HP hw6915 spare parts - Sable

Hello,
Due to HP Romania lack of support for pda's in ... well... Romania, i need to know where can i buy a vibrate engine, a speaker and a loud-speaker for a HP Ipaq hw6915.
Thanks a lot.

My friend, today is your lucky day. And if that's not enough, there are always other options.
(I should note that these two sites have a good selection of parts for all Hewlett-Packard phones/PDAs, not just the 69xx-series.)

Qtek 2020 or I-mate - support in english? and warrenty?

I am looking to buy the XDA II but because I need it unlocked I have to look further afield. Both the i-mate and qtek 2020 are available unlocked but:
1) Qtek homepage is in Swedish/Danish - with no english at all - no idea how to get software updates etc and what warrenty I will get (worldwide etc) if the unit fails
2) i-mate - I can't even find a home page in any language to find out warrenty and service information.
3) If I buy one of the above can one use software updates from the XDA II support page?
What one has to go thru to get a XDA II - remember the camel cigarette adverts?
I-mate & warranty
I bought an I-mate (all english/manuals/box etc) from www.compume.com in dubui It comes with a worldwide warranty:
It says in the warranty booklet that:
"HTC will provide the customer with instructions regarding how and when the defective product should be returned to HTC and will pay all costs in connection with both the return of the defective product to HTC and the repaired produt back to the customer.
This is the difference between buying an Imate english version. Of couse if you flash your ROM from German or whatever to English you void any warranty. Be aware that some places are buying MDA2 German units and flashing them to an English Rom to sell to you.
My Imate works GREAT!
Thanks for the input
HTC - does the company have a web page - I know when I buy HP or Casio I know where to go for service. I cannot find anything about who stands behind I-mate. Any idea? Can you see from the manual if there is a web page reference?
I found it after I posted last thread - www.carrierdevices.com thanks for the input.
well sure it's diff to read the page if it's in swedish and danish but any software upgrades should work just fine for the english version because
pocketpc have never been translated into those languages so they just use english roms

it will be named,"QTEK9000"

norwegian distributor "dangaard" ...
http://www.windowsmobile.no/mod-htmlpages-display-pid-50.phtml
not "4040" - as forum index suggests
qtek's namings are ODD!!!!
blue angel is 9090
and Wizard 9100
Qtek
I think its pretty odd that qtek exists at all. As I understand it, both Qtek, and Imate are brands, not companies. The company behind both brands is called Carrier Devices. I have a mate who used to work for them.
Rather odd since both brands have devices based on the same HTC platforms!

hellooooooo everyone! finally the mods/admins got down to work and we've got this forum. Now we can continue discussing all the problems and sleepless nights this handset is causing us.
All thats needed now is a nice pic to be out on the main index page.
Where is the Sprint PPC 6800?
I talked to a Sprint rep on Monday and he stated that on Friday the PPC 6800 along with the released Treo 755P was on some list of upcoming handsets and that on Monday it was gone but the 755 came out as expected. Apparently they get some renewed list every Friday. I also asked if the 755 was going to come out in a windows version but he stated that a WX version was not listed.
I gave up and kept my Cingular account, also gave up my 8125 and got an 8525(GSM TyTN Hermes) instead.
It came Tuesday with very old software and a radio package that really sucked! The stereo headset is a modified USB not a 2.5 and the mic is absolutely in the wrong place . . . So much for my expensive Shure headset . . .
Anyway, the HTC/Cingular upgrade works great and the phone's use experience is a tremendous improvement from the 8125. Thumbwheel with OK and Menu buttons are a very big help. There appears to be some adapter cables for the mic and there are several rumors about a factory upgrade to Mobile 6 upgrade. There is already one expected on the Europe HTC site and now on XDA-developers.com.
So for additional upgrades besides the phone:
No case
Need 2.5 or 3.5 headset adapter for Mp3 or wired voice ($15 ish)
New micro SD (only goes to 2 mg) ($35 ish)
No built in GPS unlike Sprint
No cradle like in Sprint and Canada pic’s ($50 ish)

