Hello,
Where can I find the latest and most stable version of WM 6.1 for the HTC Touch Cruise. Which version do you advice and why?
I'm new here, so most probably I overlook something. Hopefully somebody can help.
How safe is it to flash your ROM?
I like the tools you can get around here to tune your device!!
Thanks in advance for sharing your info!!
Greetz,
Michel
There is no WM6.1 for Polaris yet!
I am pretty sure that there will be more than one very soon!
Aha hah hah ... Only official ROMs is suited for our TC.
Until HTC releases it, we have to wait ....
No No I can't wait any more ....

I meant I already created a WM6.1 rom for it... it is not a ship rom. But I'm pretty sure if HTC would create it, it would look almost the same, cos I completely recreated the XIP section based on the Kaiser WM6.1 rom, updated the boot.rgu changes and also driver changes related to WM6.1.
It is completely stable until now and much faster.

Sure, but you would have to create the nbh file from a nb image... is that ok for you?
XDA Orbit 2
Can anyone please dump a XDA Orbit 2 UK Rom. Just in case it needs to be sent back for repair, as an uploaded Rom would render the warranty Void.
By the way Bepe, really looking forward to your 6.1 release. Thanks for your, and all other Cooks, previous contributions!

It took me 3 days of preparing the XIP section and after I've got the device it took me more than 5 hours to really get it working (and I was the one who made Xipport.exe). There is no how to, you need to use mreloc to move all the XIP modules around to make space for the new dll's.
Better way, but much more complicated is to start with an empty XIP and add one module after another, this way it is almost perfect.
Let me add some more stuff and I'll release a beta, but right now I'm busy with getting the video drivers a bit faster. Scrolling is a mess with this device (compared with other devices with the same processor)
Hey I’m the first one to post! Yippee
Thanks Admins...
It would be better if the phone was actually out.
Here’s hoping SE release the X1 sooner rather than later. It has the potential to become a great device especially if someone on here is able to port Manila (TouchFlo 3D) to it.
Personally I’m not sure how good or useful the panels interface is going to be. I guess I need to see more detailed reviews or demos of the device to make up my mind regarding that.

Hello Everyone,
I am interested too, what software do I need to cook a Windows Mobile ROM?
no offense, but cooking a rom would take a LOT more time and brainpower than simply searching the forums to find out how to do it.
if you dont have the skills to find out, you don't have the skills to do it.

With the TMOUS Leo 2.10, what's the diffence between "...ship.part1.rar" and "...ship.part2.rar"?
Also, Ship_pkgs.7z for the LEO seems to be TOPAZ. So, which one is the LEO...?
I didnt mean it that way, tbh, I have no clue about rom cooking, I've just gotten sick of all the idiots who come posting about "WHERE IS ANDROID????" and "WHY IS MY PHONE BRICKED!!!!" who obviously did no research at all before starting. sorry if i rubbed you the wrong way.

You need two parts to extract file, then you get .exe file, then extract that .exe file again, you get RUU_signed.nbh.
Now you just import RUU_signed.nbh and cook your own rom.
I use ervius's visual kitchen. Here's a link to one I threw up last night using the stock rom from TMOUS...
[ Kitchen ] [ 3-31 ] [ v0.1 ] [21889] RSToyGuy's TMO.US Kitchen
Not all pretty and stuff, but it works for me!

how exactly do i extract the RUU_signed.nbh?
UPDATE: I got it, for anyone that may be wondering the same thing I was having trouble with, open the downloaded .exe from with an archive editor (7-zip, or winRAR) and extract the RUU_signed.nbh.

You're a "quietly brilliant" cooker!
Keep up your good work!
But I also have two questions:
How did you rescue your bricked TG01? Or do you have a new one?
I saw that your Rom uses much RAM. Do you think that you could optimize the RAM? That would be a major step in the right direction with our TG01
Best regards and have a nice weekend!
DunkDream
HI,
Thanks for comments, but i am just a normal person
I have my briked tg01 as well with me.I borrowed one of my friends tg01
Yes the RAM consumption is an issue.One by one need to check what can be done to stop unwanted programs thereby increasing free ram with sense
I will post the ROM for you guys to check ?
pls let me know
Hi hdubli, happy to see that many cooker are working on our great tg01, thanks for your work.
I can't wait to see first 6.5.5 rom with full sense and htc UI without the limitation of 20% battery.
If you want an unbranded rom start cooking from the italian one.It's completely unbranded .
I hope you'll insert the multilanguage support in your future roms.
Thanks again for what you are doing guys.

