Hello,
I should wantto have an TV scheduler on a new tab of Manila. It's possible ?
A "NOTES TAB" would be much better. A developer could make it
I would say an app with the tv program.
I want a tab which gives me cheeseburgers...
why ? it's not particulary hard to develop, is it ?
i'm java developper but i don't know develloping for diamond.
if someone can help me ?
nobody interresting by my idea ?
a tab to host any today plug-in will be the most flexible.
I would say an program with the programs tv of the day and their timetable.
like iGuideTV for iphone
Sky+
Would be good if it linked in to Sky + aswell, however I am not sure how this would be done.
Perhaps using the iPhone feed?
TF3d isn't java, it's Lua (at least that's what i've heard)

Does it need to be a tab, I'd be happy for an App
Yes I know.
firstly, it's possible to add a tab to Manila isn't it ?
secondly, I don't know Lua. I download FBA Creator but it's very strange for me. Somebody know a good tutorial ?
thks
Noboby to help me ?
Dude!
It's apparently really hard as the only custom tab ever made is the calender tab, with VERY limited functionality. There are some other tabs floating around but these were either already in the phone or use stuff from other menu's in manila. As far as I know, d-man is the only one who can program his own tabs, very limited ones btw. I've been told that manila runs on a virtual machine and isn't as simple as java and stuff. So I seriously doubt that your tv thing will be made or even a simple notes tab, but I'd gladly be proven wrong

Hey guys, gotta question/idea here I want you genious devs to ponder on if you don't mind. Since a ton of people on here use the HTC Home plug on there phones, and with all of the new apps that you guys have given us, such as A_C's S2 programs, and TCPMP, and all of the new contact apps like iContact and things, is it possible to create new tabs for the HTC home plug to go with these?
I know that probably the first response I'm going to get is to try some other program to get the ability to launch these from my home screen, but I like the over all feel of the HTC Home plug. It's so much simpler than using multiple apps to achieve the look , and the weather app and home section are awesome.
I just think it would be pretty cool/convenient if it were possible to make the music tab bring up S2P, and the contact tab launch iContact or something, and to be able to change the profile tab to S2V or any combination of programs. Pretty much the ability to add a tab, name it yourself , and choose the program it launches. Just like the app launcher with the plug, just for the tabs.
It seems like it would be simple for one of the geni's on here (I'd have no chance at it). HHCcustomizer gives the ability to add and remove tabs, so all thats missing is the ability to change the program it launches pretty much.
I have no clue if its possible, or how hard it would be. I've just seen a ton of other programs give the ability to choose the program launched and thought it may be possible here. I know some REG Editing may do it, but myself, with probably many others would be lost here. But this was just an idea. Would anyone else be interested in this?
Hi there!
Is there any application that makes a tab on TF3D that displays your minute/text/data usage? If not, does someone want to make one? I'll name my first born child after you!
Thanks!
I don't think their is a tab, but if you want to track data usage SPB Wireless Monitor is REALLY good. you can set reminders and it has a very detailed breakdown
I have it, and just put the icon in my Programs Tab - works like a charm
But pre-build into Manila3D would be better than a stand-alone app!

But it's not pre-built into Manila - We didn't design and code Manila and therefore the likelihood is we will never see 'custom tabs'.
I'm loving all the new today screen options we have these days, but sometimes I feel like we're missing the basics- on my old today screen (before Manilla came out) I always had my basic active tasks, calendar, and RSS feed available, which I considered invaluable.
When Manilla came out, I had hopes of an RSS and/or tasks tab, but sadly it appears HTC overlooked it and did not really encourage much development for TouchFlo3D.
I have new hopes with Titanium, especially because I see favorite people and weather plugins being developed and released here! Technically, the weather plugins are very similar to an RSS feed, that should be very possible. And the tasks- well, if someone is able to access the contacts data, I'm sure this too is possible!
Is there anyone who may be able to help?
Yes an RSS reader would be beneficial actually.
I would like to see a tasks panel myself! It would come of great use to me. Thanks for voicing your opinion out, as i didnt know how to word/encourage other developers to maybe try to create one
Check the excalibur forum, I think I remember someone making a tasks panel already and a stocks panel. It will take some searching probably since it was a while back. May need a little updating to work just right with 6.5
Excalibur? The smartphone edition device?
I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing- I'm talking about the new 6.5 Titanium home screen from MS, not the classic today screen plugins (that are sadly becoming extinct due to all the flashy today themes that are all the rage).
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how a plugin for a smartphone device not running 6.5 has anything to do with it... there ARE classic plugins that do exactly what I'm talking about, but Titanium is a whole new breed and requires some new plugins to be coded.
Anyone want to help get this process started?
We definitely need a tasks WM6.5 panel. If you look at the Calendar panel, it scrolls through your appointments. This is exactly the way a tasks panel should work! Cmon someone please make one!!!

titanium has been out for a long time in smartphones (6.5 just brought it to the touch screen variants of winmo)
What he is saying is that it was made for smarphones, so all the code should be there, it may just need a couple adjustments.
+1 to this.
I would love a tasks plugin and RSS would be nice too.

Ah, yes, the whole NEO interface thing introduced on the Shadow, right?
I was under the impression that the new Titanium on professional edition devices was a new breed- I was not aware that anyone had ported plugins from one to the next.
I've started working on a Titanium Tasks application, but I haven't pushed forward because I know the updated 6.5 SDK should be available on launch day (May 11th.)
I'd be happy to go back at it if there really is interest (and it seems there is), or collaborate with others to work on it. My strengths are primarily C# on the .NET Framework.

check this out.

