[THE] Lanscape Icons (Sketchy style) - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hey all! First off, I DID NOT create these icons. I merely swapped over .png's from an existing icon set provided by..........????? Well, I'm not sure who created this, I came across them not too long ago and have been searching for a landscape version since. Very much thanks to the original creator and I hope you don't mind what i've done here. I don' know how to make .cab files so you'll need to place these files into your \Windows folder manually. Remember to back-up your existing manila files in order to remove mine later (To remove mine just overwrite my manila files with your original ones.) Also, If you can't see the files in the folder, make sure you are able to view hidden files or folders on your CPU.

i like em. do you have any for portrait?

Here's portrait icons. It comes with a green cursor so I included the transparent slider I use as well. Install the cursor 2nd. Again, much thanks to the creator of this icon set as well as Pamas for the slider.

Sketchy style looks great. I like the icons.
If I copy all files inside windows, do I have than a Landscape mode. I just ask a stupid question because, my homescreen will not turn for it self.
Once in a while it turns but than it shows me on the left half side the screen tf3d but without slider (Tab). On the other side it shows just scratching something (can´t describe it).
thx for you help

If you are using a Diamond than no, my landscape files will not give you landscape mode. They are for TP users. The portrait mode icons will work for both diamond and TP. I suggest that you remove the landscape manila files and you should be fine.

I tried it and it doesn´t work. I use touch HD. Do you have any idear how to get a Landscape mode for HD because I open a thread with "Show me your Landscape screen" and they said that I have to Flash another rom, what I don´t want yet (because of Garanty).
Does it not give another way? I like to have you own because for my theme I use sketchy icons (Tabbar) and this Landscape will complete my theme.
thx

8525 home screen wish list

I am a definite newbie that just updated to wm6 and would like something different, you know to personalize my 8525. I would like to have a bigger clock and some local weather information. It would also be nice to have larger buttons to make better use of the available screen space. I do not have the capability to do any reg edits, or even know what they are - so I am asking for a simple installation method with instructions for something that does not void my warranty. Thank you very muck! You guys have always been very helpfull.
Install HTC Home Plugin and HTC Home customiser Big Clock Weather Tab, One Press photo dialing, App Launcher and Music player on your today screen with email messages and missed calls one click away with the customiser you can download and add cool colour icons and appearances
http://rapidshare.com/files/66632225/HTC_Home_2.0.8_TNT.rar
I could not figure out how to get it on the 8525. I did dl to my pc but could do anything with it.
copy them both to your device and run them from there they are cab files, just extract them on your pc then copy both cab files over to your 8525 and open them there
I got it downloaded directly to the 8525 but do not know what to do now. Not sure where it is either. please help
well wherever you put it on your hermes, e.g. storage card go there with file explorer on your device and click on each cab file and it will install ,install htc home customiser first as htc home will reboot the phone after it has installed
for a retail app, look at SPB Mobile Shell, which will do that and more
Will this program erase any data on the phone?

I need the original black slider

I need the original black slider (1e29e8e7_manila).
Thanks.
Please, I need the original black slider archive (1e29e8e7_manila), for my Diamond. Thanks.
Delete this files and make a Soft reset, the Orginal will be back.
All Ok. Thankyou very much BassX.
I am looking for the original htc slider in .cab form for my theme.
I have the O2 xda Ignito which I don't believe has it anywhere.
Can anybody help with this?
I have searched and tried to find a glass slider to work with my today screen but both the "Transparent glass slider" by Pamas
and the glassflosetup.cab (by I'm not sure) for some reason wouldn't work.
I'm trying to rectify the problem below. (doesn't look quite right does it???)
Thanks
I've also tried various other sliders but was informed that either a glass/transparent or the original htc one looks best with the icon set.
EDIT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have since found a clear slider and LOOK same problem (see attached thumbnail 2) ?!?!? Is my icon set the problem?
here is the original slider (manila file). Just copy it to the Windows folder

Thanks I'm hoping that my do it, anybody got a .cab file
I can manage those
I am pretty useless
Apologies for the double post but does anybody have the .cab file for the original black htc slider. I have tried to copy the manila file (above) into windows but had no joy.
Thanks (This would really finish off my wallpaper)
It is because you are using the transparent slider. You need Nisse's 3icon menu if you're going to run a transparent slider...
Also handy hint - Use Total Commander to copy any unzipped files across to your \Windows folder as that will bypass write protection.

just copy the image files for the selected programs and paste them into the root of your start menu folder within windows. There are quite a few variations of nicely designed ones in the forum. alternatively you can just use some compiled cabs from dinik or drik...
or just follow link

HD Wall

Ok, Newbie here. I have the Energy Sense ROM on my TMO HD2 and I have searched but no luck at finding what all I need for the HD Walls. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure that ROM doesn't have Cookie's Home Tab (CHT) baked in? If it does, you don't need HDWall beacuse that functionality is included in CHT's latest version.
If the ROM doesn't have that already, I'd recommend you just getting CHT anyway, it incorporates HDWall's methods, among others, and is a great tool to have around in general.
I used to use HDWall by itself all the time, but it's fairly complicated, and it's so much easier now just to use CHT to get the same effect.
ya its got the latest cht already. i kinda thought that but wasnt sure.so what else do i need to create wallpapers? is there a cab for the program i need on the desktop? sorry for the lack of knowledge, just couldnt find anything on it.

