For example, I want to check my IMAP e-mail account automatically every hour, but only in the 10-23 time interval. The reason, besides data traffic reduction, is that the notification sound wakes me up when I sleep.
Is there a program that can do that, while still being integrated with the windows mobile mail client (so that I receive warnings in SPB panel, Xperia panel, today screen etc.)?
Thanks!
rk-OSR (from xda somewhere) lets you set specific times. It's got a badly designed UI, but works fine when set up properly.
PhoneWeaver (commercial) lets you set up timed profiles to turn of the sound and phone between 00:00 and 09:00 and so on. It's got a bunch of options to make it fit your needs.
G-profile from Ageye lets you setup time based profiles that can let you turn off the sound form new emails... Means you can still recieve them and but will not be waked by them!
G- profile has a lot more benefits as well, downside is I experice some battery drainage but not to bad.

Thanks! PhoneWeaver does the job, I will also try G-profile.
With the profile programs I just managed to "mute" the e-mail alarm sound, but it will be nicer to have a small program that changes the e-mail checking interval to None during specific hours.
Have you tried rk-OSR ?

I have a dilemma that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.
I use my Wizard as my daily alarm clock, but don't want to be prematurely awakened by calls or emails. Right now, my only option is to turn on flight mode, but I need to see if I missed any calls while I was asleep. So I need to keep system sounds on, but turn off notification of messages and calls.
Anybody know of a way to set this up or know of some software that would help?
I was wondering the same thing myself, and I found nothing of help. Looks like the Wizards are really not good as alarm clocks - for the reason you are talking about, but also because alarms are so unreliable.
I cant soeak to the reliability of teh alarms, but you could get something like PocketZenPhone. That way you could have a profile with the ringer shut off but whatever notifications you want notifications left on. You could also set it to switch to this profile at a set time so you won't have to remember to do it.
I just downlaoded teh 30 day trial and it see,s to be working well with a small footprint.
turn off phone
I worked round this by turning off the phone in comm manager but leaving the sound enabled - you get the alarm as required but you're not disturbed by incoming txt/email/calls.

It is not free but I use a really cool utility from Pocketmax that lets you set all kinds of profiles so that you can have the phoen ring but no e-mail sounds or whatever you want. You can also set it to change when you plug it in, or on a schedule. Pretty neat.
PPCProfilesPro
One that is free, and does as above-mentioned programs, is MoDaCo's PPCProfilesPro.

Requires registration to the website to download, but well worth it. I found it yesterday while searching for exactly the same thing.
isn't there a silent wav file that you can use as the tones for messages and calls when you sleep?
I am using the 'auto fetch' feature in Pocket Outlook to poll for new emails every 15 minutes. Is there someway of disabling this feature at night so it does not wake me up when a new email arrives?
Looking to change alert times
I'm using ActiveSync but instead of changing the sync schedule I would prefer to create an alert schedule.
It would allow me to sync always but only beep during working hours
Any ideas?
I'd have thought SKSchema would be able to sort this out for you. All you have to do is find the relevant registry key and make a script scheduled to change it at the relevant times.
Thanks to Chalky for pointing out SKSchema on this forum.
Hello there!
I need the ability to change profiles between my free time and my work time. I tried phonealarm and while I liked it, it didn't seem to want to talk to the notifications for Windows Mobile properly.
When I had it set for my 'home' profile, I had my email notification set up to play a sound AND vibrate. However, if I was just checking the windows notification settings, it would totally eliminate my selections.
Does anyone recommend a good profile software? I need something that's going to be able to switch from a regular home profile to a custom, silent yet vibrating profile for work....
You can try DontForget. There is just Smartphone version, which you can try but the real PocketPC version will be availbale soon.

PhoneWeaver is great
Check out -> http://www.sbsh.net/products/phoneweaver/
what i do is i set up meetings in pOutlook when i have class and put them on reoccurring events and then have the phone notification settings turned to automatic, so the phone automatically goes to vibrate when there is a "meeting"
Hello, i dont get any notifications when my phone is on standby mode.
this includes:
Email
SMS
Alarms (windows alarms)
notifications for calendar events.
how does i fix?
okay, so try going to: settings - all settings - personal - sounds and notifications. There thick what you want. With the SMS notification while on stand-by, there is a bug which HTC solved (releasing a hotfix - found on htc.com). Tell me if you have any more problems and if you have solved these problems
No calemdar notofocation when the pin is set-up
Hi,
I have a similar problem. When the phone is on standby and locked (eg. after 15 min) I can not get any calendar notification working.
They all show up when I wake up the phone and enter my code.
The only workaround is to disable the lock, but I need it to be set-up (company policy)
Note that other notifications are ok:
- Call
- SMS (after installing the patch from HTC)
- Alarm
Thanks

Any progress on this?, I have installed the official htc hotfix for sms, makes no difference for me.
While the sms not notifying is a frustration, I could probably live with it but...
Alarms are the real problem for me... I can't rely on the device as an alarm clock as the alarm simply doesn't sound until I bring it out of standby with the power button.
Any cure for this, is it hardware or software? do cooked roms exhibit same behaviour?
P.
I have the same problem. I have downloaded the fix from HTC, but still my email does not play a sound (the LED flashes though).
I have not checked other things (SMS, alarms etc.)
It would seem VERY silly if the alarm doesn't sound!!!!
For e-mail, you have to go and turn on the notification for that in the sounds and notifications settings,
Settings-->All Settings-->Personal-->Sounds and Notifications-->Notifications-->Event:Messaging: New e-mail message
And select it to play a sound of your choosing.
it is not switched on by default, in this case that is good for me, if I got a notification alarm every time I got a new e-mail, my phone would be sounding alarms pretty much all the time....
The alarm problem not waking from standby, I have posted in another thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544112 a possible cure, working for me for 2 days at least...

Unfortunately two key PIM features though available in Windows Mobile have been hidden by the Sense UI
1. Snooze by N minutes
2. Attendees meeting acceptance tracking
1. Snooze by N minutes
When you get a reminder on the HD2 for a pending meeting you only get the option to "dismiss" or "snooze" In Windows Mobile (for as far back as I can recall) you always had the option to snooze by number of minutes you got to choose from a drop down menu i.e. 5 minutes before, 15 minutes before, 1 hour etc). This was a very useful function as you got a reminder closer to the time rather than get a reminder every 5 minutes as with the HD2. This can get really annoying if someone has booked a meeting with you with a reminder over 15 minutes ahead or you have many meetings. You end up spending loads of time just hitting snooze.
2. Attendees meeting acceptance tracking
When you book a meeting with several people windows mobile shows the invitees of that meeting and their acceptance reply i.e. declined, accepted, no response. Again the SENSE UI has hidden this so you just get a list on invitees.
It is very useful to me as you need to know if the meeting is worth running based on reponse to the meeting invite.
Anyone got any suggestions/tweaks etc?
1) BsB Tweaks has a setting to re-enable the time options in the notifications.
2) Make a shortcut to Windows\Calendar.exe, and you get the standard WM calendar view
