working on my comp so maybe if someone know some commands i can type to fix i would appreciate it. keep in mind im no dev so if you know commands type out all the instructions to do please. or if you know any other way to fix just let me know. i even did a factory reset and it didnt fix it.
