TyTN - Too many low battery notifications.

When the battery of my TyTN gets at 20%, I start getting system notifications warning me about a low level battery and others telling me to charge the battery like the manual says so.
The issue is that at 20% the TyTN still has a lot of life time, and meanwhile until the battery gets completely drained, I get MANY of these notifications that keep disturbing, it really isn't handy.
Does anyone know any solution for this? Maybe some way to start this notification only at 10% and maybe making them fewer.
It's only needed one or two notifications to remember us we are getting low on battery power, no need to keep reminding it all the time...

On the same general topic, anyone else find the battery status to be inaccurate?
I've re-enabled the small, four-bar battery indicator at the bottom of the home screen with a hack from MoDaCo.
Thing is, it's full most of the time - then wack! it goes to one-bar red and I start getting notifications. It doesn't seem very dependable. Anyone else get this?

same problem with me. looks like there is some serious bug with low level battery notification. in my case, i have Magic Button installed and i'm using its feature, which shows thin battery bar at top 2 pixels of screen (something like Batti). each time when i wake up my Vario II, this indicator always shows 100% battery for 2-3 seconds, after which it refreshes back to current state.
so this thing brings the idea, that these multiple notifications are caused because device 'thinks' that battery is full after each wake up, but after few seconds it turns out that it isn't, so system is generating notification - again and again after each wake up.

I've been having similar issues except in my case the battery is actually full.
The device powers up after being in 'sleep' mode (or sometimes during normal usage) and generates low battery notifications, even though the battery has been on charge all night and is actually full or at nearly full charge.
A soft re-set doesn't seem to help but physically switching the device off and on again seems to fix the problem (the battery showing 100% afterwards) but theres a definate bug with the power monitoring software

I really want to know how to modify registry of Hermes to avoid low battery notification too

Just a thought, on other devices such as the universal and breeze etc... (i see ive mentioned smartphones aswell as ppc) ... is the battery indicator shown in 10% blocks like the hermes or are they in steps of 1%?????

There is still no way to change the battery monitor to 1% steps.
From what I've checked, there is still no fix for this massive flood of low battery notifications. If anyone have any other idea... please share it.

My WM6 ROM show low battery warning at 40% - really annoying. I really just want to get of these notifications altogether!!

One possible cause of the battery showing that it is full only to have it drop 50-80% after a few minutes is that you are using a trickle-charger such as the USB cable to charge it.
When charging with one of these devices, when the battery says it's fully charged it usually isn't. You will want to take it off of the charger for a minute or two after it says it is full and then put the charger back on if you want to get a consistent full charge with a trickle charger.

Any news about the annoying low battery notifications?
I hate it and I would like to kill it forever...

In s-k software's sktools there an option to allow it to show the low battery notification in the sounds and notifications. I find this very useful as i disable the message on the screen which gets in the way when it pops up to tell you battery is low. You can even change the sound or just disable the notification completely! Theres got to be a reg setting for it so people can use this little hack without buying the program.

Battery emptied during the night??

Last night before I was going to bed I have had my xperia fully charged.
When I woke up this morning the battery was almost empty.
I can't understand how that happened :S I had no programs running except maybe g-alarm.
Anyone who has an idea what could've drained my battery?

No reception or low signal from ur fone provider maybe? it consumes a lot of power getting the signal. Or your wifi is turn on.

But I'm not sure I didn't let something run in the background. Mediaplayer for example .. skype can eat battery in minutes too.
Also I don't know what battery level I had at the evening. It was above 50%, but then with Xperia, the indicated level does not correspond to remaining time well. It drops fast after 50%.
I would love if I could close any application with red phone button. Anybody knows about software which can do it ?

are you using fish panel?fish panel caused battery drain in my experience.also bluetooth and wifi as well.

do you use AEButton plus or S2U2 (more to the point AEButton here) as AEButton especially seems to have drainage issues if its 2.6.5, at least it seemed to for me and some others...

None of these. And Fish panel for example cannot be left running in the background (AFAIK). Media player, or skype easily, since they are even intended to be run in background.

Happens mee also sometimes. Weekend I noticed that after useing opera it does it. I chargered my xperia in friday, didnt use it then whole day, or in saturday, but in saturday night I wanted to check news whit opera, battery was 90% when I start, after use its was 80%. I go to sleep and morning I waked up to that xperia says battery critical. It cant be anything else when I didint use nothing else whole day, and when it was allredy stand one day whit only 10% loss, and now randomly use 60% battery at night.