I agree, an RSS plugin would be really beneficial.
For example, I'm going to Cornwall soon for surfing and have found a RSS feed containing surf reports for all the local hot spots with conditions and reports.
A simple RSS feed would allow me to see these details right from the today screen.
Surely, writing such a plugin would not be so hard?
Well, is please actualy a some RSS plugin for Titanium?
For tasks try taskanium

For RSS feeds i saw some developments going on, for example

I ll try it, thanks.
Im using it right now, but it still not proper RSS reader, because here you can have only 1 channel in one moment.
Hi,
I am quite new to the Iolite (as i had till the day before yesterday still a Prophet) and have to say that i am quite happy with it except that the new today screen (TouchFlo, Manila? TF2D?) is disappointing compared to HTC Home...
After doing some research on the net i found someone who added (at least) a calender tab to the Home Screen and now i would like to ask if there are people here who know if it is possible to add any custom tabs of which the content is programmable (quite like plugins for the old HTC Home. Say i made a C# app that is being run in the Tab and shows certain information or something similar).
From what i read this seems not doable although i am simply unsure about it as there is some custom(?) calender tab out there...
In the end this is the only thing i so far miss on the Iolite since HTC Home just gives me shell errors and there are things i really would like to have with only few keystrokes to see...
I don't know about custom tabs on manila(but it lacks on customization), but I can suggest you a freeware alternative to touchflo UI that can satisfy your needs and it's highly customizabe, especially if you know how to program, cause you can create plugins(if the available are not satisfy you) that meet your needs. If you're interesting take a look here:

Thanks! That thing looks exactly like what i was searching for!
Hello Everyone,
I'm a graphic designer.. and I (for some reason ) am so sure this is possible on an Android phone... but the question is.. is it worth their time? i hope my $20 dollars and other possible donators... can help answer that question!!
Here's The Concept: (sorry for the long essay)
I would like to use my android's touch screen to be my little helper when i'm on my graphic programs... either photoshop/illustrator.. even my html programs.. i would like a dedicated screen with Tools and Options that i usually use...
This could be done in many ways.... one would require a "server" application and displays the shortcuts according to the App in focus...
or...
You can make android as the HID thing (Sorry!! Thats as technical as i can get..)....so it sends "macros" to photoshop ... but this doesn't really require a server cuz HID thing shud be multi platform?? if i'm not mistaken...so instead of detecting.. there would be applications we choose which will show the appropriate buttons....
Here's one example: Photoshop
While one Photoshop, I would like Cuboid Buttons for Basic Tools(Marquee, Paint Brush, Eraser, Move tool..... ) on an array of screens and with fixed items like the "Undo" or "Layers" "Characters"... which will bring up the proper dialogue...
I'm willing to donate 20$ to the person who can do this ... i hope others can feel my frustration and want to help too... so we can get this going...
Plus.. there is a "Clingo" accessory for phones that can attach any device to any monitor!!! from the looks of it... it could very well work with my idea!!
Thank you for taking your time reading my big essay!!! (sorry)
I may not be a developer for android, but I know that if anyone does it, it'll cost them more than $20 of their time...
I think you should learn the key shortcuts or buy a keyboard with extended keys that you can program.
@DKuntz2 i know it will be more than 20 dollars... thats why i started my donation at 20 ... whoever is feeling like donating to this cause... can hopefully make it worth for the developer....
@jobarjo Yeah, I already know the keyboard shortcuts ... but theres alotta features on the photoshop that are not possible through a simple keyboard shortcut... and besides.. i only used Photoshop as an example, this can be implemented with Word Processors... Web Browsers.... Full screen Media player with controls on the side... I don't know theres alotta potential...
i just hope people find this 'donation' worthy as i do.... a guy can hope right?
It sounds like what you really need is the Optimus Maximus keyboard; http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/
Thanx.
but I am already familiar with the optimus..and that it can change the whole keyboard to pictures...anyways i just thought the guys would want this on their android phone.. rather than wasting $2400 US on that.!!!
I hope ill be able to make this on Google's App Inventor...
Peace.

You can't.
You need a "server" application on the computer which you can make or interact with a GAI app.
You also may need to interact with Photoshop in a way because its not just sending keyboard shortcuts because some tools don't have that.
I am unsure if you need to make a photoshop plugin for that or you can call some functions in the photoshop.exe.(I don't even know how my 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator calls the functions and such in Photoshop)
Google apps doesn't allow this functionality and I am unsure if it ever will(and even if it will it won't be soon)
well that sucks doesn't it...
thanks for that.. i hope i'll be able to make something out of google inventor ... i have soo much ideas... but they're all either novelty or something very specific to me...
This would be really useful, but hard, the way I see it you could do it using HID:
An android App that communicates as a slave device to a desktop machine.
Could use bluetooth and pretend to be HID but you'd have to write the HID layer from scratch in java as Android only does HID as the master (and even then only in CM6)
This would send keypress events which may be enough for some apps, but generally you'd need to map those events to some other combination of actions, under windows a combination of http://www.autohotkey.net/ and http://www.autohotkey.net/~Micha/HIDsupport/Autohotkey.html may do the job.
Implementing HID under Android would be the had part (for me). The rest would need to be configured per-feature-per-app
I do know there are several keyboard applications availble so keyboard shortcuts and keypresses aren't really the problem.
I am just unsure how you would link into photoshop tools without key combos.
You can get for iphone, good idea saves a lot of time
If someone is skilled enough to edit this to something with a Tools gui or allowing to asign a picture and hotkey to a button on the screen and pass on the hotkey to the server..
http://code.google.com/p/remotedroid/
And maybe remove the mouse functionality or put it in a tab.
I think ... we can make an "Action" file.. for most of the commands... and then send the respective keystroke .... that could work also..... and like u said have tabs
but i wudn't need mouse in there...
