Guys
i've got tomtom6 which i previously had installed on a se w960i, when i attempt to install it on the x1 the software reads the x1 as a HTC-KOVSKY Pocket Pc, it allows me to install the software but when i run the program it only takes up a third of the screen.
any ideas guys. Or does anyone know where i might be able to get tomtom 7 from
Cheers
You can do a search with the term tomtom 7.910 vga black and you should find a nice cab of it...
The W90i is Symbian 9 running UIQ 3.0.
The Xperia is Windows Mobile 6.1.
The two operating systems are very different from each other and I'm surprised that you managed to get TomTom6 from your old phone to run on the Xperia.
The best thing to do (IMO) is look up how to install TomTom 7.910. Here's a starting point for you.

Just installed Planmaker and Textmaker from Softmaker and they are running Very very nice just like a windows program
Try it with real VGA, you will be amazed...
Beautiful!
I really like textmaker, although I've barely had need to use it, but it looks great. Is this the same version as the old WM2003 one, but just running on WM5? Universal must be the best way to use this kind of pro software!
Heh, for the full experience, try my VJFullscreenTSC:
V
Yes they are the old versions but they are for Handheld PCs
The PPC version looks like this screenshot
@Shaytaan:
I installed the handheld version of planmaker on my Jasjar but I cannot see the menus, etc. I believe the problem is that I did not run the program in real vga mode as your recommend.
I know it might sound silly but can you please guide me how to turn on the VGA mode on my Jasjar.
Thanks for the wonderful information and kind regards
I'm starting to wonder about the X7501 - it's turning into hard work and the surprises are becoming a little (a lot) annoying.
The flaky Microdrive was the first surprise - still waiting on HTC (who have been responding to emails) to come up with a viable solution.
Now, I've just learnt from Tom Tom that my new X7501 will not run TomTom unless it is running the ROM that already has TomTom loaded:
Please note that only the Advantage X7500 running Windows Mobile 6 is compatible with Navigator 6. This PDA comes preinstalled with a special version of the Navigator 6 software on its Rom memory. Unless your HTC Advantage X7501 comes preinstalled with a special version of Navigator 6 it is not compatible with the software.
Perhaps I'm being a little ambitious, but I'd like the X7501 to use the TomTom software and maps loaded on the X7501 - not downloaded as you go. I'm happy to buy these (for Australia) from TomTom.
Do I box it up and return it or is there an alternative GPS/on board maps solution possible to bring this puppy back into the serious category?
Thanks
Bart
i dont see why you shouldnt be able to install tom tom and run it ... afterall it is a windows mobile program
have you tried?
I agree - it's only an app - so why do TomTom say it'll only work on a machine with the software preloaded?
BTW, Can't find a copy of TomTom 6 to try. Downloading the update from the site doesn't help. There's nothing on my HTC CD that may help.
works on Ameo
I manageded to get Navigator 5 working on the Ameo with WM6, can't see why you couldn't. TomToms tech support is very bad so don't take thier word for anything.
i have x7501 an TomTom 6 works great. pm me with you email an i can send you the cab file that you need.
pre-installed according to tomtom?
Bollocks.
Comes on the fricking CD to be added manually.
works fine as well, as does TT5 and Copilot 6 (apart from not natively being VGA, but seems to work for me anyway)
Maybe they mean the version of TomTom that is bundled on the CD?
When I got my x7500, it came with a bundled tomtom, sprite backup and a gprs monitor .. none of these work however if I'm using a custom ROM.
Downloading fresh, unrestricted versions of each however work fine .. looks like the cabs are rom specific
I have x7501 and x7500. i tried installing the cd that comes with x7500 and it doesnt work with x7501. it will tell you it is not the correct device. i have ttn 6 cab that works. pm me ...

Really? Damn...
I had to use SPB GPRS Monitor and 'find' a key
Oh well .. nevermind, I don't use TomTom that much as I dont have a car yet and I've jst got an unlimited data plan, so I dont really need the gPRS monitor anymore. Thanks for the input though .. can I ask which ROM you're using?
I want to know which navigate softwares WORK with P4350?
I now got TOMTOM, but want to change to Navigon...because of better graphics.
Greetings...
wow navigon looks pretty sweet. i don't see a windows mobile version though.
but i think most, if not all, gps will work. at least the better known ones will like tomtom and garmin. the only thing is that you will need to buy a bluetooth receiver, some packages come with them.
hello,
since yesterday, I'm trying cmonex's rom with phone(no voice) and gps working but I need an application to test the gps and I don't have one.

I am using Winodws Live! Search. It is cool. I also have Franson GPSGate (both PC and PPC) installed. On the Windows Vista side I installed Microsoft Streets. Franson GPSGate let me use GPS on Vista side, of course.