I think I had S2U2 running in the background, could that be it?
I'll soft reboot before going to bed tonight and see what happens ^^

if you turn it off it'll be all nice and alert after a nice sleep
only time my x1 runs low is if I fall asleep reading something with mobipocket on autoscroll...

I found that when I was running Push E-Mail over iMAP, I had this battery draining issue. Make sure you're configuring FlexMail or any other IMAP IDLE client to only the essential folders that you want to keep 'live', as each IMAP IDLE folder requires its own connection and can eat up a lot of resources/battery.
I've actually wrote myself a MortScript that will monitor the battery status and allow FlexMail to stay open if the battery is over 80%, and it will close FlexMail if the battery falls below 80%.
Still hating the fact that we only get battery readouts in 10% increments. Total crap for a high profile device...

I don't need to know what is running. I want to be sure I've just closed something. In fact I need to close 99% of application, I only need IM+ in background and that only sometimes. Also sometimes I need to adjust some settings without closing current application. But otherwise I always want to close, not minimize, and I want to do it with a key.

Same issue here , will a lil bit more tricky , i had my phone TURNED OFF , and was CHARGING , woke up and the red little light on the power button ( light of death) was on, replaced my batter with my spare one , and the phone came back to life , yet it isn't charging ( the charging icon is there but still not charging) , I'm using the wall charger ( if any one is thinking of an usb issue) . So for now i'm useing an "external battery base charger" which sucks to be honest ( takeing the battery in and out isn't the best thing ever ) ..
The funny part is that SOMETIMES ( 1 out of 100 ) the phone charges, why !! i don't really know . I reflashed my device , hardreset and done anything someone can possibly do yet no solution , it's not on warranty and to be honest i think that it's more of a software issue (i know that not charging while switched off is against this ) , I'll be so greatful if any of you guys have any ideas

I had the same problem, but for me it happend when I got a text message at night the the screen wouldn't turn off but xperia tweak fixed that

I had one instance of mysterious night-time draining. It actually woke me up at 4am with the low battery alarm.
The only thing I think might have caused it is that I had it sitting next to my old Nokia, which was switched off. I figure its antenna must have been interacting with the X1's such that it had to go to full power just to keep the cell signal.

I don't have this issue now but i've noticed something weird last night.
All background applications was turned off, screen backlight was turned off, LEDs on both sides was turned off... But there was white light inside my phone. I was sleepy so i didn't check keyboard backlight. Propably it was it. It was visible only it dark, in correct angle.
I've turned device off and on again and there was no light any more.

I had tried this issue before, it fixed after I uninstall the SKtools

I uninstalled S2U2 and I think it made the job

i've been searching forums here and there regarding x1's battery issue and i'm not using any of those suspected programs (AEplus, S2U2, batti, etc.). mine is just stock xperia as of now, except for SPB plus. but still my battery only manages 14 hours of juice with very minimal usage i assure you. i have tried charging while off, hard reset, upgrade to R2A UK generic ROM, but still my battery sucks. i also noticed on the Settings>Power box that my "Main battery" is Li-ion, isn't it supposed to be Li-poly as the one written on the battery itself (BST-41)? Also, how much drain do we expect from a weak carrier signal? thanks guys.

I also had a problem with the battery not lasting me through the night. I eventually found out it was S2U2. I upgraded to v1.45 (with the power-saving option) and now the battery remains at the same level during the night.

You said it yourself.
I've been experiencing this for many days. I would charge my unit overnight only to be awaken by the low battery signal. In a normal scenario my X1 would only loose only 0-10% over a period of 8 hours in standby. When the fast discharge occurred it would drop to 50-60% and the unit was warm in touch.
I checked repeatedly to find which program was to blame, soft reset the device various times and changed my usage patterns to rule out programs that didn't had to do with it.
In the end I discovered that every time G-Alarm was triggered or set up an Alarm the quick discharge effect and warm device appeared.
I got rid of it and haven't encountered the problem again.

idle process

Hi, i've noticed that my hd heats up really a lot, and at the same time i realised that in task manager a so called "idle process" it's allways at +80% from processor speed.
Do you think it's sometinh to do to the fact that the device it's allways hot (even wen in standby) and the batery drains relatively fast and also the fact that it takes ages to charge. I've allready sent it on repair and received it today with stock rom 1.56, but the problem remains spite they've said that everything was ok...
I've flash the Dutty's V3.3 XT and on the task manager i've noticed that idle process... it makes me wonder...

