Selecting tabs in tabsmenu, doesn't make them reappear. - Touch HD General

Hi all!
I'm new to this forum and experiencing the next strange problem with my HTC Touch HD. When I go to the tab-management screen in settings I can choose which tabs should be shown in my TouchFlo3D. I've deselected the internet, stock and weather tabs earlier because I didn't use. Now when I reselect them, the only tab that reappears is the stock tab. All other tabs (beside the mentioned) three work perfectly on selecting or deselecting them in the tab-management screen.
I checked the registry (HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila) and the following registry entries have the following values:
Manilla://album.page.hidden=0
Manilla://email.page.hidden=0
Manilla://home.page.hidden=0
Manilla://inforwidget.page.hidden=0
Manilla://internet.page.hidden=0
Manilla://messaging.page.hidden=0
Manilla://music.page.hidden=0
Manilla://people.page.hidden=0
Manilla://programs.page.hidden=0
Manilla://settings.page.hidden=0
Manilla://weather.page.hidden=0
When I deselect a tab in the menu, the reg-value changes from 0 to 1, which means the tab should be hidden.
Now I don't know what to do anymore to get this working anymore, except for a hard reset.
Hope someone can help me with this problem.
Cheers,
Mel

Drop down menu's

Hi All,
today i installed SPB Pocket Plus, a great app, but when i want to customize it, i experienced a problem, i could not view items in a drop down menu, it just shows 1 item and could not select another.
For example; when i want to change the Tab header position, it give me a dropdown menu, default is 'On Top', but i could not select another
could i change the settings for a dropdown menu in the registry, of is there somewhere a fix for it?
Using a Deepshining ROM with WM 6.5.
Thanks in advance!
i had the exact same problem which look like to be a rom issue but you can use the down arrow on the d-pad,it'll get u to the next option
when i press on the Down button on the d-pad. nothing happens.
There must be a registry tweak to modify the length of the dropdown menu.
looks like the SPB software modified is, because when i remove it, i could change 'button behaviour' . after installing SPbs software i couldn't.
when typing a character when the dropdown menu is selected it will change it., so defenately the length of the menu is not set correctly.
it used to work for me but all of theat was gone when i updated my rom, ofcourse i don't suggest that u do that for such a minor issue

Very strange, icons are missing from the windows menu?

I have a problem with the htc hd 2, when you press the windows logo button on the bottom of the phone you jump to menu where all the icons are (such as installed programs icons and settings).
what happened is that all icons are missing except the today icon, how can
you bring all those icons back?
Also when you install a new program the phone doesn't make any icon in the menu. I have soft reset my phone with the reset button on the back but wouldn't work.
Can somebody help me with this problem?

I hope for your sake I'm wrong, but that sounds like a hard reset is needed, to me. Wait and see if anyone else has any suggestions, but that sounds quite a nasty problem.
I have got the same problem... any ideas how to fix it without hard reset?
I have two such icons .. HTC people and HTC calendar. It seems it has something to do with turning corresponding tabs off and on again.
Yes it would me nice to fix it without hard reset Any suggestions?

How do you turn the corresponding tabs off and on?
Another thing hhen you go to the setting en press menu on the right corner then press more then nothing appears/happen?
Settins / personalize / home screen tabs
And I can confirm it .. first I had no such icons. Then I disabled calendar tab. Still nothing. Then I enabled calendar tab. And THC Calendar icon with no picture (only default one) showed up in the start menu. Now if I remove the tab, the icons gets removed too. But as I enable the tab again, icon is back.
Same for HTC People icon.
Only tweak I use which could have something to do with this enabling all settings icon in start menu (via BsB tweaks).

I see what you mean thanks for the effort, but with these icons the htc has no problems, its with icons you see when you press the windows logo button, its a long list with all the installed applications. In this screen they all disapeared except the today icon.
Some help from anybody would be very appreciated?
Hmmm
I had the same issue.
Flashed 1.48 over it.
Havn't had the problem since.
Check this dudes thread for additional/replacement icons...stunning stuff!

Updating rom solved the problem thanks for help me out!!
Any other solution available other then updating my ROM...cause it's already up-to-date.
I got this issue after a soft reset by BsB Tweaks.

Additional info:
- I'm using a Dutch ROM (so "\Windows\Startmenu\Program files" is called "\Windows\Startmenu\Programma's" )
- It happened after a soft reset after altering the Led Notifications/Message Notification setting
(I think the soft reset itself might have caused it)
- I have been moving startmenu items around using my ActiveSync connection
All I've found on the forum thus far is: Hard reset your device...but I really don't wanna.
Damn, it happened again. I'm stuck with just the Today icon again.
For a while I thought: leave it be. With Co0kie's Home Tab I can access all applications I need.
But I recently noticed that I cannot access my advanced settings screen either... and there's no shortcut for that.
Too bad, nobody came up with a solution that doesn't require a hard reset or ROM Update (which basically means the same: Clean slate).
Anyone?

