HTC Camera

Has anyone got a link to a cab of the latest HTC camera app (VGA)?
For some reason the one in the ROM i'm using just freezes when you try to take a picture, and doesn't save it.

Have you tried changing the internal settings at all inside the camera app?
It could be you have a camera pkg from a device with a higher MP count than the hardware inside your device..
That's the common problem from what you've described. So try at a lower resolution.

Found a .cab by searching on here, was 6.20 I think. Works fine now

[SOLVED]Topaz WM6.5.5 camera problem

I cooked my rom using the latest Da G WM6.5.5 SYS
All works fine, except the htc camera.
Wen I open my camera, all is fine, but if I take a picture or if I take a landscape picture, wen the camera rotates the screen is all black, sometimes all I can see is a little square in the middle of the screen.
Does anybody knows of a fix?
btw: im using the latest S2 drivers and packages

i have the same issue with the HTC mega camera but i nevertake it so much importance due to the dependacies in htc mega pkgs... this is interesting

what sensor sdk are you using....the one from S2 that matches camera?

Yes iam using the sensor sdk from the s2 rom that matches the camera, in fact im using all the ext packages from the s2 rom.
In WM6,5 (com3 I think) it works fine, just in wm6.5.5 that this happens.

i guess its possible that it could be the sensor sdk you are using not being compatible with wm 6.5.5, you should at least try the one from rhodium 2.07 and see if it works...i dont have this problem with rhodium S2. also you could try another camera from topaz that you know has worked for you in the past..maybe an older one and see if it will work with your current configuration to help narrow down the problem.

Maybe you can try Topaz camera instead of Rhodium.
If I'm not mistaking the camera is depended on streamingsdk, mhub and dshow as well.

I finally got the camera to work proper
I had some auto gyrator reg edits messing with it

tonight I will try to install the cab on my ROM and will let you know if it works
The difference between 6.28 and 6.15 is to autofocus.
In 6.28 comes into operation when you do the photo, while the 6.15 is "continuous" so the shot is faster and pictures less moves
this is my experience

yeah ive found the same, with the later camera it takes ages to focus, you end up trying to stay still for what seems like forever!
Did the cab work ok? If so i'll install it too.

Is there any way to change the camera orientation using the regedit? I have updated my Touch HD camera from 6.6 to 6.15. The photo in portrait mode is landscaped.

You right man, I tried 6.15 instead of 6.28 and it's faster, AF looks really better.

Camera issue on af
Hi users of Touch HD, I've recently acquired a Touch HD and was very pleased with it. However, I got an issue with the camera.
To those parents out there who like to take candid photos of our children would understand what I meant. I try to take photo of my 2 year old daughter who is always playing around. When I press the only button, it will take a while to focus then "snap". By the time it "snap", it's not the picture that I wanted. Anyone has this issue or any ways to counter this problem? I know dedicated camera would not have this issue as the button would have 2 actions " focus" then "snap". Hope to hear from the pros here.

i have a stock ROM with 6.6 camera, i am now going to try the 6.15 in this topic, but i would also like to try the 6.28, can someone by any chance post a cab with the 6.28 camera?
i have another question, with the 6.6 camera the autofocus only works after i press the shot button, and in other rom i had the camera made the autofocus before pressing the shot button. how does the 6.15 work, and the 6.28?

When I used wm6.1, I was able to zoom on a picture by making a circle on the screen.
Now I have the wm6.5 energyrom and I would want to be able to zoom again but I have no idea what version it used to be and where to get it.

Can someone help me with a problem?
I am bussy with a rom for the htc raphael.
The problem i got with the rom is the htc sense 2.5 camera tab.
When i press on the camera button on the right corner of the tab nothing starts or it will hang iff i push the camera button in the startmenu i got something about a certificate not signed or missing an application or some times it's just hanging.
I have tried out differend version of the camera files and other files what the camera uses.
I got differend result one time it works or it just hangs or i get the message certificate not signed or application missing.
I ask which programs in the ext. map do you guys use for the camera button and the htc sense camera tab?
And where can I download it or could you upload it so i can try it out in my rom and look if this will work?

You probably need the updated sdkcerts if you are using the camera hacked to support both sensor 3.3 and 4.x. I have attached a EXT package I took from Gen.Y kitchen. I ran into the same problem previously and just using the new sdkcerts fixed it.

I can say it works.
Only when i start the camera and push on the screen there's nothing happing no settings nothing it even makes no photos.
But so far the camera starts and also the album.
I only need know a good working camera file and album

JUST got WP7 on my HD2, activated etc, but noticed that the autofocus doesnt work on the camera... is this a known issue, is it a setting etc?

Man, this is a very well known issue. The WP7 needs a 2 stage camera button, and HD2 camera button only has one stage. It's not a setting issue. You can another app to the camera: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942605

use the sh camera app ........or another way is to press video mode,let it focus and then toggle to camera mode and snap photo
