Hello all,
I've jot got an XDA Mini S and have a few questions I hope you can answer:
1. I can sync fine with Outlook on my PC but if I want to download message via wifi or GPRS I have to use a different account so message are duplicated. Is it possible to set it up so all new messages are downloaded into the same folder?
2. Does the XDA switch automatically between wifi and GPRS, i.e. if it is using GPRS and finds wifi available will it switch? Also, as I pay for 3MB/month with O2 does it matter how long I'm connected via GPRS or is it just the data I pay for?
3. How do you turn off the annoying 'clip clop' noises when you open programs from the start menu? I can't find it in the sounds settings...
Cheers,
RP
Hi, I've enabled an ActiveSync connection with my Trinity and my computer via bluetooth..
What I really want though is to have it connect automatically once I'm within range and everything is on, how would I do this?
Thanks for any help!
Hi, How did you manage to sync via Bluetooth.
Thanks
Haven't done this yet, I need to buy a dongle... but according to the info I've read you need to setup a pan service that is the equivilent of a wifi ad hoc connection...

Question for El_Mariachi
So, you have your PPC rigged up to sync through bluetooth each time you put it in the cradle? That's my goal, but I'm having some trouble you might be able to help with.
Here's my situation:
- PC and PPC are paired
- Sync is possible through bluetooth manually
- In the Activesync program on the PPC I go to Menu>Connections>
The "Synchronize all PCs using this connection:" box is ticked
However, the drop down list of options only contains "`USB" and nothing else
If it isn't too much trouble, could you check your registry here:
HKCU>ControlPanel>Comm
And please list all the values under that Key?
I really appreciate it.
Apparently you have to sync manually there is no other way. I'm not sure how to check the registry but let me know and I'll be happy to post the values
In terms of syncing...
Pair your PPC with your PC
Enable an incoming COM Port from your PC via bluetooth
In AS on your PC, allow connections through that COM Port
On your PPC, in AS, select connect via Bluetooth, select your PC, ActiveSync should appear and check the box.
Then connect via bluetooth again and it should work!
Exporting regsitry keys
If you have a registry editor installed, it should be easy. If you don't have a registry editor installed, and you don't really want to install one I will understand. On the other hand, if you don't mind then a popular freeware is fdcsoft's task manager http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32913&d=1168267333
Once installed, open the program and find the regedit tab. Open HKEYCurrentUser>Comm>Rasbook (see Rasbook location attachment for a pic) and look and see if there isn't a key called Bluetooth, or perhaps `Bluetooth. If there is, then tap and hold that key and select Export. (See Bluetooth Export attachment for another pic) If you zip and attach that file then I can download it and see if it works on my PPC.
Again, if this is too much hassle then it's cool, but it might really help me out. Thanks.

Hello to everybody, newbee here, it's my first WM .
Dear friends I've just received my TC, lovin it, but, there is something which I don't understand:
1) I've 829 contacts in my Outlook 2003, of course, they're managed by categories, why I can't find a solution to syncronize ONLY certain categories? Is it normal that I'm forced to sync the whole lot? Am I doing something wrong or do I've to install any other sw?
2) My WiFi is configured as "internet" and even if I disable "data connection", each time that I ask to download updated weather info, it keeps connecting via GPRS no matter if the WiFi is available and plenty of signal. Anybody here can tell me a step by step procedure to have this working ONLY in WiFi?
Thanks a lot in advance.
I really searched hard, but couldn't find any solutions, neither in a german forum.
My TD2 can use the wlan for internet via topaz' integrated opera without a problem. But if it comes to adding mail accounts, I am not able to choose wlan as the connection to download / send mails (yes, all access data are correct, it's only that I can't choose wlan as connection). Due to obvious reasons, I don't want to use the regular networks of my phone provider. I just want to use my free wlan at home to send / receive mails. What to do?
Normally when a data connection is request, if pda has the wifi actived it first try to connect with a wlan. if it don't find an active wlan, then it connect by gprs or 3g.
if you want avoid the connection with gprs/3g it is advisable to disactivate it by the program Modaco Nodata.
Got it now, all worked well. But after I entered a complete mail account that worked, I entered a second mail account that I didn't configur till the end. Now it appears in the touchflo 3d, is not deletable and does also NOT appear in the WM Mail structure. It seems it only appears in the TouchFlo, which showed it again after deactivating/ enabling TouchFlo again. SKTools doesn't find it either. Dunno where to fin it apart from the registry, where can I delete it?
I've serched the forum but I haven't found and answer to this specifc questions:
I want to add new contacts to my HD2. Is there a software that allows me to create those contacts in my PC and then transfer them to my phone?
Once I have the contacts, I'd like to back them up using MS My Phone, but I have a very low traffic limit on my mobile connection. Can I connect the phone to my pc and use the pc's internet connection to sync my contacts with MS My Phone? That way I wouldn't be charged internet traffic by my carrier.
Thanks
