I'm about to replace my beloved Universal with a new PDA. So far, the HD is the only thing that comes close to it. Pitty about a lack of keyboard, but I should adjust OK.
I'd like to know if when you are in calander you can simply swipe left or right to change days. I use the dpad alot on my universal for doing just that: ie checking to see if I have an appointment the next day.
Can somone please check this out?
Big Cheers!
Yes, you can.

DeveloperOne released V7.50 of AgendaFusion for WM5 on 1st Dec. I haven't seen it mentioned in these forums. Anybody got any feedback about it?
I'm just about to try it:
http://www.developerone.com/agendafusion/download.htm#wm5
Hmm. First impressions: not good.
Contacts are displayed and I can search for them. I can't use the keyboard to dial a contact's number. Gotta use the stylus. This is enough reason to ditch the software IMHO. Can't use the keyboard to find and dial a number while in the car?? This is one strength of the built-in WM5 contacts app., which is actually pretty good.
AF calendar doesn't show a single appointment, of any kind. Weird. Can't find anything in the settings to show/hide certain types of appointment, so I don't know what's going on. Tasks are all displayed OK though. I added an appointment in AF and it appears in my sync'ed calendar on the desktop, but doesn't show on the Exec.
Can't use the keyboard to navigate the calendar or switch calendar view tab. So can't navigate to a day and start a new appointment without getting the stylus out. (For many people this won't be a problem, but it indicates to me that it's not fully compatible with our Universals. If they left out this possibility then what else didn't they consider?) Up/down keyboard buttons do nothing as far as I can tell. Why the hell not?
The screen through which you add an appointment is broken in VGA mode. Unbelievable  There's an unlabelled time input field orphaned in whitespace near the bottom of the screen. I've no idea what it refers to.
No soft-key tabs at the bottom of the screen for common tasks. This isn't a feature unique to the Universal: The soft-key input option is standard to WM5! Why haven't they used it, or at least offered the possibility?
So I'm not happy with AgendaFusion. This is a pity - I loved it on my XDA2. I had hoped that the long-overdue release of their "WM5-compatible" version meant that it'd be the killer PIM, but it offers nothing that PocketInformant doesn't offer, and PI was released weeks ago. What have DeveloperOne been doing?
I've been beta testing AF for a while and I am very happy. I use the Project Management feature a lot. Not had any problems with appointments.
I recently switched from XDAII to a TYTN.
Until now, no problems exept the calendar.
If I have like three appointments the next day, the device only shows me a maximum of two on the start screen, where on my XDAII the list was unlimited . Pretty annoying cause I'm used to see all of them when I switch my XDAII on and have an immediate overview.
Is it possible to change a setting so the calendar goes directly to the month lay out? Now I always have to toggle up via day, week, month or go via menu, view...
Also, if there are two appointments on the start screen and I tap on them, the device will always go to the "oldest" appointment.
Any settings I could change?
Thanks
No reply because it's so obviously simple or nobody knows..?
Anyone?
Come on guys, give me a tip here.
I did the normal stuff like going to start>settings>today>Items>calendar but then the "options" button is not available so I can't activate the "show all apointments".
What is a recently good and stable program to add programs/shortcuts on the today screen?
I looked into Claunch but that site is so old...
Pocket Breeze

I gave up on the OS Calendar today screen - no matter what options I selected, it would only display 1 day at a time... so I use PocketBreeze now... it very configurable, looks good, works well and seems compatible to WM6!

Not sure about the calendar issues.
Claunch may be old but it's a good one.
I use Wisbar Advance used in conjunction with Wisbar Advance Desktop. Can also be used for those cool customisations as well. Also permits multiple desktops so you can spread out your icons and plugins over several pages to save clutter. each desktop can be customised differently.

