Program to open CSV Format in X1? - XPERIA X1 General

Guys,
Anyone know what program to be used in X1 to open file with CSV format?

Depends on what you want to use it for. If you just want to read it, use MADE. Possibly some other text editor, but I found that MADE does a good job where others couldn't.

try MS Excel mobile

Select the rapidshare mirror as the developer homepage is no longer available.

I'm using wa2, flash and mortscript.
-I use wa2 to control the some system aspects
-I use flash instead of Wad.
- I use Mortscript to execute all commands, so that the commands can be changed after building the flash.exe. Images are not changable outside flash yet, but I'm going to try that later, so every image can be changed.

I'm gonna update this as often as possible.
EDIT: ---And thanks to larna for publishing the icontact app
Very, very nice.
Have you thought of doing that in C ? It would be much faster i guess.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

Wow.
I was told that that couldn't be done on a ppc because of graphics limitations...
Where can I get it?
PLEASE keep developing this!

If i knew programming it would be nice I started making this a week ago, and it was really really difficult for me, because I didn't even know flash, and actionscripts for ppc was difficult to find and get to work properly.. like the sip command etc...
Thanks for the comments!
Well, iContact was my first app written in c for win32. And it was and still is difficult.
I started with similar to yours, in C. If you decide to try to redo your app in C i'll be glad to help.
Good luck.

Because it seems to be very nice application, is it possible to have a download link, please?
Thanks.

This application is just a "semi" application. It will probably not work good on all devices, since I've implemented some commands that probably are specific for wm2003.
It's made in Flash, and Flash communicates with mortscript for all external commands (to open apps, import ram, change backlight, etc), except some "sip" commands and a few more.
The links to the apps can be changed through the mortscripts, but not the icons for now. I will try and research for a way to do it, but "flashplayer 7 for ppc" can only read normal jpg, so i'm not sure if it is possible. In worst case after I'm finished, I'll at least share the .fla file for tweaking, with some basic documentation.
You will also need a flash compiler that can build .exe files of flash files for ppc.
Thanks for your reply. I hope that you are going to make a full working application and share it with us.
Thank you.

sorry... I'm pretty busy getting the mp3 player to work properly... it seems that the flashprojector has problems reading xml files outside the compiled .exe file.
I'm trying to get a workaround, but with my feeble actionscript skills it takes a long time...
(the thing is that the xml files is needed to add songs, and load mp3s... not the perfect way to do it but the only way to do it with flash...) I'll post more on this subject tomorrow.
Some bad news: since you have VGA resolution, and this uses qVGA resolution, it probably won't look good on your device. I will hopefully have an .exe compiled until friday.
Sorry to bring an old thread back. Can you narrow the/a application to just the animation of the opening and closing of applications for the ones that dont want the complete app but want the window animations?

Make Your own Panel (I think)

Hi All,
Don't know if somebody already posted this, but I couldn't find a thread about it.
I just saw a link in a Dutch forum regarding a website where you can create your own panel.
Here's the link: http://www.mysonyericssonblog.com/x1panelcreator/index.php?step=1&lang=en
It's just that my Italian is not that good, so I cannot find the guide. Maybe somebody here can find it and explain how it exactly works. But it sure looks promising.
Herman
Here is the English tutorial
BTW. It's an HTML panel designer
WOW Nice find,
without reading it all yet, will do later, it looks like it will be incredibly simple to do something such as a program launcher.
cool, i'm thinking of making a Hyves panel (dutch facebook like social website)..
Groet, Steven
this sounds great but i dont know how to program in html
anyone one able to give me a basic guide
Wow! This is a great find!
Now I just need to come up with some good panel ideas...
Nice!
What you guys want?

Get hold of a WYSIWYG website editor and use one of those..
I think dreamweaver is still available as a trial, try that to build what you want to see, then save the page as html.
otherwise there's huge amounts of websites that give tutorials on html, it's not difficult at all.
SE Panel SDK supports native panel (i.e. panel developed using windows programming technique) and html-based panel. the latter will be more designer-friendly, but probably won't be sophiscated as the native since API will be limited. That said, with all the panel request on running certain app as the background, I got to say html-based panel might just well do the job.
This is a really awesome find. Makes things simpler/quicker...

Sounds like a good idea.
At the minute im just making a simple development panel.
Just so people can see how it works when they look at the HTML of the panel etc.
Ive managed to open .exe's etc, just wondering how to open sections of the .exe.
For example: clock.exe opens up the alarm bit where you can set alarms. However im wondering if the tabs on that part are also part of clock.exe
Does anyone know how I can access \\Windows of my X1 on my PC? I can only seem to access it using Total Commander on my X1 and to be honest. Its hard to scroll through thousands of files on such a small screen lol
how about a games panel?

Thats dependant on the games you have installed. I could do it with the games already on the phone but other than that, each person would have to customise it for their own phone

As long as you've got activesync or the vista version installed you should be able to go through my computer.. But I'm on my linux machine at the mo so can't say what exactly the path is.
I don't think you can overwrite files in x1 windows btw direct from the pc.

Wanted, time calculator for pocket pc help!

