Hi guys first post. Done many cabs, reg edits, ect on the wing I picked up two weeks ago. Love it!!
I've only had issue with audio cab's in getting them too show up and function after install.
I take it the HTC audio booster will indeed function on a wing ??
Any pointers would help or if there is a better booster/eq too use.
I was also wondering if there is a cab too upgrade the bluetooth too that used for stereo audio... ie; bluetooth headphones, not ear buds.
Many thanks too a great site and a great group of cooks!

Hi All,
I have a o2 xDA Mini S aka Wizard/QTec 9100, etc...
I've been lurking about this forum for some months now, and the other day I decided after reading good news of the Motorola HT820 headset that this would work correctly if I used the A2DP .cab file supplied in these forums.
Well, I did that and it works as intended but I seem to get a background crackling noise which gets worse the louder the music is.
I can seem to reduce it, but it never quite goes away... I've noticed a few odd messages on this forum with other users with this problem but cant determine if its something when the HT820 is paired with a 'Wizard' or not.
I've tried about 5 different PocketPC audio music players and cant seem to determine if its the phone, the bluetooth in some way or the headset itself... However, when I plug the headset into an audio jack it sounds PERFECT.
I suspect it may be the bluetooth bandwidth in some way as the headphones work fine when used as normal headphones...
After 3 days of messing with it, I've come here to hopefully get some help, determine where the problem is and hopefully help with a fix.
My ROM is the original 2.21.4.1 WWE that originally came with the phone about 4 months ago. Is anyone else getting this problem, knows a fix or has any info as to what it ould be? If we all work together, maybe we can figure this out...
Thanks all.

Hi Again,
I've been experimenting some more the last day and I cant quite seem to figure any more leads on what the problem could be related to.
Does anyone else experience this issue?
Thanks all.
Plonka2000.
I have experienced the same thing, especially with songs that are bass intensive. I have not found a solution.

Same here unfortunately
I've been experimenting a lot too, but presently still have a £40 set of headphones that sound worse than the ropey ones originally bundled with the Mini-S
Its at least good to know that other people are having the same issue.
Are you both using the Motorola HT820 as well?
Have you tried pairing it with another device to test the quality of the sound from another source.
I tried with my PC but my USB bluetooth adaptor is only BT1.0 compatible. Pairs but doesnt do anything...
What ROM versions are you guys using?
I'm still on my original 2.21.4.1 WWE that came originally with it.
Yeah - same headphones, same ROM (which I think is the latest one in any case).
I also have an XDAIIi which I wiped clean and use purely as an in-car GPS ATM. As soon as I get a chance (unfortunately rugby and beer eats up most of my spare time :? ) I'll see what I can find re an A2DP hack for the IIi and try the headphones on that.
Will post here with results (probably Monday)
hello after months of looking hard for the htc audio booster and pestering others in this forum i finally found the htc audio booster that actually works perfect on the htc athena and guess what its also in vga mode
below you will find 2 picture images of what it looks like and also the .cab file
the following things i noticed when using it is this ,,,when u pair a stereo bluetooth headset it doesnt work ,,,it only works when you use wired headphones either thru the 3.5mm or the mini usb port !
apart from that its all fine just wished they made it 10band eq would of been more serious for music listeners
please enjoy

Try TCPMP. There is equalizer which works with bluetooth stereo as well.
Hi gang,
I have been a long time Atom user. One thing that has constantly bugged me is the audio level - both in the earpiece and on Bluetooth connection to my car. Recently the IT manager at my work threw me a HTC Touch Dual (Nike) to evaluate for him. The audio (sound) level on both the earpiece and the same Bluetooth connection for the Nike is 100% better. Is there a ROM available that addresses the poor sound on the Atom or is it a restriction based on the hardware ?
I have tried a stack of searches however can't find anything that addresses this specifically ???
Phil...
OK.
Does anyone know of any registry hacks that help with $hitty audio levels for the Atom ???
After may searches there are heaps of people complaining about audio levels - not may solutions though.
Pleaseeeeee help the IT manager will be asking for the Nike back soon....
have you try SRS WOW HD plugin? it will amplify the audio
plus if u still think its soft, use the equalizer to amplify further.