Don't wonder.
The idle process isn't doing anything. It is certainly not the cause of battery drain or heat.
It's actually not even a process, just a "counter" telling you how much of the processor is doing nothing.
If you look at the task manager in your own computer, you'll see that it also has an "idle process". It's the same thing.
For more information regarding the idle process just google "Idle process" and you'll get a ton (actually about 409,000 ) hits...

You can use an application that can monitor current drawn from the battery to see if you have an issue. There are many apps that can be used - i use phone alarm from pocketmax.net that acts as a profile switcher, but has many additional functions including power monitoring and battery temperature.
Typical values that i see are as follows
Idle (no apps running) radio on, wi fi off, screen set at level 2 --> around 84 - 100mA
While browsing the internet via wifi, this typically increase to around 170mA
While browsing internet via 3G this can increase upto 350 - 500mA peek.
The touch HD can get very warm when in use.

The thing is, its getting very warm with NO USE. It can run the entire battery flat in less than 12 hours with NO USE.

Operating system? Screen colors? Flashlight for movies or photos?
Battery - energy loss or charge? Age - recycles from deep discharge? Plugged for longer than needed? Air temperature or silicon cased? Temperature with heavy energy drain?

As far as software goes, the biggest killers of battery I've noticed have been push notifications and wifi. Turning both of them off almost doubled my battery life. I now have my emails synched every 10 or 15 minutes instead.

In addition to wifi and push, a big one maybe the biggest, which is often overlooked, is screen brightness. These big giant screens burn a lot of battery. Keeping it as dim as you can stand it will actually save quite a fair share of battery

I feel silly for not mentioning that one myself now

heres a funny thing i found, i replaced my Apacer 8GB Class 4 card with a Sony 8GB class 4 card. the phone use to hang with the apacer card.
the thing is, ever since i´ve made the change, the phone sucks up twice as much power.

Calibrating Android's battery read will allow Android to fully charge your battery, and if you have battery profiles in setcpu, then the app will scale your processor speed by a more accurate reading, giving you longer battery life. I did it on the couple of builds I use most, and it really does make a difference
And dont feel silly john, I sometimes take my enormous screen for granted too
Edit: hmmm maybe my class 2 is why i get good battery life, maybe a slower r/w speed sucks less juice?

i am just looking for a windows rom, a radio, and an android rom, to get the best battery life...

Have a look at my signature.
Data enabled, push every hour only 5mA in standby.
If it is in airplane mode it only uses 2mA most of the time. That's quiet good

From what I can tell, the single most important factor for better battery life is using an auto boot app, such as Exceller's, to boot into Android soon as possible. I set mine to auto boot in 3sec. If you let WM/Sense boot fully, you will experience higher than normal battery drain; around 60-70 mA drain in standby. Also, try installing Advanced Configuration Tool in WM and enable all options under Power Management. Have tried these techniques with pretty much every WM Rom and Android combo and average around 3-9 mA draw in standby with wifi, sync, gps and data all enabled. This translates to about a day and a half of moderate use for me. Also, remember that Sense builds tend to use slightly more battery than non-sense builds.

This method really works! The simplest way!

I have trying different things for some times as why my HD2 was always 60mA+ power drain but some others reported as low as 5mA in standby mode. I tried different builds and different settings but none worked. I almost want to flash to change my stock rom or give up the idea of using Android.

It doesn't really, mV is a measure of state (what condition your battery is in), mA is a measure of change (how much power is currently leaving/entering your battery).
Download current widget, free from market, to track the current (= in mA)

Current Widget. Set it to update every 60 secs, and then leave your screen off for more than 60 secs, turn the screen back on, and check the widget.
Battery drain with screen off should be somewhere between 5-9 mA

My battery meter in the status bar looks about 60-70% full, but battery widgets say i have about 50%.
Does this mean that I need to calibrate?
I tried to delete the battery stats with Droid Explorer but it seems to be in read only? (It doesnt do anything when i click delete).
I guess I'll set up ADB and delete that way.
Also I seem to get better battery without LED me know, (why do i need this?)

Just run terminal emulator on your phone and type:
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin

oh, you can do this on the phone.