Changed my lockscreen wallpaper now Sense won't launch

Hi Guys,
I'm having a little problem with my phone. After a lot of tweaking yesterday, I finally had my phone working perfectly. In a final change, I just tried to change the lockscreen wallpaper to a custom picture. I'm not sure what happened but, on restarting the phone, I'm getting:
'unable to start HTC Sense, tap here to try again'
and obviously can't get back to the home screen to change the wallpaper back via the sense settings although I can navigate the regular settings menu via the start tab and Sense is ticked in the settings. I've gone to the gallery and deleted the picture I assigned to the wallpaper but it's still showing when I restart the device.
Now, as I said, I've added a lot of cabs and made a lot of reg-tweaks and would really prefer not to do a hard reset if I can help it and have to do them all again. I changed the font on the device yesterday and don't know if that is related to the problem but I navaigated through the settings and removed that cab but still no joy.
Any help would be great, more specifically if I can restore the phone to earlier settings or maybe change the lockscreen wallpaper via the registry?
Thanks in advance
I don't know if this will work but try, windows, settings, (menu - all settings), today and unclick use this wallpaper as a background. You can also tab across and untick HTC sence and try restartng your phone
Thanks for the tip. I just ended up hard resetting anyway and everything's working ok now. I tried unticking sense but no joy.
Thanks
I think I've found the solution (at least before hardresetting):
Goto KHEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC
Just delete the key MANILA (back up to a file before you delete if you want)
Reset

HD2 default slidelock disappear

I install the duck 6.5 lockscreen on my HD2 but there no effect after reboot.
I uninstall it however after reboot the default slidelock disappear.
Instead, the wm6.5 lockscreen reappeared.
How can I change back to the HTC slidelock?
Thanks a lot for any help!!
suggestion:
home screen - settings, click menu - advanced, select lock and and then the tab "screen". from the drop down menu, select the "windows standard" that is not selected (there are two in the list with identical names).
this at least works for me, changing from one lockscreen to another.
ps. these menu names and placements are translation from the norwegian ROM, so dont kill me if they are not identical
Thanks for your reply.
I've tried the two different items from the dropdown menu and both can't work. I think these setting is for the orignal screenlock for wm6.5 , not the HTC's own slidelock.
Anyway, thanks.
for me the lower one is htc's screen lock, and the upper one is the old MS one. i think i needed to soft reset to get the effect.
anyways, im sorry its not working for you

Lost "Phone" and "Menu" softkeys in bottom taskbar on startscreen after setup ExServe

Lost "Phone" and "Menu" softkeys in bottom taskbar on startscreen after setup ExServe
Hello all,
after setting up my companies exchange server I somehow lost the "phone" and the "menu" softkeys in the bottom taskbar on the startscreen (refer to attached picture). On all other screens like "email", "camera", "twitter", a.s.o. the softkeys appear normal and work fine.
As a sidenotice: The exchange server forces the phone to set up a device lock (4 digit passcode, whenever the phone the risen from sleep mode).
When I kill the outlook email account and disable the device lock, the home screen returns to "normal", meaning the softkeys again are available.
It seems to me, that somehow the forced device lock is causing the startscreen, and only the startscreen, to loose the link to the normally assigned softkeys.
Is it possible to set up the softkeys on the bottom taskbar manually? I am no expert in this and approach you kind guys with a lot of hope that someone can help me as I am really lost in what to do in that case. Spent already hours on different forums searching, but did not find something really helpfull .
Thank you so much!
Matri *just lost*
I tried to bring back the softkeys by using BSBTweaks 1.6. Asigning the left softkey to e.g. evernotes did not yield any results on the startkeys.
Also modification of the registry keys did not lead to success. When I look u the respective keys in HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/ there is the correct entry for the left softkey. The values for the right softkey were blank. I tried to change them like this:
HomeLSKText: Rechner
HomeLSKPath: \Windows\calc.exe
No results unfortunatelly after softreset.
I really do not know what is going on there.
After endless testing it became very apparent, that the problem is caused only after the reboot of the HD2. The encoding of the phone due to to forced policy seems to change the homescreen slighly and makes it buggy.
Still do not now how to solve the issue. Webadming of my company is lost, too. Disableing the enforcing of the policy for me is - obviously - no option. Contacted HTC for support.
