I have this problem: sometimes the screen becomes white, and after rebooting (but not always) returns normal. the keys hardware do not work, but only those on the flip flowing.
I have upgrade the software, wm6 or wm5, radio from 1,43 to 1,50, ri-unblocked. nothing. the problem remains.
solutions? ideas!?
thanx

If you look at the list of posts near the top you will see a sticky post called "search XDA-Dev using Google" all you need to do is enter a few key words like white screen.
As an example here are the results I got. The one top of the list is relevant:

Can someone tell me exactly screen by screen what happens when you first boot after a flash? My screen is currently white with random lines and I need to get to the main menu so I can use mymobiler. If someone can post or point me to screenshots, thatd be great also.
Thanks.
I'm SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, to see that Google still hasn't fixed the bug where during screensaver, if you tap the screen, sometimes it wakes the phone and sometimes it turns the display completely off.
Also a bit of a new bug I encountered last night when I plugged the phone in. It was auto-updating apps, and screensaver came on, and it appeared to flash back to the home screen briefly to "show" the notification that the update had completed for a given app, and then back to screensaver. Only happened once though.
FFS guys.
EDIT: Thanks Stephen, apparently I'm still a novice and didn't realize I could change the thread subject. Corrected a typo.
If you want to edit the thread title, click the edit button and then the go advanced button. There is an option there to change the thread title. If you want to close the thread, let me know and I can do that for you.
Many thanks,
Stephen
I am an 80-year-old newbie and I apologise that I sent this question to the wrong forum yesterday.
Is it possible to place a small message on the locked screen: 'Reward if returned:contact phone number'?
Hi folks,
One of the first things I set up on my 6T was the lock screen message, such that if someone found my phone, they could call a number or email me to help return it. I'm an optimist, eh?
But I just noticed the message doesn't show after a reboot, before the first unlocking of the device following the reboot.
Is there some way to force it to show the message? It's silly if someone finds it but it has powered off meanwhile, that the contact info won't show.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Before unlocking the data is encrypted and therefore inaccessible.
I don't think you can make that work as you want to.
Rather than fussing intensely on this, I could always put my info on a slip of paper taped to the back of the phone, covered by the Karbon case, easily found on inspection by a phone-finder...

If you're handy with photo editing software, you can add the text that you want to display onto an image and set that as you lock screen wallpaper. It'll be behind the shade of the lock screen so not necessarily as clear as the other text, but would still be visible. And you would want to place the text so that it won't be covered by the clock on the regular lock screen.
Unless if you're living in japan, then i think the chances of someone returning it would be 0

thanks for this. I've actually done this on my son's iPhone years ago when they didn't have a lock screen message function that I could find. So it's a good idea to see again. I will look into it and figure out something!