Could you help me a bit? I have no idea how to launch GPS in my Shift. I did everything that was on a film at Modaco. My shift is now liberated, but i don't know how i can set the gps port in Igo for example.
I have GPSGATE wm version and GPSGATE windows vista version installed on my shift and configurated both for activesync and IGO PC version works very very good.
igo8 works just great on my FS N520 wm5 device (which is only 312MHz).So, i suppose it will work fine on shift. It's perfect for europe - I have travelled to many european countries with it.But just one question: where will you install the program AND the maps, since wm side of shift doesn't read the sd card???
hehe ;-) you cannot install the maps. (as workaround you can move the maps to windows XP/Vista side, make this folder visible for network access and mount it with scecial tools on windows mobile side. But this is not more then a workaround, you must let running windows XP/Vista all the time too.. Not a really good solution...
the shift is a..... mistake... ;-)
there is IGO8 PC version that run in vista side very well

One minute for gps fix and then perfect navigation.
But i try again
Hi, did a search and nothing came up.
But just wondering where can i get the TOMTOM navigation software that works with the TP2 please??
also are there any sites specially for TP2/windows mobile apps??
thanks
AFAIK the Tomtom software is free, you only pay for the maps, but I could be wrong. I'm using 7.915.9196 which is VGA and works fine
I don't think there is any TP2 specific software on the market but there is loads of WM6 stuff
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php is a place to start and handango

same here, no problems at all. already tookm a trip, relied on it, and trip went perfect
TomTom is shipped with some devices. But it's not freeware!
Beware you don't start talking warez here
TomTom just made TomTom 7 available on their website for PocketPC's.
TomTom works just fine on the Rhodium probably.
no GPS LAG?
TOM TOM software is not free. and will not currently work with TP2. well the home software dont work. So i cant get the map i purchased. And they wont refund as i was not using a licensed version of software so definitely not free and not officially working

tom tom navigator works purfect on the TP2, have it on mine
Hi
I Have tomtom 7.450 installed on my tp2 and its working well for me.
yes but are they legal versions and work with the TOMTOm home
I had version 7.910.9185 which didn't install.
I have now installed 7.915.9196 but it is asking to activate the map and wants an activation code.
So I went to ttcode.com to get one and it needs the product code. I can't find the product code anywhere, tomtom.com myorders doesn't mention one and tomtom home just shows the map version.
As far as I can make out from tomtom's help version ttn7 onwards don't use product codes.
So how do I get the activation code?
Contact TomTom about that
tomtom again
Hey guys,
iam new here and from germany.
Last week i got my new TP2 (branded by T-Mobile, now called "MDA Vario V")
i tried to install following versions:
Mod Edit: NO MENTION OF WAREZ PERMITTED
so,
if i install the programm on my "phone-storage" i got the warning "BTTrayCE is not a valiued application..."
if i install it on my sd-card i got NO warnings.
but in every versions i got the problem that the software do not find my extractet maps. I searched for a long time and tried different folders, and now its 11:00PM and i dont have any nerves left
i hope somebody can help me and gimme a detailed instructure how to get my tomtom running.
so far,
mypTx
TomTom questions always walk a thin line with regards to legality. No discussion of maps will be permitted.
Opps sorry never mind
There should be a ttnavigator.bif file on the root of the storage card which you can open up in notepad and find the code in there...I think.
if you have live services like traffic and speed cameras then 7.915 is useless as you cannot enable traffic (bug). There is also a definate lag on the GPS side of things compared to my TYTNII. Tomtom at present do not officially support the TP2, although when i phoned them they were more than happy to assist. TTHome is not worth bothering with till they release a version that is compatible with it. I kept on getting errors about device id not matching even though you select to change it and TomTom had reset my account. Gave up in the end and have copied speed cameras manually and traffic is now working.
Managed to get Tomtom 6 working!
Hi,
Having just bought a Touch Pro 2 sim free - loving the device and just about got it set up the way I like it.
You can indeed install Tomtom 6 on it, but BEFORE you do I highly recommend you install a utility called WVGAFIX3. What it does is allow you to change the resolution on your TP2.
Change it to VGA (640x480), then install and run TomTom. It's a bit of a pain toggling between resolutions at the moment, but once a WVGA version of tomtom is released then problem solved.
Got the radio working thanks to the CAB on here, and the 1% batt driver!

Why TT6? TT7.915.916 runs great on my Rhodium. No hassle with resolutions or anything.
Hi,
I tried to install TT Nav. 7 on my TP2, but it doesn't seem to work. I get a message dat TT7 is not compatible with my device. How did you guys got it to work?
Dear all,
It is posible to route Tomtom sounds to bluetooth headset or radio cd bt enabled as handsfree (as a phone call, only hear Tomtom when needed and till then carry on listening music)?
Thanks.
