hi,
can someone tell me of a good calender software? this is what im looking for:
nice colourful calender
easy to use
big day/time/events (easy to see)
motion if possible (but not important)
Take a look at SBSH Calendar Touch: http://www.sbsh.net/products/windows_mobile_pocket_pc/calendar_touch
It's finger-friendly, has gestures (goto Today is "swipe-up", etc.), and works really well. You can set it to replace all your standard PIM shortcuts if you want and you can assign it to a soft-key on installation.
It's what I use (in combination with SBSH PocketBreeze) after testing:
- Pocket Informant (not finger-friendly)
- Agendus (too cluttered)
- SPB Diary (too slow, really)
Links:
- SBSH Calendar Touch
- SBSH PocketBreeze
No, I do not work for SBSH in any way, I just think these 2 products are great.
thought pocket informant it's not touchfriendly (I have no problems with it) I like the ability to see the appointments inside every day, not in a separate window.
I combine it with SPB Diary on the homescreen and SONYPANEL (deppending the mood xD)
ThumbCal is the best for thumb use...

ThumbCal somehow hangs on my X1. Don't know whether it's cos I've TF3D installed as well. So I've gotta look for an alternative as well.
I use agendaone

I use SBSH calendar as well. It's fast and have different icons to show different activities, good and enough for me already

I use the Orange Today screen, as it seems to have all the menus for the scroll wheel. I would really like to add other things to the today screen and have tried to use SPB plus, but it seems that I can either have the Orange today screen or the SPB plus desktop, not both.
What I really want is a customisable scroll wheel menu list and today screen elememnts (weather, battery life etc) all together.
Can someone suggest how I do this or what programmes I should be investing in?
SPB Pocket Plus etc
I also have a SPV 3100 and I got rid of the Orange customisation immediatly and installed SPB pocket Plus, SPB Diary, SPB Weather which is all usable with the scroll wheel. This makes the device much more effective than the Wizard.
I do not know if pocketbreeze works well with the scroll wheel, but prehaps another user can advise.
Wisbar Advance Desktop works for me:

You can add in custom skins - loads kicking around. I'm using vista and zPhone carbon black skins:

Great looking skins....maybe I have to try Wisbar!! always worried at how these affect the phone and whether things are slowed down....
I too love the look of wisbar, but i did find that it slowed down my wizard. I assume it has the same effect on the wizard?
Is there anyway I can replace the calender in mobile shell Today screen with the one for Pocketbreeze?
I really hate the WM calender. It shows so limited items.
yeah, I think the same. PocketBreeze is the main reason why I use Windows Mobile instead of an iPhone. The way it show your appoinments and todo's is amazing and is how the default WM calendar must show the items.
I use this combination:
Today plugins: only pocketbreeze .... And I run spb mobile shell with the NOW interface all the time... this way I have a big clock, control over the alarms, weather , silent/vibrate mode, and etc. at a glance.
When I press hang key (red button) it take's me back to today screen and I have access to pocketbreeze. Because I only run this 2 programas (1 normal program: SPB MOBILE SHELL and 1 today plugin: Pocketbreeze), it can switch fast and has no delay.
For almost 2 years I used Wisbar Advace (1,2,3) and it make my phone laaaag for everything. It was amazing but I like a more responsive device, so try my way and tell me if it helps you.
PS: My settings for the 2 soft buttons are:
left key: NOW SCREEN right key: DIAL TAB
This is a good idea. And definitely maximizes memory.
But thinking about it, I now remember why I wanted pocket breeze on the now screen. Because unless pocket breeze is blatantly in front of my eyes (without having to close NOW screen) then I will not look at my calender events lol.
But it is still a better situation, but still not ideal. I'll try it for a bit and see how it works for me
Hi everyone,
the question is simple as you can see on the headline.
I'm testing the trial version of Pocket Informant 8 and that program is great. Nice usabalitiy and functions.
But I only use the SE Panel 2, that one with a monthly calendar, clock, to-do etc. not the main Panel. The problem here is, that PI8 would not fully integrate on that panel. Only the contact list works well, but I use a shortcut. If I would go on the monthly view, the X1 kicks me to the normal calendar.
Does someone know how to make it? I had activate PI8 as the standard calendar as well, but no use. :/
use the SoftKeyApplet.cpl and change the left softkey to PocketInformant
(google for the applet)
Not working

In that case the calendar on the panel screen as well as the agenda items still refer to the old WM mobile agenda. Or am I doing something wrong?
Nobody knows how to solve this?

Nope u'r right, only the softkey for the calendar is then for PI, but the panel buttons are still the old winmob calendar.
Didn't found out anything until now, hope we can get help, I really like the calendar and have no idea how to change the registry savetly.^^
I use PI8 extensively and am thinking of getting an X1 so gonna bump this in the hope that someone has a solution.
thanks!

