Hey guys,
I am looking since hours for a Desktop solution to download podcasts (mpeg4) and after download is complete and / or when my Xperia X1 is connected, copy / sync it to my phone so I can play the podcast with coreplayer for example.
I do not want a PPC Program, since I dont have a flatrate to download. I would like a program for my Computer that syncs with my phone after download. And it shouldnt be itunes or any other big big big program
If you have any, I would be glad if you can share it ;-)

you should be able to do it with WMP, you can set up a sync using activesync/wmdc
you can also manually copy files across to the SD card pretty easily.
true, I am doing this for all my MP3...
but how can I download Podcasts with WMP?

Hi i would like to use my Wizard as my main Media Device, i have an old ipod mini but i would like to have the same features as the ipod for podcast on my wizard.
As of now i use Juice (former Ipodder) and sync my podcasts with windows Media Player ---> this soulution stinks, ints buggy as hell and far to slow, the podcast in the media library get updated far to slowly, an sometimes it misses new entries...
I would like a program that sits on my desktop and has the ability to sync podcast seamlessly with my wizard and vidcasts to i can`t just sync the folder were i download all that stuff becouse it de vidcast ar far to big for my one gigger miniSD so i need a programm that takes the .avi (divx) or MPG4 and recodes them for my wizard!
PLEASE help me i am getting so pissed of by Windows Media Player
When you find a solution, let me know! I would like exactly the same thing. I am currently doing similiar to you, downloading podcasts/vidcasts with PodNova and then synching them using Windows Media Player. The problem I face is that WMP doesn't support m4v files, so I can't even get those files to sync using the WMP auto playlist synching. Boooo.
Have you tried Skookum Subscriber?
I've know of two programs for podcatching directly on the PPC:
Skookum Subscriber is in beta and looks like it has some potential, but truth be told I haven't tried it out yet:
http://www.skookummobile.com/index.html
There's also SmartFeed. I've used it for about a month now and it's OK but the UI is a bit wonky: It doesn't work with the keyboard on the SX66, you can't move between podcasts using the navigation pad, there's no way (that I've found) to select multiple podcasts for deletion, and after deleting a podcast nothing is selected by default which forces you to tap on another podcast to do anything.

Hello,
I have tried searching but have not found anything within this forum, probably 'cos I am a SFU. ;¬)
Anyhow, is there a way that I can get iTunes Podcast subscription and download functionality on my HTC Nike?
I am hoping to find (or be told of) an application that I can view a catalogue of podcasts, subscribe to them, have them auto downloaded to my PC and then the next time I sync my Nike the podcasts are uploaded to my phone so that I can watch them off line (when on the train)
I use my iPod for music (easily done on the Nike) and for video podcasts and I would like to do it all via the Nike.
Any thoughts?
TIA
Cuch
also intrested of podcast.... anybody?
I have been digging around and it looks like searching under PoadCAST is not the correct thing to do. Search under PodCATCHER and you will find a few apps.
Have also discovered that I can simply copy the vid/podcasts onto my memory card and all is well.
I belive that you could go someway in doing this via Windows Media Player on your PC, but have not had enough time to dig further.
HTH
Normally i carry my ipod..but tomorrow i wanna try X1 as my music player.
which is the best way to get music on it?
drag n drop .. or use Windows media player to sync?
or is there a better way?
a matter of taste really
if you want to keep using itunes you can
use itune agent to sync to your x1
How do you do that?
It will be awesome if i can sync my Itunes to my xperia. I have a 16GB SD card i want to put some stuff into lol.
I use foobar to listen on pc and whenever I want something on the device I just copy/paste it from the player to the phone. Simple as that.
you use itune agent but
well downloading and using it

You can only synchronize ONE iTunes playlist to your device with iTune agent. There are two other programs that should be able to synchronize multiple playlists with your device: Salling Media Sync and Pocket Tunes.
yes man you can mange you music withe this step
setting > Connection> usb to pc > and select Disk Drive it is Better and speed
I have tried everything. The best music player/manager for any windows mobile device, is strangely a freeware app, Mortplayer. I have installed this on my wife's X1i, and it displays beautifully, even album art etc. There is now an update for this app with a nice Vista style skin. Other skins are available. Very cool MP3 player indeed. It also plays Ogg files etc etc etc.
Just did a search on the forum and noticed that no one had mentioned iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net/).
"iTunes Agent is a tiny application which rests in your system tray, constantly looking for devices being connected to your system. If a device it recognizes is connected it enables you to manage it via a playlist in iTunes. You may even associate your player with a Smart Playlist, such as "Party Shuffle", and always have a new collection of tracks on your player!
When you are done modifying the list of tracks for your player you can synchronize it with two small mouse-clicks!"
I thought it was good to mention as i have a itunes server service which i use for music and also a ipod touch and keeping them all in sync inc HD2 and any other device is very handy.

This does a similar sort of thing, doesnt need to start with windows and hide in your tray though!
itunes and HTC HD2
Can itunes be downloaded and purchase the songs, games, and music on the
windows os? Are the games scaled to work on the HTC HD2? If so, how do you do this?

music will work videos might work and games defiantly wont work at all.
itunes sync
Found a very good free app (doubletwist) that syncronizes itunes / iphoto/ video libraries between the Mac and any storage device. I have been using it on the HTC HD2 for a week and it syncs all the playlists from itunes and even photos and videos. it is linked to amazon music store and content can be downloaded directly. The interface is just like itunes and seems very very easy to use...just select your device from the panel, select playlists and click sync....all the playlists created get recognised by the HTC sense media player.. google doubletwist and download ...and you are all set.....
doubletwist
doesn't work for me. my hd2 is running windows mobile 6.5 and while the app recognizes my device after it's plugged into my computer and also sees the itunes files and playlists, nothing shows up after the supposed sync takes place.
Interested in such an app for my HD2 on WM 6.5
Tried Itunes agent, not really user friendly and didnt manage to add my HD2 on it.
Ive got loads on myusic on itunes, would like to put one of my playlist songs (around 500 mbs of music) on my HD2.. is there a simple way? Copying items from itunes doesnt seem to work.. and there is a mix of MP3 files and AAC files... will they read allright on HD2?
If they where bought from the iTunes store..and no explicitly DRM free, then no, they will not work no matter how you copy them to your device.
Has anyone figured out how to transfer podcasts to a WP8 device and have them be recognized by the OS as podcasts (instead of just plain songs)? There must be a way because the desktop sync app is able to pull downloaded podcasts from your itunes library and have them show up as actual podcasts on the phone.

Amen! Would love to be able to just copy my MP3 books into the podcast directory and then be able to listen to them using the built in podcast player. Then my bookmarks are saved and it works flawlessly.
iTunes Work Around
Hi all
This was posted in the WPCentral forums:
"I just managed to get some podcasts onto my phone... (thanks to a suggestion from @TheRomit on Twitter)
If you've not already got it installed, install iTunes (bare with me)... and find your podcast(s) in the iTunes Store. Subscribe to them, and let it download at least one episode of each.
Then crank up the Windows Phone sync tool, and import settings from iTunes. You should see your podcasts appear under the Xbox music app. From there you can then hit Subscribe, and it should automatically down your podcasts (when you're plugged into power, and on wifi). I haven't tried the last bit yet, but it let me subscribe fine."
God bless

IIRC, later in that very thread the guy corrects his instructions and notes that subsequent episodes DO NOT automatically download.