I just wondering why there are so few application dedicated to calendar that are finger friendly, except for OTO i cannot find anything else
I really wish to control my cruise with just finger except when I have to do particulary task like setting and so on
I second that! OTO isn't going well for me either, can't really say why, but don't like it.
I pretty like OTO, but homepage is down and this version is like more to a plugin than a standalone calendar, actually u cannot see in OTO appointment or task but just create a new one, and imho is better than nothing, beside that I know at least 6 different finger friendly contact application some free some to buy, but neither 1 calendar finger friendly, I wonder if is so hard to program than contact one or if no1 like to use finger for everyday tasks
I use OTO a little but I mainly use VoCalendar. On first install looks like puke but has a very skinable interface and you can add / Edit appointments and in Moth view its easy finger friendly and desplays custom icons for you appointments...
Only thing lacking is load time really.
It would make a great platform idea for a new more modern application.
My 2 pence anyhow
I have been using it for nearly 4 years now! I will dig out a screen for you!
MM
VoCalendar Screenie.
Everything you see except the bottom grey bar is skinable!
Icons, Wallpaper, Headers etc!
MM
Thanks!!!
Seems pretty nice, but add a new event (specially time) is finger friendly?
If you press and hold it pops up a menu where you add an appointment.
You can pre-program types of appointments so times etc are already set. However if you want to edit them it just pops the normal windows mobile edit feature... pants part i guess.
But if you have pre programed stuff then it will auto display the right icon and set the right times.
This combined with OTO would be perfect but as we know its not a perfect world lol!
MM
Thanks again, it's not a perfect world but I still hope some1 soon or later wants to take the hard task to program a nice ff calendar, we have tons of contacts ff yet so I guess many of us will looking for it =)
Have you guys seen the new Pocket Informant v8? It has an option for "touch mode" and it allows native scrolling in most places without the need to have an htc touch or FTouchFlo.
Nope, do you use it? is it easy to set up or just blowtware? Can you add custom icons?
MM
Ok I have tried for about 1 hour, is a wonderfull agenda but far far (notice double far ) away from being finger friendly, what I mean for finger friendly is similar to Oto or that 1 for iPhone (check it here)
i am looking for a simple countdown timer for my phone that is finger friendly and easy to read. here is what i have found so far (in the same order as the pics below):
SimpTimer by Fann Software
http://www.fannsoftware.com/PpcSoftMain.html
i have been using SimpTimer since i found it on one of those freeware sites, and it works, but since there are multiple timers on screen its already smaller and more confusing at a glance than what i would like.
Pocket PC Timer by JabSystems
http://www.jabsystems.co.uk/products/pocket-pc-timer/
this one has the right idea, but the arrows are kinda hard to hit with my thumb. based on all the empty space, it seems like a simple layout redesign would make this perfect.
deltaTimer by Christoph
http://www.deltadevelopment.de/users/christoph/deltaTimer/
what i am currently using. while moving the hand of the dial to set the timer (like a kitchen timer) is kind of a "fun" touch, i would rather trade it for something like "+" or "-" buttons and a bigger start/stop button.
finally, the 4th picture is just a crappy mock-up of what i would really like. you touch the top or bottom half of the numbers to go up or down, and there is a nice big start/pause and stop/reset button. it would also match many of the HTC themes floating around here.
Many thanks for this compilation, i was looking too for such a thing !
What i need is -freeware- a countdown and a timer... Like the antic StopTime, by Jonathan Sachs...
http://home.comcast.net/~jonsachs/
But, it seems that such a product doesn't exist for WM5...
So, i've installed Simple Timers by Fann Software for the countdown (egg are good with only 3.3 minutes cooking ! ), and SinPocketStopWatch for the counter (by seconds or by 1/100 sec)
But, i'm still looking for a combinated product !
Maybe a future evolution of FannSofware...
I use deltatime it´s very nice, i like the analog timer
to bad
Just notice Deltatimer doesn't work when your phone is sleeping/screen is off
I'm using Fizz Alarms it is alarm, counter and stoppwatch with fingerfriendly interface.. but it's not freeware..
ok, Fizz Alarms looks interesting, I will check it out.
In the meantime, I found this in our very own forums:
TouchWatch by lopez1_de
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367333
It is pretty nice, I am actually going to make a couple requests for some tweaks, but it is pretty close to what I want. I wish I knew how to program, since he even posted the source code.
Thanks alot! SimpleTimer is just the thing i was looking for! :-D
do any of these programs allow u to set a date and time and then it countdowns till that specific event?
like if u put in the date that u were leaving for vacation.. would any of these countdown till that date arrived ...?

is it me or is there no way to download... haha
Hi there
Hope I'm not missing something obvious but nothing came up when searching.
Is there a way to widen the letter collumn in contacts as my fingers are way too big to fit ? I really don't want to use 3rd party unless neccesary.
And what about the top startbar - can you make that thicker?
cheers,
Jesper
Bump - sorry but someone must know how...
Yeah. What he said
Bump Bump!
I second that. I have somewhat large fingers and I swear I can never get the right letter in that list unless I use the stylus or fashion a stylus out of my thumb nail (not too attractive).
This would be great. Hoping someone has a solution

yeah i don't know how they expected up to use that... this phone should be called the touch (sometimes ) diamond
try to search for icontact.
the burt edition is good
it's better than default contacts anyway.
the sprint cdma version i got didn't even come with the letters on the side. Or the letters on the side when selecting a city for weather....sucked until I flashed to new rom.
I think icontact and for that matter PCM contacts are very good alternatives. But my my point is that windows contacts are fine for me except from the ridiculous small letter scroll option. I thought there might be a clever registry hack or something like it ......