The only solution I was forced to use is to disable them... they take too long to load anyway, and functionality is limited.
Use the free SPB Mobile X panel instead; on their forums there is a free plugin download, that integrates it with PI 8.

It isn't fully integrated on mine.
I use the SPB mobile panel and have also downloaded the Pocket Informant (PI) plugin from Spb. Now the Calender correctly loads the PI calender but the contacts tab on the spb shell still directs to the win mob contacts page
Anyone found a way to integrate the PI contacts to the 3rd tab for contacts on the Spb mobile panel ?

I think the original WM Today Screen is the best.
It is very flexible and you can add any plugin u want.
Just put some plugins and you are good to go.
I really dont understand why many people overlook the functionality of the Today Screen which can get anything done in one screen. Unlike TF3D, SPB Shell, or the X Panel which have to scroll pages.
hi, i'm using the standard windows today screen, i guess i'm old-fashioned but kind a got used to it. the problem with the HD is, it will only view one appointment at a time, even though i have multiple appointments on that day.
any suggestions..
For a much more powerful calender today-plugin you can try TodayAgenda (freeware) or SBSH PocketBreeze (shareware) or SPB Diary (shareware)...
which do u recommend. do they support the WVGA screen on THD
TodayAgenda runs without problem on HD res

I have invested in Spb Mobile Shell, Diary and Phone Suite.
Switching to this through SecondToday, I now have a REALLY powerful and flexible PDA.
I can see ALL my diary appointments for the next month and all birthdays for the next year. I use Gyrator to place the PDA in "lock" mode whenever the stylus is inserted, and this then also activates the "Spb Today" function, showing a really useful Today screen. When the stylus in withdrawn, the PDA unlocks itself, and a single button press takes me back to the TouchFlo Today screen.
Through Phone Suite - which I only use to configure the ring volume - I can set a better selection of ring volume, ring type (ie vibrate, ring, mute, level) and can even program different ring levels for different times of the day (eg if I am at work) or if I have a calendar appointment.
I hated the TouchFlo display at first, but now coupled with Spb (which I have to say is first-rate), I now really love this PDA.
TodayAgenda, SPB Diary
Tried installing both on my TouchHD, installation successful, but nowhere to be seen under PROGRAM? Any suggestions?
I am not sure, but dont you have to activate them under the option today (due to tha fact that both are today plugins)? I also think you have to use secondToday to use these programs.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Greetings
Ascenca
Thanks for your response. I checked under TODAY and found TODAY AGENDA. Ticked it, but didn't see it anywhere else. Checked TODAY again, and found that it was unticked. Only Touchflo3D was ticked. When Touchflo3D was disabled, only then TODAY AGENDA appeared on the TODAY screen. Is that how it should worked? And if you don't mind what is Second Today?

I can only speak for Spb Diary here, but it does need Spb Mobile Shell in order to work. Mobile Shell can easily be switched to by using SecondToday.

SecondToday allows you to have in addition to the TouchFlo a second today screen assigned to one of the two soft buttons at the bottom of the screen (above the hard buttons).
I use this with SBSH PocketBreeze - excellent app. I have also in the past used SPB Diary which also is very good.
Using secontdtoday I am now able to view my whole diary (and access all the other SBSH features) and swop back to TF3D.
TouchFlo (TF3D) will not allow you to have other today screen plugins (I think). Hence the need for Secondtoday. Search the forum for secondtoday. It also is in my recent post 30 minutes ago in the working applications thread.
Hi,
is there any way to integrate Pocket Informant (agenda view) on the Toch Flow 3 D , maybe by clicking on the calender (so that PI opends in agenda view)?
This really depends how touchflow works.
There are 2 ways. Touchflow can adress the default calander, or the actual program. In previous releases, it adressed the actual program. So big change this will be the case again. Also, from what I've seen, the only way to still open the agenda is installing a 3th party calendar.
When you launch the standarrd Calander app, it will redirect you to the touchflow 3d calender tab. I have to say it's irritating to see that there is no option to go to the real agenda.
As for pocket informant, when you install it you can work with it. Everything you fill in there will come into the regular agenda, en thus also in touchflow 3d.
I expect you won't be able to launch pocketinformant from the touchflow agenda.
(it's upto the pocketinformant developers to decide if they release a tool that integrates with touchflow 3d, but it probably will be the XDA people who will make this possible. Hopefully, with a single program instead of a full rom
I base this information on video's I've seen and past experiences with touchflow. (So haven't had the device in my hands yet)
Another simple option (till we could have a solution)could be to programm a hardware butten in order to open PI agenda view (subject there is any button left /available on the Touch Pro 2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810
Helps?
I am not 100% sure if it is TF3D2 compatible.
But in TF3D you (on my PRO) you can then use the srings of the shortcuts of PI to alter the links...
Hope it helps.