I want a simple calculator for my leo that i can use to ad up times (as in mins and hours) to give a total. You would think this would be easy to find but sadly i havent been able to find one and was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend something that would work.
Thanks for the help;
Andy
Excel?
Enter numbers in time format hh:mm then =SUM(cells)*24
learn yourself some c# and code it yourself? I know that sounds mean but I don't have any other answer - but thats how I got an MPG and cost/mile calculator that suited all my needs.
I dont have time at the moment to get into C# sadly. It is on my list of things to do but not going to be anytime soon.
I guess i could use excel, but i have been struggling to get my brain working on the easiest way to add the hours/mins up and get a decent answer.
I had tried sum(cellrange) but didnt get an hh:mm answer, i ended up with decimal mins!
Search for TimeCalc, an old (free) app, but functional.

In Excel you have to enter the time in the format hh:mm then sum the cells and multiply the answer by 24 (Excel converts the hh:mm to a fraction of 24h). the answer should then be in the format hh:mm.

Thanks for the link, i dont suppose you have seen a cab anywhere? I use linux so .exe activesync installs are a no go.
The .exe in the zip is not a setup program, it's the app itself. So no need for a cab. Just copy the file anywhere on your phone and create a shortcut to it in the start menu and you are set.
Sweet thanks
I've been looking for a new coding project to further my small bit of c# knowledge, so I might take this on for you, make a fully english one
Sounds good to me! For now timecalc should see me through it just looks a bit "old school". I guess the real challenge would be to get a nice sense style timecalc.

[Info]E-reader

Just thought i would share my search for a good e-reader for my HD2.
I have not installed doc tabs or ereader from HTC so looking for 3rd party options.
Freda looks ok - but nothing special that stands out. just a good solid app.
Lexcycle - dont do one for WM.
Mobipocket seems interesting and snazzy with desktop integration and is the one i chose -it does sync, and guttenberg also has mobipocket files, and it can import pdf and html and text etc. it seems well featured with most features you would expect and want.
HOWEVER, just be warned that the cab from their website did not work on first install. I had to uninstall it, and then install to my device via the mobipocket desktop software before touch navigation and menus would work.
It seems adequately features and not as nice as stanza, but OK. If you have touchscreen woes though, install through the desktop app.
Other suggestions are of course welcome.
I think there is one called AIreader that everyone recommends...might want to look it up.
I haven't tried it personally...I like the HTC ereader, but I need to find the cab for it alone since my new rom doesn't have it on it...
I am in love with AlReader! Just perfect!
Im attaching the (freeware) English version. Hope that's okay (it's so hard to find on the web)
I'll give it a try tomorrow and update my post
p.s. I am reluctant to give htc's ereader a whirl as apparently it is quite buggy.
I also like this one...but it would be soooo cool if we got a fingerfriendly version for our HD2...anyone up to the task.
I admit I still have a longing for the tabbed interface and large book covers that you get from the HTC e-reader

Yup that is the one is perfect for the HD2 and I love how you turn pages (I inverted top tapping to forward a page and bottom tapping to return to previous page) I found it to be very good, fast and with a lot of extra options

I don't believe I will be able to fish it out in the next 36 hours (wprking both days and v. busy tonight), but if you can wait a day or two (or someone else comes through) then please check back!!
The best Ebook reader on Windows Mobile is Allreader+. Unfortunately it isn't free but is worth the money, it can read all the important formats as far as I'm concerned and it has so many options that allow you to set it up exactly as you want.
Other options which are good are uBook and Mobireader.

Of course Freda already has finger-friendly navigation (configurable swipes and taps) to change page etc. As for finger-friendly settings screens, bookmarking and table-of-contents navigation, I am working on it ...

Thanks for Freda by the way, it really is gorgeous. I think I will end up using it over AlReader when it loads a little faster and can open in fullscreen mode by default.
But love it!

Can you check the build number on your start-up flash screen. If it is less than 804, it might be worthwhile for you to download a new version (use the dropbox link on my website) - because build 804 should be capable of starting up in fullscreen mode.
Cheers,

To be honest, adding support for extra formats is not one of my priorities for Freda development - because it would make the program bigger, slower and buggier, and in the long run I expect EPUB to become the format of choice.
That said ...
1) As Freda is open-source, someone else might feel differently, and might develop a version to read additional formats. I'm doing some refactoring at the moment, so that adapting Freda in this way will become fairly simple.
2) Calibre is a good (PC based) package that can convert various formats into EPUB; it might be a good solution for you.

Big thumbs up here for Freda! Finally an e-reader which natively supports epub format. No more hassle of converting with Calibre and using Mobipoicket (although not a bad e-reader).

Wikipedia?

Does anyone know of an application that allows one to use Wikipedia on the HD2, it doesn't have to be offline viewing. I'm just looking for a faster way to access Wikipedia without loading up a browser. If someone could supply a .CAB file of the application, that would be superb.
I am also looking for a decent Wikipedia application, similar to Wikipanion on iPhone. Can anyone recommend one ? Or may be develop ? )))

I downloaded both english and italian wikipedia dumps, and the only thing stopping me from creating an mdict version is that there are no pre-made tools to do it under my server's linux OS, and I don't want to keep my windows workstation turned on overnight.
Plus, it's a pity but virtualbox crashes my ubuntu server so virtualizing xp is not a feasible way of doing things...
