how can i open mp3 files from the file explorer? it says it doesn't have a program for it.
if i open it in WMP it works. but why not file explorer?

This can happen because some music players change the file associations. Not to worry though you can use total commander or gsfinder (both free - just google them) and change the file association
eg with GSFinder:
(Menu) - View > Options > File Types (tab)
then pick the program you want to open them eg Windows Media Player or other player.

you can just do it using registry hacks, and file associations within particular software.
locate the .*** file that you want to reassociate, change the association path in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

how to set file associations to particular program...
i installed 'RESCO EXPLORER' which has option 'open with'. i tried opening '.cab' file through it with 'open with' program as explorer. it ran that '.cab' file once. after that i m not able to run any other '.cab' file. when i try to open any '.cab' file even through in-built WM explorer, nothing happens and explorer hangs.. i think i have messes up with file associations.
Can anybody pls tell how to associate '.cab' file to appropriate program??

I wonder where the sound files that can be selected for SMS and Mail sound are located. There are a lot in the list but can't find them in any folder.
I want to add new sounds and need to know where to place them. Thanx.

Ringtones go in /my documents/my ringtones
SMS and mail go in /windows, you probably can't find any 'cos you're using the in built and very bad file explorer.
Try total commander (lots of cabs and a website so search for it) it's freeware and superb to let you really see what's on your device..
I placed both of mine in My Documents and they work fine...

I installed TC and now I see Windows folder.
I have TC on PC (Windows Visat) too and it doesn't show the phone at all. But I see limited folders on Windows Explorer. Is there any setting or another program to use on PC to see ALL folders. Thanks.

In windows explorer:
Tools > Folder options > make sure to check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "hide protected files"
you'll be able to acces the phone's windows folder in your windows explorer
Is it possible to change something in ex. regedit soo that a certain program can open my files.
Ex. i have some moveis in .mov format but i have to open the program and then the file instead of the other way...
With Resco Explorer you can tap and hold and select open with and check "always open with this program". I don't know how its done with other file explorers because i don't use them.

Is thr any option to select multiple files in Mega? Whenever i try to do the selection by moving down the finger on the screen it starts scrolling files instead of selection. Any tweaks???

Its not possible in Mega with the default File Explorer, you have two options.
1. Google for File Explorer extension for Mega
2. use a different file explorer like total commander / resco which has these functions inbuilt
Mutiple file selsction is possible
There is stock file explorer with mutiple file selection, Just need to cab it somehow. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611783
