Hi everyone,
I am from Greece and I am interesting in a program that will be able to download the whole Greek map of Google Maps in my HTC from home.
So, when I go to a mountain that I don't have Internet access I will be able to track my position.
Do you know any program that can do that?
Do you know if I can do something similar using a GPS software?

It's way better to use a programm like GPS Tuner with the right map then using Google Maps for that!

If there's an exsisting Map for the wanted region, why not? But you can also make your own maps by scanning a map of trails!
If you know to use Google, you can search for an app that can make huge GPS-ready maps using Google Earth on your desktop!

@bfcamara.....tomtom or mapking...but if your location is not covered by tomtom or mapking like me ...i use google maps...you can dowload it for free..

I have been using GPS software for more than a year now, and never found a good software that was for free. Google maps is ok, but if you want a good one, then you have spend some $$. If you happen to come across any good free ones, let me know as well.
The paid software I use now is Odyssey Maps 4.0. Used to use DeLorme, but didnt like it as much as Odyssey.
Also windows live search new version has maps in it too like google...

hello, what i'm looking for, is a program kinda google maps, with geopositioning by gsm, and that don't needs to have an internet connection to download the maps.
I tried navizon, but it need to use internet to dowload the maps...
Any ideas? Something similar to the progam that allows to use google maps offline in the iphone??

tom tom? or i miss understood?
tomtom doesn't have geopositionig by gsm triangulation, thats what i'm looking for.

OziExplorer is the best and most used app for geopositioning. Am using it myself for Geocaching

is that possible on the hd? after a thorough search over the internet i found an application called gpsproga that claims to allow you to save google maps on the storage card but to my luck it is in some weird ass looking language i think russian so i am back to square one :S.. the maps i need are for the middle east hence tomtom or other similar applications won't help me.

It is available for (jailbreaked, as no official Apple app) iPhones ... but someone might contact the author and see whether it is possible to port it to WM 6.1.

very quick question ... is there a way of getting google maps to work more accurately?
I m a bit fed up with the programme constantly locating me swimming in the Thames.. if thats the best google maps can do, what are the alternatives? does not have to be freeware ..

Thats because you are being triangled by cellphone signal only
Tap on "use GPS" on the lower menu, and get a towell

It takes a while for the GPS on my x1a to activate...i'm guessing its scanning it for them...but once i get a bunch of them...the gps works perfectly.
Faster GPS
Download the satelite data with QucikGPS and the initial finding of the satelites will be much faster. See this thread ...

no, only for Set Destination need internet connection.... when you set destination, you can turn off internet connection
is there some other apps that use just gps satelites to position??
Search for Navigon wp7 cracked software.
I am not allowed to post here cracked links so you have to search it on google...

P.S. Navigon is a full gps navigation application that is working completely offline
All you need to do is download in the start up the maps and then you go offline for ever.
