Hey guys,
Does anyone have experience with this head unit?
I am getting this head unit in the mail and i wanted to know if it works as advertised with the mogul. I want to use it as a BT speakerphone and stream sirius.
Are there any tricks or tips for use with this head unit?
I am REALLY excited about it but I want to be prepared for it in case there are things I need to know.
Thanks guys!
Pioneer Premier DEH-980BT
I have the DEH-980BT (first model with bluetooth). Make sure you pair the pioneer head unit with your phone and after pairing register the phone in the pioneer unit (read the pioneer instructions) if you still have problems change the following registries in your phone
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
Change to 5898764
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGPBModule
Change OEM to \Windows\BthAGPhonebook.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGExtModule
Change OEMAGW.DLL to \Windows\vcbthag.dll
You might still have problems setting both hands free and wireless stereo at the same time. I only have only hands free set on my phone and its works great.
I have the DEH-7900BT and it works flawlessly. I have to initiate the pair from the phone in order to get things setup, but once I have paired them the phone auto connects every time I get in the car and both the handsfree and stereo audio work as advertised. AVRCP even works correctly.
speaking of pioneer HU
has anyone tried the OEL screensaver studio appz ?
is there a site of people's creation available on the net ?
i can't find anything about it.
BTW, i have the 980BT unit and its top notch !
wait, so this radio has bluetooth streaming music right??, because i bought the Pioneer DEH 6250 BT and it doesn't have that function so i sold this 6250 to my friend and i was looking for this one 7900 because i thought it would bluetooth streaming music audio
why would one not use a cheap FM transmitter to do the audio to stereo? They charge the phone, use less power, and are like 4$ on amazon?
FM Transmitters SUCK!
1. Audio quality is crap compared to BT2
2. No A2DP support with a FM transmitter (on screen track info on your stereo, track fwd/back control, etc)
3. Noisy interference with other cars, towers etc.
Hello All,
Galaxy S4 user x1 month and I absolutely love it!
I'm installing an aftermarket stereo head unit in my car, with bluetooth (Kenwood KDC-X896). I chose this head unit for the reviews and sirius-xm and a few other options available on it. http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/2012_Car_Entertainment/KDC-X896
Along with the install of the head unit, I am installing a Rocketfish Bluetooth Receiver with apt-X capability. The reason I'm installing the Rocketfish Bluetooth is to make use of the apt-X on the Samsung Galaxy S4. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketf...11138&ref=39&loc=01&CJPID=6149808#tab=reviews
The plan is to pair my phone with the Rocketfish play my music collection off my Samsung Galaxy S4 through the bluetooth Rocketfish (using apt-X) which is power-sourced to the car battery (switched) and plugged into the Kenwood head unit's AUX plug. This should provide brilliant sound from my phone through the car speakers.
QUESTIONS
1. Since the Kenwood head unit has bluetooth functionality as well, do you foresee any interference or issues with music playing through my phone?
2. Is it possible to pair the phone to the Kenwood head unit (to use phone via car speakers) IN ADDITION TO the Rocketfish (for music)?
3. If number 2 doesn't work, is it possible to go through the Rocketfish for audio and then switch to bluetooth on the Kenwood head unit for incoming calls?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I guess it depends on the profiles offered by the Kenwood. My setup is to connect to the BMW inbuilt Bluetooth hands free, connect to an aptX Samsung receiver with a headphones out port plugged into the aux port of the car audio. When I get a call, it switches to the hands free automatically

Check out an app called sound about. You can choose what device different audio uses. For example you have media to be played through head unit and phone calls through you're other bluetooth device

Thank You and Clarification

Hi, thanks so much for a fast response! It sounds like what you're doing with your BMW is similar to what I'm wondering if my new setup can do.
A few questions:
1. The headphones out port you refer to - is this from the aptX Samsung receiver to the aux on your car audio head unit? (That's what I'm hoping to do with my Rockefish device). (Or are you referring to your headphones out port from your phone to the aux on your car audio?)
2. What kind of aptX Samsung receiver do you have in your car? (Can you post a link?) Is it similar to the Rocketfish?
3. Are you using specific apps on you phone to help in this situation, or is it as easy as it sounds?
Thanks again!

1. The former. Headphones out port from the apt x receiver to the head unit. The phone has nothing physically attached
2. HS3000. Google brings up loads of results for it.
3. No specific apps. Just regular bluetooth, with Play Music running .
i am getting an Alpine car stereo installed thursday. my previous alpine worked great with my iphone plugged in. i loved the bigger screen of the lg g2 and its features so i switched to android but this is my first experience with bluetooth music streaming in the car. is the quality close to on par with a wired connection? does it usually connect ok when you enter your vehicle and are most people happy with how it works with android phones? i read alot of google searches but i wondered if anyone could give me their specific g2 experience.
Hello everybody , I'm owner of Ownice C200 Chinese head unit and i hate about audio quality and Bluetooth. I was using Behringer UCA 202 Usb dac but few months ago it stopped to work. Dac working with other devices but with head unit it is not working. When i use USB audio player, I can hear sound via headphone but from stock car speaker , no sound. For this i bought line converter to connect directly RCA from USB dac, but then i learned it need amplifier to power speakers. ( if i am wrong , please correct me)
I search a lot of topics in XDA and i saw one message using two head unit in car but there is no more information. I want absolutely same things. I want to use Pioneer deh-prs80 ( i will hide it somewhere in car) and will continue to use Android head unit for navigation, watching movies, rear view camera purpose. Is it really possibly ? I don't want to install any amplifier to my car, i don't need loud music, i just need clear and crystal music. I have hertz esk 165.5l as speaker.
If it's possible how will be connection ? Car battery enough to make power for both head unit ? ( i will connect speaker wire to directly pioneer) , is it possible to connect android head unit to pioneer via aux or Bluetooth or what ? I wish when i use android head unit, sound will go to pioneer and this head unit amplifier to speaker quality sound.
I also wonder if it is possible can be sound quality difference playing directly from pioneer or through android head unit to pioneer ?
I hope this topic will help to people who suffer from audio quality expect other features in android head unit..
Nobody can help ?
Well I would connect it via Y Splitter and the Front RCA out on the HU would go to the AUX in the Pioneer deck and connect your bluetooth to the Pioneer HU instead of the Android. You would have to zero out the sound from the Android and adjust your EQ settings from the Pioneer to get the best quality needed.
So I replaced my head unit with a after market one a few months ago.
the exact model is an Xtrons TE706PL.
I also have a good set of car speakers ( 2x pioneer ts-g1720f (front door), 2x caliber cds46(trunk)
they work great and stuff but when I try going for more bass the sounds starts cracking. I know I could get a subwoofer to fix
but I wanted to try if it was possible to connect a bluetooth speaker to my car headunit. I have a JBL Boombox which sure pumps out more bass for sure. My idea was maybe trying to connect the JBL boombox to my headunit via bluetooth and using it as a Sub.
Did anyone try this? Is it even possible? if not I think I might have to get a Sub after all but I'd rather keep the 200-300 dollars in my pocket (I don't have a separate car amp and even though my head unit does have a sub input I'm not sure if that's actually a good think with the head unit amp(4x 45w)
any other thoughts and Ideas are more than welcome.
PS. im not 100% sure if this is the correct place to ask this
