Hey i just got my X1 yesterday im loving it!
im switching over from the touch pro and i was just wondering does anyone have the x1 working with the "epc.tmobile.com" hack that lets you browse on $5.99 internet?
or is there a different setup that we have to use because its not working on my phone
Try searching for the settings in the TMO section of howardforums.com
yes it works
has nothing to do with what phone it is as long as you have an unlocked one where you can change settings

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Universal in the US on Cingular? I just bought an unlocked one for $440 I have an 8525. I know it wont use the 3g like my 8525, but I was wondering if it still will be somewhat OK? Also is it possible for me to use my 8525 to give wireless connection to my universal? I think I could live with that.
I currently havae an Orange M5000 on cingular right now. It works fine.

How did you get all the sms mms Internet settings on? Also how are your Gprs speeds?
I don't have Cingular, but www.wireless.att.com is where I would start, and after about 3 minutes, I found this:
http://www.wireless.att.com/businesssupport/deviceConfig.do?content=KB71266.html
It had pictures and everything. Here's the deal: It says it is for an 8525, but a Windows Mobile phone is a Windows Mobile phone. The procedure is the same.
HTH,
Jeff
did basically what the last guy said. I used an hp from the support page and to setup the gprs. it was easy and it works great. i also use the internet sharing to connect it to my laptop and its pretty quick.
Sup,
My friends having problems connecting to IM+ with his Tilt using the $19.99 Total Internet plan (internet2.voicestream.com). Is there anything have to be done with the ports? He says that he can go on webpages but no instant messaging. Any help?
Thanks
I'll help by pointing out that you need to ask this in a different area of this forum.
This it the Titan forum, and the Titan is a CDMA phone- It doesn't work on AT&T, so we wouldn't know anything about ATT's data network!!
Go ask in the Kaiser area.
damn it, i just noticed that, thanks, i figured it out tho, just had to change to port 8080 on IM+ if anyone was wondering, but yeah again, my bad, i thought this was the TYTN forum. srry
Anyone using this successfully ? I'm looking to buy this phone, want to make sure someone is happy with the phone on the T-mobile network first.
a lot of members are using tmobile w/ unlocked 8525...works great for me in CA, NV, TX, etc....
works great for me, running WM6. only issue is i can't use mms for some reason. doesn't send or receive. also IE crashes when trying to log into sites like gmail.com
update: I finally got MMS to finally work.
I'm using mine on T-Mobile in Colorado, works great! Just go to the t-mobile site and find the wireless configurator, choose the HTC Wing as your phone and use those settings.
i'm using it t-mobile Oklahoma
Great phone
I have an 8525 sim and CID unlocked and use it everywhere in the world! In the USA, I'm on T-Mobile, but currently I've been on China Mobile for 4 months and the phone works great! Many people here have HTC phones, I used to think of WM6 as for techies, but lots of people have it!

I've never had a crash on any website using PIE, and I'm on the internet often. Could be your rom's security, cache, memory, etc. settings.

Im using a 8525 with t-mobile in Florida. So far, I had been working some days, some others no, regarding the internet access. At this moment, is not working... and im here, in xda... looking for ways to do it... i ran almost every cab to configure, remove settings and run again new versions and nothing... i keep searching for the solution...
this forum is very helpful. i think i will have it working.
t-mobile support is very unresponsive, i got tired of call them and have the same stupid answer that the problem must be my phone because is not a t-mobile phone... instead to send me to somebody that really knows the values to put in it

Known internet issue in Florida right now - Don't waste your time configuring, you are being blocked on the Network via T-Mobiles firewall as you are using a 3G enabled phone (even with 3g "disabled) -- once t-mo finishes testing (should be soon), your phone will work again. Read the thread below, 13 pages on the Florida issue.

I've spent countless hours on the phone with T-mobile customer care, days searching the net. I tried basically every single setting possible and no matter what I do I can't connect to the internet or send MMS on my Tilt at all. Does anyone have any Idea how to get wap or mms working for t-mobile on windows mobile 6.1?

I'm hoping that you already have a data plan, if not then you might want to add it by calling the Tmobile or just add it by logging through the website. This is what I use on mine:
Go to Start>Settings>Connections>Add or Manage new connection and on Access Point Name (APN) wap.voicestream.com and hit next and just click finish.
Good Luck
thanks for the help
I had the 5.99 t-zones package which worked fine on windows mobile 6.0. After flashing 6.1 It wouldn't work and I do have the access point set to wap.voicestream.com, I'm not one to just post a question without doing my research. I tried numerous different settings and followed numerous tutorials but nothing works. I finally resorted to ordering the $19.99 Internet package and oddly it works just fine now, instead of using the access point wap.voicestream.com I changed it to internet2.voicestream.com for the 19.99 internet plan. It sucks however that I have to pay 15 dollars a month extra to enjoy what I paid only 5.99 a month for before. The reason why I don't switch back to WM 6.0 is because I have grown accustomed to the threaded sms and it's a feature I really don't want to give up. I know there's threaded sms application but nothing can compare to having it built in. If anyone has a fix for this or can give some idea's please do. I'd much rather revert back to paying 5.99 a month as opposed to the 19.99 I began paying a month today.
this is a cab file I made for the tmo $5.99 plan and arscsoft mms 4.2.8.1. It works on my wm6 rom. Maybe it'll work for you.

I will give it a try now, I have to call T-mobile and have them switch me back to the 5.99 plan. I've got my fingers crossed.
::EDIT::
After I installed your .cab file and had t-mobile switch my plan to the 5.99 t-zones it now WORKS!! Flawlessly. Dude you don't know how many threads I came across with so many people that had the same problem and just could not get this working. Maybe you should make it's own thread for this that I can link people to with the same problem, that way you'll get the credit for you work and people from other forums can be directed to xda-developers.
Again thank you for this, I really appreciate it!
Good Idea, I originally posted these in Lurches thread but he has removed his, and these were buried pretty deep.

Glad it worked for you!

Hi guys! I have searched for a thread like this and couldn't find anything I was looking for so I am very sorry to have to post a new thread!
I am now a proud G1 owner. Changed from HTC Touch Pro.
Just bought this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130364847382&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I love it already! As you can see the phone has been unlocked and I am using it on orange UK network.
I can make calls etc but when I try to access the web it says no connection available.
I can put my simcard in my old phone in my bedroom and instantly get a signal to be able to go on the web.
Any help guys?
Many thanks
Steven
You must configure your WiFi connection or your APN list in order to access the internet via carrier.
To configure your APN list search for your carrier settings here:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist
Get the parameters and create a new APN.
yeah you must have a data connection in order to view web, go to the market, sync gmail...really you need data for almost everything with these phones
Thankyou so much! Problem solved!! I absolutely love this phone compared to my HTC touch Pro! So fast! So responsive!! THANKS!
