Message Ton - Touch 3G General

Can anyone advise if Jade is able to use non built in message ton?
What I meant is use other wav file as message ton.
Look forward to any enlightenment.

Polyphonic SMS Alerts

Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone knows how and where to install polyphonic ringtones for text messages on the TyTN. Spoke to a really helpful guy at TyTN HQ who tried to help but to no joy.
At the moment, text message alert is using midi sounds but I would like to use my own MP£ or polyphonic sounds as an alert instead as I don't like the ones provided...can anyone out there help me at all please?
Many thanks,
Stevie.
Hi,
without a special prgramm you can only use wav format as polyphonic format. copy the wav files into the windows folder. thats it.
Good man Rob and thank you so much for the reply. Managed to find a sound conversion program and it seems to have done the job.
Which program were you talking about which would do the job for me just fine?
Many thanks once again,
Stevie.

mp3 for alarm

hi
is there any way to add an mp3 for alarm?
thanks
You have to convert them to .wav and put in the windows folder.
use Pocket Alarm
Also alarmToday or SPBTime

.wma will also work nicely, and files are a lot smaller than .wav.

Sometimes it helps if you use the manual!

Ok ok, put in /windows/Rings folder on your device.
it seems that you can only use .wav file format, is there any workaround to use .mp3, .mp4 or .wma files? wav audio format is so big it will be a complete waste of memory, btw. for alarms sound you must copy wav to \windows folder
Did you know that actual size of predefined .wav files in windows folder is almost 2MB and you can't delete it?

you can use mp3 and mp3 has smaller Filesize than wav. just use a good converter and use low bitrate. you can also cut mp3 files as you might do not want the whole 5th symphony for a ringing tone.
yeah- i got the ring tone to be changed to my favourite Hatebreed song but for the life of me cannot get it to change the alarm ring tone to something other than those included with the phone..... i used to have an edited mp3 as alarm tone for my sony-ericcson..... i am assuming this phone is better and can do that.......
any ideas to change the alarm tone?
thanks
Scott

Yes for ringtone but NOT for alarms and sms, if someone know how to do it please xplain ...
G'Day Guys,
You need to use .WAV files bummer I know as they are generally larger but it is the only way to use them.
Convert your MP3 files to .wav with a program such as Ease Audio Converter:
http://www.soft32.com/download_15987.html
Once converted, connect your phone to the USB Sync Cable and let is sync.
Once synced go to >my computer>mobile device>my windows mobile-based device>windows and place your .wav file in the windows folder.
It should convert the file for mobile windows format.
Then in your phone go >start>settings>sounds&notifications>notifications>events and select event, then associated sound.
or for alarm
>start>settings>system>clock & alarms>bell symbol and select sound.
I found that the sound file for the alarm cant be too long, at 17 sec it wouldnt work at 10sec it would................ Again I used "ease Audio converter" to clip the length of the wav file.
Hope this helps, spent many hours delving around on the net finding the answers.

BIQ

This is nothing to do with the Trinity as such- it is, and has been, universal with all Pocket PC/ Windows Mobile devices.
As the previous posters have said:
Ringtones can be WAV, MID, WMA or MP3 and need to be in the Windows/Rings folder. Later devices have other permissible locations, but Rings is univerfsal.
Other notifications must be WAV files, and preferably need to be 25KB or less. These need to be in the Windows folder, and are selected via the Settings/Sounds and Notifications control panel.
You can use MP3's as alarm, SMS and messaging tones, but you need add-on programs- SpB Time /Chronos etc for alarms, Ringo Mobile for SMS & Contacts etc.

Custom SMS ringtones

Hello,
Where are the ringtones located on HD2?
I found some in Windows/rings and try to add custom ringtones (wma) to it but there are not showing in HTC ringtones setup menu.
Any idea?
Think you need to use .wave format and just copy the tone to the /Windows: Library. That will work.
You can use your personal music files to be your rington.
1. First copy the files to the /My Documents/My Ringtones folder on the phone.
2. Then from the Home screen slide to the Settings tabs > Sound & display > Ringtone
3. Select the file you copied over, and then tap Done.
Alternatively, you can set any music file as your ringtone by navigating to your music using File Explorer and tapping and holding the music file and selecting Set As Ringtone.
You can use a number of sound files that you downloaded from the Internet or copied from your computer, including *.wav, *.mid, *.mp3, and *.wma.

Convert your tone to .wave format and put it in the Windows library. It will work. I have done it plenty of times
** Try to use .wma format to, think it will work fine.

It's funny how even the simplest phones nowadays don't have any problems at all using mp3-files as sound-notifications, but a beast like HD2 can't support this

yes but we're livin' a WM world
(plus they have their own audio format, others don't. it's why they go to mp3 I guess)

I used both ways and they both work fine for me. I dont use the WAV file anymore because the MP3 way is just easier for me as i use the MP3 trimmer to make my ringtones
If you go into the application data folder on the device, there's a folder named "sounds" put the mp3 sms in there and you'll be able to select them for sms notifications.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
it Worked

[RELEASED]Android RingTones for WinMo

Hi everyone, I converted some ringtones that were for Android into .mp3 format. So, for everyone such as myself that like some of the ringtone that come on Android such as the BirdLoop....here's my small contribution. All you need to do is unzip put file on your storage card. Or, make a folder on your storage card called My Documents and drop the file in that folder. If you like the tones, please leave a comment.
Thanks for the ring tones...I was thinking of converting them as they were in some ogg format if I remember correctly as I liked few of them, like birdloop alarming and jaunt. Any prog. to convert remainings... Thanks again.

Sure, you can use vlc media player to convert the remaining files from .ogg format to .mp3. Make sure when you convert the file, to add .mp3 to end of the name. This is done after you pick a destination file.
Thanks for the sounds
I was excited how they would sound but... they are just music. And made with really crappy softsynths. I was hoping for professional ringtones that compensate the shortage of tiny speakers, are somehow psychoacoustic or at least would be RINGTONES but not another cheap music...
Mr. Android! Following the toyphone oops... i ment iPhone style??