I'am interested in optimizing battery usage/life on my Note 3.
I want to know what functions is free to switch off or reconfigure to decrese battery usage
But I dont want to cut phone functonality too much...
I'am not interested to tips like:
- switch Wi-Fi OFF
- switch Bluetooth OFF
- switch GPS OFF
- disable synchronization
- disable background data
- disable S Beam, NFC, Air Gesture, Air View, Smart Stay
- disable vibrations
- switch phone OFF when not using
- turn Power Save mode ON
- turn Airplane Mode ON
- lower down CPU/GPU frequency
Because they make phone much less usable and fun because it's many nice and amazing functions wont work...
I've already applied following tips:
- disable Google Now
- disable raporting GPS position
- disable location history
- turn screen brightness to AUTO
- remove unused/unneccecary widgets (especially this with auto update/sync)
- turn off autostart of unnececary apps (with All-In-One Toolbox)
- turn off "notifications from server" in "Samsung Apps" settings
Because i know that following tips are working and have positive impact on battery life (about 20% more power in my case)
I can't root phone (MJ7 firmware...) so I cant use Greenify to make more battery life...
If somone know some more configs/tips/apps that can be applied to increase battery life I will be very interested

This I believe is a myth, if anything AUTO uses more battery IMO. I set my brightness at around 40% or so and I get 30 hours (with 3-4Hours screen time) or so average out of my battery, Only other thing I disable is GPS.
It's more about how/what you actually use on your phone rather than what you can disable and not use.

I think you're looking for a reduction in "idle" battery drain as in use battery drain is kinda unavoidable.
There are tools like "Tasker" you can use to automate all the radios
you can use "app ops" to stop all the apps that push your location (this will do the most)
"autostart manager" allows you to stop apps from running all the time.

Do you have an n9005? If so the Snapdragon Battery Guru app definitely helps by switching your networks on and off based on usage, etc.

I never thought about that, I had that on my HTC One. But I didn't find that it helped much in all honesty. I'd be interested to know how well it's responding with the N9005 though, are you using it?

Yes I am. It doesn't make a night and day difference but it definitely makes a difference. I even uninstalled it to double check that I wasn't imagining it, now I'm annoyed with myself because it's still learning again.

Without all you wrote.. rules are those:
1) NEVER close apps (if you close the app ram pages will be deleted, so, it's needed to re-upload those, it has an huge energy consuption
2) use the phone "slowly".. i'm meaning, the fingers moves
3) if you are reading a text, read all the page than slide to see the new text, it's to prevent an high ramp up of frequency for long time

Snapdragon battery guru raplace the sysfs of the governor

First impressions from this Battery Guru are not so good... Battery is running down faster than without it... Maybe because its still in "learning mode"...

Yup just cause it's in learning mode, it'll settle once it's learnt everything

I am not a heavy user so a battery last more than a day sometimes 3 days.If I was I would just get an extra battery and not obsess over trying to maximise battery life.One of the advantages the Note has over most other phones is a removable battery.Take advantage of this feature.It takes less than minute to change a battery.

Replacing battery requires switch off the phone and taking off back cover of the phone (i'am affraid that it will damage it after many opens... i'ts a plastic after all...) and then put back cover and switch on the phone... It's troublesome and not comfortable...

It doesn't take long to switch the phone off.Mine takes 10 seconds.Taking the back off and replacing the battery takes another 15 seconds.Turning it back on takes another 15 seconds.All up less than a minute.
I can imagine how some people might be reluctant to take the back cover off almost daily.The back cover feels a bit flimsy and it's reasonable to assume it won't be durable with that sort of usage.I have the Note 1 and after two years of almost daily taking the back cover off it is still fine.The Note 1's battery life is horrible and even with light use I don't get a full day from it.Most people replace their phone after 2 or 3 years anyway so I don't think durability is a problem unless maybe you plan to keep it for 5 years.
But I can understand why some people might be reluctant to repeatedly tear the back cover off their brand new pride and joy.

I guessed everyone had their own way of energy conservation. For me, I use dark wallpaper. For our screen (Super Amoled), Black = LED off. LED off = not using energy. So in theory, black wallpaper or black background should uses much less energy than bright sunny light wallpaper.

This is very true for Amoled displays.The only time I notice my N3 drains the battery more than usual is when the display shows a lot of white such as internet surfing and using WhatsApp.Watching a movie does not display a lot of white and the N3 battery life becomes remarkable.

Battery
Go into the application settings and deactivate all samsung apps u dont need! Saves alot of Battery. Don't charge ur note if its Not empty. Just charge it if u are under 25%. You can also work with Tasker - it helps you to save your Power if u change yours settings automaticly. Also dont change ur brightness all the time