Check out the CHT thread, there's info there on the different ways you can do that, it's done through the CHT interface.
EDIT: Here's the link to it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483
You'll also want to check out the companion tool for that, Cookie's Home Tab Editor (CHTE). You probably have that as well on your ROM, it extends the functionality of CHT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633590
Thanks! Now I just need to find the program for my desktop to create the wallpaper and create a cab file right? If so where can I find these at? If I overlooked it my apologies.

No, you don't even have to do that, you just need to have the image you want to use saved on your phone somewhere (like in a "wallpapers" folder on your SD card, for example), and then you use the options in CHT to choose that image and apply it as the background on your phone. CHT will apply it on all tabs, and even skin the top and bottom bars for you, like HDWall would do.
I switched from using HDwalls to strictly CHT a while ago. It is much less problematic and easier to change wallpapers.
I don't suggest keeping your wallpaper in your SD card but copy it to the "wallpapers" folder in my documents. If you have it plugged into your computer (i do a lot) and reboot the phone it won't find the wallpaper on your SD card as it can't see the SD card because it it plugged in. Yeah, clear as mud.. anyway.

Very good point decim8, and I hadn't though of that...I had assumed that it cached the final wallpaper somewhere on the phone, but it's probably true that having it on the SD card will prevent the image from being usable whenever you're connected in disk drive mode to a pc over usb.
ok, I think Im a retard. I open CHTE and switch to HD wallpaper, reset the phone. I have saved the photo I want under the wallpaper folder on the device, and cant seem to figure out how to set it. The set wallpaper option goes away once I set it to HD and when I go to the photo and try and set it to the wallpaper the only option is todays background and I only see it when Im in the start menu. All tabs are black background and cant change to anything else.
From your home screen...
Hit the Menu soft key and then Set Wallpaper at the top.
Under the Home Tab section, tap the first thing, Portrait... and browse to the location you saved the image. Repeat as needed for the other sections.
Worst case, hit Albums, All...
It doesnt give me the option to set the wallpaper from my home screen (not able to be selected). It is an optoon when Im not trying to use HD though.
Sounds to me like you still have HDWall selected in CHTE.
Select Menu (soft key at bottom of home screen)
Select Co0kie's Home Tab Editor
Select Miscellaneous settings
Scroll down to the "wallpaper Mode" section. "HQ Wallpaper" should be selected, not "HDWall"
Please double check that this is the case. With this option selected you should be able to select "set wallpaper" with the Menu softkey.
EDIT: I have landscape on my home screen enabled via BSB tweaks and "set wallpaper" is not available from the menu when in landscape mode. Works fine in portrait.
Thanks!!!!!!! See I told you I was a retard. I did have HD selected instead oft the HQ like I should have. Thanks for all the help
Edit: The wallpaper is working correctly BUT when I try to set the Skin Taskbar and Softkey bar it gives me an error. Says "Out of Memory Exception"? The phone is no where near out of memory. I cant win for losing.

[APP] Control Panel Settings to Links (.lnk)

Hi guys,
I know it's a 10 seconds job to create a link for items inside the control panel (settings) such as "Usb to PC" or "Power" but I'm too lazy to do it every time I try a new rom,
also I found some of the values change from rom to rom, so I create a really simple app that goes through the registry key which holds the settings items (KLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start) and creates a .lnk file for each of these entries.
Having a direct link allows me to add that option as a quick link which is handy 8)
Anyway, here is the tool in case someone wants it.
The exe must be installed in "\Program Files\CplLinks" (Device). It only takes 11.5 kb. The only reason the .exe is needed after the lnk are created is to provide an icon.
When you run it, it reads the HKEY mention above and creates .lnk for each item in the "Settings" menu. The lnks are created in "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\CplLinks" so are directly accessible through the Programs menu.
There are no messages, it runs and creates the links, no interaction whatsoever so do not expect any nice popup window 8)
Next version will use specific icons for each item, right now, all the links use the same icon from the cpllink.exe executable.
The icons for most of the Settings are .png files rather than .ico, and WM doesn't have an easy way to convert from .png into .ico, the idea for a "future version" is to collect all the .png files, converted to icons and create a dll on the fly with the icons as resources, so they can be referenced from the .lnk files
Couple of screen shots from the emulator.
Great application! It works like a charm! Thank you for this convenient time saver
EDiT (another time saver)
After applying a Hard Reset WE have to reinstall all programs if you have previously installed them in the memory card. Often it is sufficient to recreate the shortcut in the start menu. ShortCutCreator helps you to recover the exe files and to recreate the desired shortcut.
Thanks for sharing!
I guess would be better if I manage to provide a different icon for each link, but Icon support is quite limited inside VM. Need to work in the PNG to Icon -> .dll routine 8)
I though having the app in internal memory was a better solution than in \Storage Card, so it will take less time to load the icon from the program, but I can change it and allow that option, so the icons in the links are pointing to \Storage.. rather than \Programs..
Anyway, it just a time-saver thingy 8)
Nice app. It does not seem to work on WM6.1 though.
It does create a new folder structure: CplLinks\System inside the Start Menu.
Very nice. It does seems to create a bunch of redundant or non-used links though
Yep, I saw it only works on WM6.5, on WM6.1 there are no "StartInfo\Start" in the "KLM\Security\Shell\". Not sure where it keeps that info, maybe somewhere else in the registry.
I finally managed to convert PNG to ICO, so I think next version would allow you to choose which items you want to create links for rather than just dump everything 8)

WM6.1 control panel is "HKLM\ControlPanel" if I remember correctly. There will be numbers for the mycpl stuff and words for some other control panel items like backlight, etc.
I think this post got lost in the last database disaster 8)
I wrote a new version of this tool that now gives you the icons for the control panel settings, check it out here:
