radio ROM

Can someone tell me how to upgrade only radio stack? I upgraded my ROM to PDAVIET ROM WM6.1 OS 5.2.19400 Build 19400 by NHOCBANME but I cannot use my phone. If I use earlier version everything works fine.

have 'kinda' same problem
I am also looking for Radio Rom only, fortunately my 6.5 rom is smooth so far but I can only get a little..very little signal..(like 1/2bar??) I sometimes didn't get sms messages from my friends!!!
I flash my HTC Diamond with other radio rom and somehow I get 2 bars of signal..

Hi all, I have WM 6.1 WWE (spanish):
rom 3.13.412.0 esn 8/24/2008
radio: 1.59.42.15
protocol 25.85.30.07H
and have had a bad experience flashing swtos 1.0 light rom: it was fast, with the gps, wifi and bluetooth working as a charm but the phone and the camera did not work and I do not want to flash new radios, older radios or muratas radios (for what I have read there are real risks here). I flashed backed the original wm 6.1 rom in spanish and everything is fine now.
I would appreciate your opinion on which rom best suits me:
- I do not want any interface or plugin such as m2d, touch home plugin, diamond, etc.
- I do not want the cube, rather re.direction to setvolume or whatever other application without loosing the kinetic scrolling.
- I want it fast and with more storage and program memory (the only drawback in the cruise, in my opinion)
- I want to use normally all the hardware in the cruise: the fm radio, album, wifi, gps, bt (parrot ck3100)
- I do not care that much about additional software included (task managers or whatever)
Is there any windows mobile 6.1. "as it is" ROM, simply removing third party programs such as IE, Opera, htc home and cube but with kinetic scrolling?
I know each rom is different and each user must try himself but I would appreciate direct opinions on the ROMs you think may suit better the description I gave

I flashed also khanx v5.1 (vanilla) and had the same problem.
After two ours of browsing xda I found the solution. It seems is a newby usual problem:
As most newbies I have a touch cruise rev B so for whatever reason it seems most roms will not work without murata.
To check if your cruise is A or B remove the battery and check the sticker attached to the cruise:
Bar codes
IMEI : Imei code
Bar codes
S/N: HT999AA99999
Bar codes
P/N:99AAA999-99 B

It seems you need a version of murata radio, not the oldest one. and I have read in a french forum about problems with battery drain when using this radio.
So since I do not plan to flash radio I would appreciate if anybody with a rev B cruise and radio 1.59.42.15 and wm6.1 and a light rom can share with me which one he is using.

This one is working in my Polaris rev B, with radio 1.59.42.15
The radio is included in the ROM.
I do not understand anything but it works !!!!
Btw, it is so much faster than the HTC 6.1. official ROM and only has two really minor bugs !!!

Checked my P/N and it ends with a B so I assume it is a Revision B

Noob Needing Help With Rom Flashing

Hi all
been on this site a while now and with 02 stopping the download of there official 6.1 release it has forced me to look elsewhere,
I have looked online here and decided i would like this one,

I knwo i will need to install hard spl first, the main quetsion was that this says that no radio come with it,
Do i need to find a radio rom? or will it use my existing one?
I really have no idea! any help would be appriciated!

From my minimal experience, I think that the ROM will use your existing radio. At least this is what happend to me when flashing ROMs without radio. As a suggestion for radio I say the 1.59.42.23 version. I see better signal.

If you don't flash a new radio it will use the existing one.
Normaly cookers say what radio they recomend, i'm using myself 1.59.42.23 with good results.

after some tinkering and playing i now have Hard SPL installing and the Syrus R4 rom installed and it works lovely!
Now im looking at upgrading my radio to Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21,
Ive donwloaded the file and and now just pondering how to run it?
Do i just run ROMupdateUtility.exe ?
that would the file i would run but wanted to check first!
Also this wont affect the syrus rom will it?

Hi,
Radio 1.64.08.21 is not compatible with latest WM 6.1 ROMs, if you flash it you will not have Camera and phone working correctly.

What would you reccomend to be the best verison for it?

1.59.42.15 or 1.59.42.23

The best and most compatible radio for cooked Wm6.1 is in my opionion 1.59.42.23!
1.64.08.21 is NOT the newest one - don't wonder about the higher version number - it was portetd from another device!

I have now downlaoded 1.59.42.23 radio,
if it doesnt work can i always revert to an older radio rom?

also does anyone know what radio the official 02 xda 6.1 relase has since i think i have them at the momnet,

Never mind - Tried PhamQuang and it worked!!

OK, initial response.
Camera works fine.
Voice and data fine too. Hard for me to talk about signal strength etc. as I work in the city and always get good signal here.
As for battery usage, well we're going to have to wait and see.
Also to note, the download only contains radio nbh file, ie no RUU.

So, tested 1.59.44.02 yet and its very great for me.
Compared to 1.59.42.15 IGO8 found satellites within 20 seconds - 1.59.42.15 needs about 5 minutes.
Cell-Phone is also working very fine.

put RUU and .nbh file in one folder and run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe

With radios 1.59.42.15 and also 1.59.42.23 I had a lot of problems with loosing GPS signal in navigation programs. Specially with IGO.
But I think that with this radio all problems with GPS are solved.
And one strange thing. The size of file of this radio is exactly same like 1.59.42.23
And yes everything works OK in Europe.

I am using udK´s Syrius R4, great Rom, and I want to keep it. So far the only radio Rom I could operate with R4 without major problems was ...42.23. Anyone tried this radio Rom with R4 yet?

It has to be placed at PC folder but still I am not sure if it will work. During installation appeared a question if I have to update Rom current version.
I expected that will be updated only radio. If Rom what about installed software- will remaining or will be deleted?

Just radio Rom will be updated. You will NOT lose anything on your phone.

i'm using udK Syrius R4 with this Radio and i have no problems so far.

Hi:
I'm using this new radio with Touch Navia 1.4 Pro and it is working well. I noticed that the camera image is a lot more stabilizd with this radio. I was using the 23 radio before this.

No sound at all after making/receiving a call.

I really like the new look phone dialer, the one where you slide down the box to show the incall options, however every ROM i have tried that has this in it causes me this problem.
Everything works fine until I make or receive my first call. After that there is no sound at all (no system or call sound) until I soft reset
I have tried searching, can find nothing about this issue.
I have tried several ROMs and a few different radio versions but still get the same result.
Heres a list of the ROMS I have tried and get this issue:
bepe 0.67_prem
shiwanis R1
3LIT3
Gullum TF2D
udK_Syrius-R4_WWE
If I roll back to an older ROM everything is fine

Problem with making/recieving Calls
Hello Dave,
I still have the same problem than you. An other issue is to make your settings' phone to be GSM and let the second option to default. An other issue is to plug your headspeakers, and so it's works fine. But every time i update a ROM i got the same problem

Polaris Radio 1.58.26.20
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21

I'am using the last official Radio from HTC.1.59.42.15
