I'm trying to set HTCAlbum as standard video file viewer (at least for mp4 files) in order to get its acceleration features and view files from any location.
I changed HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mp4file\Shell\Open\Command
to
\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe -mode:gizmo "%1"
But the parameter "-mode:gizmo" is not passed to HTCAlbum...
Anyone has an idea on how to pass a parameter via registry file association? The parameter is correct, tried with a link like this:
"\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe -mode:gizmo [fullpathtomp4file]" and it worked...
Thanks!
try \Windows\HTCAlbum.exe "%1"
ravest, thaks for the reply!
Unfortunately I need to pass the "-mode:gizmo" parameter otherwise HTCAlbum only starts in thumbnail mode... and I cannot open files outside its default dir...
Also this parameter starts immediately the video playback in fullscreen....

hello,
i've installed TCPMP v.0.66 on my Himalaya (XDA II). prior to the installation, tapping directly on a video file (e.g. mp4) causes it to be opened with the default player - "album". however, after the installation.. tapping on a file causes my unit to soft reset. as well, opening the "album" program thru the programs folder causes the same soft reset. there seems to be no problem with running TCPMP and playing video files with it.
i'm guessing the reset is caused by some conflict between the two software and i believe (and hope) there's some other solution other than uninstalling the TCPMP.
please help.. thanks in advance.
install an mp4 codec man..... or an mp4 player.... TCMP only plays mp4 codecs like avi, mpeg and mp3
thanks for the reply man.. my particular concern is my "album" program not being able to coexist with TCPMP. do you mean that installing an mp4 codec would solve this "conflict" between the 2 programs?
thanks again
the file must be compatible with the software
the files i'm trying to open are compatible with both "album" and "TCPMP".. it's just that once TCPMP is installed, "album" crashes at start up..
TCPMP non-conflict
I'm assuming that you're tapping on the media file you wish to view from either File Explorer or another similar file manager, which, of course, will open it in Album or Media Player (which is the default application assigned to open such files). Try opening TCPMP v0.66 FIRST. Tap on File, Open, then your desired media file. Then, you will get your desired result.
I try it on the Streaming Video program that came with Black 3.01, and TCMP and couldn't get them to load. Anyone knows a way?
Thanks!
I have had success playing PLS files with mortplayer
I just finish trying with mortplayer and it wouldn't load the file.
If the PLS file is malformed, then no player will play it properly.
Open it in Notepad on your PC (open Notepad, and copy 'n paste the URL into the File box where you can type in a filename, and it'll download and open the file)... You might be able to tell just by looking at it if the .pls is malformed.
Try adding it as a response to this thread and I'll take a look at it, if you want (add it inside the [ code ] boxes in a similar way you'd do it for a quote) and it should keep the text as is without converting anything to hyperlinks.
Have you tried disassociating the .pls format with TCPMP and then re-associating it? That might work if it's a registry hitch.
Im able to stream shoutcast and .pls using conduit pocketplayer and pocketmusic
On my local network i use vm netbrowser and coreplayer 1.04 and play my music and videos off my server. I do the same at my office.
I use GSPlayer and select in the options to associate .pls files.
Ron
I have try MortPlayer, GSPlayer, TCMP, Core Codec Player and Conduit pocketplayer and non have worked.
zzfdkzz kindly sent me the contents of the .pls file in a private message, and I know why it's not streaming:
Code:
[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=1
File1=http://mastadog.kicks-ass.net:4000/;stream.nsv
Unfortunately, it's an NSV stream which uses VP6. Unfortunately, I don't think any pocket player will decode and stream these kinds of streams (not even TCPMP), though saying that I've not tried myself. The .pls file is correctly-formatted though, but no player can understand its contents so it won't play.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news :/ maybe somebody else knows of an app which can play VP6 NSV streams.
Thanks christopherwoods for the help!
When I try to view a picture in File Explorer a message appears with a RED CROSS and the following 'There is no application associated with "whatever the pictures name is..". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application. The windows icon is also faded out. This problem is with pictures on my storage card and device. Pictures are viewable if I go through the media panel but you can't do jack with the pictures there, like bluetoothing, etc, just view them.
Any ideas.
You have the file associations in registry\HKCR\, i.e. the jpg images has it's associations in registry\HKCR\jpegimage\, pointed to by the registry\HKCR\.jpg key.
I guess some installed and uninstalled program has broken the link.
You can use Total Commander CE to view and alter the file associations in the properties for that file.
Set the association command to :MSPIMG and the param to "%1" to use the default image viewer.
Tops. Thanks for your help.
Hi all i'm developing an app for audio recording.
So i used the MediaRecorder class to record. Unfortunately this class hasn't got the pause method so i can just start or stop.
How can i pause the recorder?
For example i'd like to do something like this:
press rec button to start recording
press pause button
press rec button to continue recording...
press stop to save and exit.
ps: I'd like to save the output file as amr or 3gp.
Any idea?

it doesnt appear to be possible with the api's provided by the MediaRecorder class. the way you would have to do it with a MediaRecorder is to record multiple files and then merge them into one audio file. i was thinking that you could append to the file using a file descriptor but then i realized that its not just a plain text file. its an audio file with headers and a complex compressed format and just appending another audio file on the end would do nothing. here are some links

this is a tough one.

this one isnt... =)
setOutputFormat(int outPutFormat);
where outPutFormat can be these values:
---------------------------------------------
int AMR_NB AMR NB file format
int AMR_WB AMR WB file format
int DEFAULT
int MPEG_4 MPEG4 media file format
int RAW_AMR AMR NB file format
int THREE_GPP 3GPP media file format
How do you change/edit file association with certain program?
Usually if you have more than 1 program that can handle certain type of files, you get the selection to choose which program to use to open that file.
If you also select the check box below it, it will not ask you anymore next time you open the same type of file.
But, how do you edit/change that selection in the future?
I associated AVI files with QQPlayer and it actually makes it default for all my other video files and I found it not very smooth. Some other players play other format much better, and I want to change it back.
Just have not found a good player for AVI files yet. Really surprised provided this format (AVI) is used by Canon cameras.

as far as i know, you have to clear defaults for the program. It can be done under settings applications manage applications, click on the app and click clear defaults
