Hi all, I'm a newbie here, tried searching for the answer to my problem but with no luck.
I'm trying to transfer music onto my Touch HD, I've installed the software and have tried to drag and drop music into the 'My Music' folder in 'Mobile Device', all this does though is fill the phone memory so how do I put the music onto the SD card instead?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Use Windows Explorer, navigate to your device, goto /Storage Card. make a new folder /storage card/Music and you can drag music there. you get the best results if you make /Artist/Album directories for each album and include a Folder.jpg for each album art.

make a folder on the sd card name My Music, that should work
Not possible Unless someone finds a way to edit it in the manila files. It just searches the storage card for all media. So my suggestion to you would be to have all the other audio on your internal storage or use another player. I don't even use the TF3D player. I used to think it was all awesome, but screw it, S2P and CorePlayer ftw! WMP is good, no doubt. If you want a really good player, buy Conduits Pocket Player

actually that's what i did ..but still ..didn't work
Any work around to this issue?
Yeah does anyone know?
It's picking up the mp3 from my Nimbuzz folder and other program folders, i have a Music folder but it picks everything.
I have a new TMO TP2, and am somewhat puzzled as to why the TF3D music player can't find the music that I've synced onto my storage card. Windows Media player sees the music just fine, but the TF3D one can't (it only sees the songs in the main storage).
The music is in a "Music" folder on the storage card, as it is in the main storage.
Any ideas?
Tried restarting TF3D or soft reset? After modifying some files by connecting the device to my PC as storage drive, the music player wouldn't recognize my files stored on storage card.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I had done both a restart of TF3D and a soft reset with no success.
Not sure how many songs you added to your storage card, but mine (~120 files) took several minutes before they showed up on the TP2. I believe I had gone to Library -> "All Songs tab" and then let it refresh/populate.

I did upload a significant number of songs (100+), but had my phone on for a long time (while I continue to tweak it!) and nothing has changed. I don't see any options under "Library" or anywhere else to refresh. Windows Media Player has such a feature (which I tried), but the TF3D player doesn't see anything.
I also tried to manually copy over a artist folder from the storage card onto the main storage (alongside the songs already there). Again, the TF3D doesn't recognize it.

There isn't a refresh button as such, but I recall bouncing between the different sub-tabs after clicking "Library" and it said something to the effect of "searching".
How about try moving everything from the phone's "MUSIC" folder to the storage card "MUSIC" folder (i.e. phone's "MUSIC" folder completely empty) and let it 're-search' on its own...
i have the same issues! i recently purchased an formated (FAT32) 8GB sd card, and synced my music from windows media player 11 through active sync. the music is on the card fine and i can play the music through windows media player, BUT not on the touch flo music player.
why is this happening?
i have a the files in a "MUSIC" file on the storage card same as the person who posted this issue.
When I first added my music to the Storage Card nothing showed up in TF3D either. I then deleted the music in the Music folder on my main storage and when I when to touch flo Audio tab it said searching. I opened up library and when I clicked all songs they started to appear. You might try that.
hi all, try my solution.. after moving mp3 to device / delete
then
You need to rename the follow file to "AudioManager_Eng.vol.vol"
Device/Application Data/HTC/AudioManager_Eng/AudioManager_Eng.vol
Soft Reset . . . . New AudioManager_Eng.vol will be created.
Had the same exact problem.
Although in the beginning, it did work. Would find all music on storage card and device, in numerous folders.
Then after deleting some of the music and maybe a file or 2 in one of the music folders, and doing lots of copy/pasting of music from pc to card and card to device, then changing folder names, etc, the TF3D music player could not find music anymore. Tried everything could think of, no luck. Can not figure out exactly what caused this.
Took out storage card, did a 'Clear Storage' from the settings/system tab and then all was fine again. Had to reinstall my programs, no problem. Now TF3D music player finds all music on card and device once again.
I have searched everywhere, but I know this has to have been listed before.
I have about 4gb of music I'm syncing from my PC, but when I pull up music on phone (no playlist) I see all the music on my device AND the music I synced.
I want to ONLY see the music I add. For photos, there was a reg key I added to set which folders were ignored. Is there a way to do that for music as well?
Ur Own Music
zim 2323 - this drove me cRaZy for a couple of weeks until I downloaded OMarket and got "Nitrogen".
I can click and drag my music from my PC instead of having to sync (if you have already d/l double twist - get rid of it - more pain than it's worth) and the system music files are omitted in Nitrogen.
I did the same thing and it ONLY shows the music I added?! I am having trouble understanding what you are trying to do?! I dont have music on the phone and it only pools what I have on my storage card. When i first loaded music it said it was searching for music and it found everthing I added.

Hey Zim Yes, I think there's a regedit method for this, but the way I do it is to just figure out which folders I need to exclude and then navigate to them in Total Commander, long-press, and choose "properties"...you can then choose to hide the folder just like in regular windows. For me, it turned out that just hiding the "program files" folder on the SD card was enough, but I'm sure you can handle it if there's more you need to hide.
Unfortunately I can't hide program files on the sd card because I have to see the folder for software I use/install.
I also do not want to use 3rd party media players. I want to load music and play natively in sense.
When I goto music TAB it finds every MP3 on ROM nad SD memory. I only want to see music located in \storage card\my documents\music.

No folder that I've hidden this way seems to be invisibile to me or the sys...they still show up in file explorer, and are still directly accessible by apps etc, they just don't get indexed.
hi,
i am having problem in audio manager and also in wmp.. problem is i have songs arranged in few folders, but it shows only song not in folder so i am having difficulty in creating a playlist.. i cant use desktop as it has many songs and my phone has selected amount of it.. can any one guide me to how to view and select a whole folder for a playlist?
Are the folders placed in a centralized location: i.e. My Device\\My Documents or Storage Card\\My Documents\\Music.
its in root of storage card..
Try moving those folders to Storage Card\\My Documents\\Music.
Then in Windows Media Player choose to do a search for media.
Hi Community,
I've had a good rummage around the forum and can't find what im looking for.
Problem: Samsung won't detect my MP3 files (in either stock music player or winamp).
What I've tried:
Drag and drop to my external SD.
Syncing with winamp.
Formatting the SD card in the phone and dragging music over.
Using mediafix.
Placing music on internal card (still not detected).
Retagging mp3's (all are on ID3 V1.x)
Nothing works. The music is on the SD card but no app will find it. All tagged correctly and working on my spare HTC desire.
Test make folder called Songs on External SD card drab & drop one MP3 in it .
Open stock music player .

Did you make sure you did not dump your files into a folder that also has the little file called ".nomedia" ?
Solved
Hi
i found the solution.. the download service I had used to get my mp3's has prefixed each file name with a full stop i.e ".makeyoufeelmylove.mp3".
I didn't know this but anything prefixed with a full stop tells linux to hide that file. This media scanner was not detecting the music.
Hope this helps someone in future.