Thanks Tabbe,
Two things looks like I need to upgrade the ROM to WM6.x to use SRS is that right ???
I may not have been clear enough - mainly concerned with audio levels for the phone - first in the earpiece and second for the built in speakers. Will SRS assist for these ???
Phil...
Can anyone please point me towards a software equaliser that will work on the Touch (Elf) using bluetooth headphones
Many thanks
I dnt think there is a equalizer of tht sort, once i used TCPMP which has a equalizer. try it out.
thanks I will give it a go and report back
There is a eq for HTC Touch.
Its called ' Audio Booster ' made by htc and it is present in the ONYX 4.6 ultimate ROM but it only works for headphones, not speakers.
Thanks.
Thanks for that info Jeremy89632, that sounds a better bet as TCPMP looks a bit problematic and now unsupported.
However as your option means a ROM upgrade I am a little wary as I have never done anything like that. Can you, or anyone else, give me an idiots guide to updating my ROM please.
Audio booster is available by default in Touch..but it works only when a handsfree is connected to the phone..it doesnt work wit BT handsfree. giv it a try.
In regards to rom flashing, read the wiki or jump to elf upgrading section and do a study.
[email protected], I cannot find any equalizer on my touch either with or without BT, so I guess it is only available after the ROM upgrade. I will have a look at the wiki and see if I feel confident to have aa go
Audio poster is present in recent roms and it only work when the device is paired to BT headset or a carkit
there was an old prog called SRS WOW that work on device directly but it has limited functions

I own a Elfin and I do have the audio booster when I bought it. And this doesnt work when using a BT Handsfree. Works only with a wired handsfree.
AFA SRS WOW, it workd gr8 for my music in Elfin, but somehw or othr it played havoc on my in-call volume and ringin volume. So removed it.
music normally cannot be olayed on bluetooth you need a cab called BTaudio
Well, you can upgrade your ROM to the stock ROM if you worry, and if im not wrong, the stock rom contains audio booster.
so check it out here is a workaround on the htc hero for sprint to allow you to stream music to a mono (single ear non stereo) bluetooth headset. ok so my bluetooth does not have a2dp capabilities but this works still. this is not my idea its off the android forums i found after doing some digging.
you have to have your phone on vibrate and the music, podcast whatever has to already be playing and your bluetooth already has to be paired.

Got non A2DP Bluetooth headset to play Music / podcasts
I went searching for a way to play my podcasts over a non A2DP bluetooth headset. I couldn't find anything, but I did figure out a way to make it work. I'm using a Sprint HTC Hero phone.
1. I went to the phone and dialed '**' (2 stars) which creates a 'p' for pause. Then press call. This enables the headset without actually placing a call.
2. After this I started doggcatcher (or other audio / video player) and it played through the headset. Everything went through the headset after this point.
3. In order to stop playback to my headset I just called my voicemail and hung up. At that point, audio was routed back to the speaker.
I don't know if this will work on other phones, but it did on mine.
good luck.
EDIT: I have found that it only works when my ringer volume is off or on vibrate. Also, the media volume needs to be turned up separately -- Either from the settings control or prior to performing the 'p' call. The volume rocker only controls the Bluetooth call volume after the bluetooth headset is active.

Did it work for you too ? I'm so glad I've stubbledon this . Ive been streaming over my blutooth for like 30 min
Bump!
Does this really work? Is the quality ok? I'd love to avoid spending the extra dough on one of the few pieces that supports a2dp...

Works great.
Quality of the audio all depends on the quality of your headset. Personally I stopped buying expensive ones. I buy about 1 a month any more. I lose them everytime.
I guess it can sound a little staticy or muffled at times, but I think thats more Pandora and bad reception in this Tin Can I call an office.
Works great for voice on my moto H605, but music isn't very good.
Awesome!!! Ive been searching for this for a while...
This is so cool!! I have a $30 head set from wall mart that is about good for nothing. But now I have something I can do with it.
I was able to listen to my music with my bluetooth on my last phone (which really helps to pass the time at work).
I was so excited to get the HTC Hero for Christmas this year and it is such a great phone. But I was not so excited after I discovered I could not listen to my music with my bluetooth.
Thank you for thinking of others and posting this! I spent so much time trying to figure out a way to fix this. This works great!
GSM Hero
Hey guys,
I just bought a Voyager Pro, because I thought I can listen to music. After I tried it, it didn't work. And I found out I should have one with a2dp.
I can see, that you, with CDMA can do it now.
But do you have any idea, how could I do it with my GSM Hero?
Thanks in advance,
Roland
What kind of battery drain are we looking at when using this?
This only works with 1.5 & possibly 1.6 ROMs. I haven't had any luck on DC v1.0, which is a 2.0/1 ROM.
The bluetooth stack for 2.1 Roms isn't fully complete from what I have figured. a2dp may work with an official release.
EDIT:
Looks like Bluez has supported A2DP since about October 09(v4.15), maybe it didn't make it into our builds.