Atom or HP rw6828

Thinking of getting one of them, which one is a better device? Since both of there are basically the same device with different housing, is it possible for me to flash atom's ROM to rw6828 and vice versa just like those prophet like dopod 818pro, imate jamin and qdek s200?
One more question, do I really need 192mb ROM in atom exec or 128mb in atom is sufficient enough?
Get the HP my friend, the Atom and Atom Exec have faulty LCD screens. I know because I have had 3 Atoms and 2 Exec's replaced and the devices still squeal like a mosquito. O2 is horrible to deal with each time the device needs to be sent away you can expect it to be gone for at the very least a month and they do not give extended warranty for the time spent at the service centre.
Hi homer285, thanks for your reply, just curious, if there is LCD problem in atom/exec then HP should suffer the same since they are sharing the same device except for the housing and design. Anyway, I am testing the HP now, so far so good except for the wifi range and battery life...

Not necassarily true, I am yet to hear the HP has this problem and I think you'll find there's more than just housing and design difference.
Borrow one unit rw6828 back for testing, the wifi reception not very good, I have Apple Airport Express in my study room next to my bedroom, the signal only one bar where my 4 yrs old Toshiba notebook has 4 bars. Battery life also not very good, having the phone in standby mode for about 6 hours (played 2 songs, make and received 3-4 short phone calls), the battery drain from 100% to 49%. Does Atom did the same?
O2 Atom or HP 6828 (I've found something better!)
Hi All,
After having the O2 Atom for 3 weeks, I've decided to sell it off. I hate to say this, I have been a firm supporter of O2 from the days of XDAII to the days of O2 Mini, but I am sad to say O2 Atom is the worst of the lot I have ever used. I don't think it can get any worse (hmm maybe I am wrong and it can get worse?!). Maybe all the good phones are by HTC and this real bad one is by Quatar (or is it spelt that way? Who cares, I'm never gonna buy any phone from that manufacturer again).
This is what I have found bad about the Atom:
1) Bad design of hardware buttons (both O2 & HP)
- Why would any manufacturer design a hardware that doesn't take advantage of the new OS?? WM5 was design with ease of use in mind with the introduction of the left/right hardware keys (much like the nokia h/keys).
- Imagine you get the latest OS but you still have to touch the screen to access those quick menus, is this dumb or what?!
2) FM Radio is almost useless (reception & design)
- Poor reception (my pocket radio gets better reception, but then again this is a PDA phone so what the heck ..)
- Poor design because you need to have the wired headset attached to it when you want to hear the radio!
3) Cheap Plastic Cover
- Reminds me of the USD2 cheap nokia cover made in china (both the HP & Atom) squeaks, both the top and bottom does not allign properly
- I personally feel that both the XDAII & Mini built is much better (feels more solid)
- For the price you are paying for the Atom Exec, we should be getting the state of the art carbon fibers casing.
After I have sold it off, I have moved on to the Dopod 838pro. Any regrets? Other than the steep price (hey it's only USD100 more that then Atom Exec..) & microSD, it's a dream phone!!
Specs:
- GSM 850/900/1800/1900, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS(3G), HSDPA(3.5G)
- 13 hardware keys (1 dedicated video call key)
- a side slide out keyboard (w smart backlight) & Real Wheel (not jog dail)
- 2M pixel camera
- 802.11g Wi-Fi (802.11b compatible)
- 128mb flash 64mb RAM
... I can't ask for more. So .. for those planning to get an Atom Exec ... I would strongly recommend you check out the 838 Pro or in some place it's called the TyTN, HTC hermes, O2 Trion, Qtek 9600, iMate JasJam etc ..
HP 6828 Battery issue can be solved
Well you can certainly address the battery issue on the 6828 with success. Find help thru the link here

from nokia e63 to prophet

so i can get new (original sealed package) qtek s200 for around 80€.
now i have nokia e63 and i love qwerty keyboard. I have some experiance with PDA i used to own hp hx4700 so i know what is wm5 and wm6 like and i know what to expect prom this OS.