I thought about that too, cuz with an autoinstaller able it's so easy to install whatever we want to our little one after flash and before first use, but... I think that it's not the way to go because he says he doesn't want anyone to COOK with his driver.

First of all I Thank you XDA and all developers for making HD2 to run Android
Hi! I am using Android on my mobile from the last 6months and I am trying to cook a build on my own. Don't know how to do that.
Thank God! Yesterday I saw this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
Trying to work on this, I am looking for a best Glacier Sense, I downloaded the test file of the RCS team and used it with the Kitchen. I made couple of modifications. I changed the kernel to rafpigna's along with modules and initrd.gz file from your your build and repacked the ZIP. No errors but after converting the Update-script to Updater-script at the end, It showed me a message saying that I need to do some modifications in the following statements in updater-script depending on the device.
format("MTD", "userdata");
mount("MTD", "userdata", "???");
format("MTD", "boot");
format("MTD", "system");
mount("MTD", "system", "/system");
I am a noob in this kind of programming and ignored it. Finally I tried to flash the build using CWM, it shows me no error message but stucked at 'Installing from Zip'
So, again I tried to change those lines and copied those lines from Imilka's glacier build. Now I got an improvement, while flashing my zip through CWM it shows the message Installation aborted.
Now I can't do anything. What modifications should I need to do?
Anyone Please Help me!
Now I tested my build again, enabling Signature verification. It displays the error
Installation aborted
Toggle signature verification failed
I hope some one will point me to a correct direction,
oh .. you making roms .... good luck friend
a bit different from our syntax but sure will help you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641223
just experiment yourself, hundreds of times if necessary, this is the first "quality" needed to cook a build, no one will give you ready answers or solutions. I remember I flashed my first build about 80 times before I got it working...
p.s.
dont use a kitchen.. they are supposed to work with native androids, this can cause some "issues" specially in the updater script
Thank you! I will try using normal method for cooking. If you don't mind can I PM you for some assistance on my doubts.

I booted my first working build without any assistance apart the domineus thread, Yes it's possible.. you have just to be no lazy and dont want to do all things in short time. Google and XDA have 90% of answers you may need. Also you have to understand how android works "behind", or you will never be able to do "tweaks" or understand how fix things. Google android project home page is a good point to start. And remember to use android sdk and ddms always to see what's going on. Last thing, but not least, you have to use and understand a bit linux, this will help you a lot specially with debugging. About PM sorry I really have no time to reply. You can try on IRC chat when I am there or others can give you some hints

A kitchen is a good place to start for people just learning how to 'cook' or create a custom ROM, who don't want to learn all the technical details right off the bat. Updater-script issues are few, but these are also part of the learning process for aspiring cooks.
I've actually updated the Android Kitchen recently so that it will work with HD2 NAND ROMs. We did have at least one guy who successfully flashed his HD2 with the Android Kitchen. If we can get more people trying it out then it will help towards improving the kitchen
Anyways Shree - if you have any bug reports for the kitchen please report in the kitchen thread.. thanks!

I don't think that's the problem with the kitchen. The updated version is really good. But I feel that the updater-script has some thing to change. I am learning about that. If everything in my script was correct, then it might be your turn to make HD2 compatible with Kitchen. After all, I feel that this kitchen is not completely compatible with Non-native Android devices HD2.
Thanks for your support. You did your best to help me, but its my noobness to be blamed as I failed again and again.
Anyway, I learning to know how things are happening in an Android build

A kitchen is a good place to start for people just learning how to 'cook' or create a custom ROM, who don't want to learn all the technical details right off the bat. Updater-script issues are few, but these are also part of the learning process for aspiring cooks.
I've actually updated the Android Kitchen recently so that it will work with HD2 NAND ROMs. We did have at least one guy who successfully flashed his HD2 with the Android Kitchen. If we can get more people trying it out then it will help towards improving the kitchen
Anyways Shree - if you have any bug reports for the kitchen please report in the kitchen thread.. thanks!

I already did that with imilka's Glacier sense build. As I use the base from RCS team's touch build as Imilka did. Can't find any difference. Thank you for keeping an eye on me!

The kitchen was updated a couple of weeks ago to support fully deodexing the Desire HD ROMs - is that the one you mean?

Shree.. look for a program called Beyond Compare to do diffs between the original updater-script and the one that the kitchen generates in the end. The kitchen so far does a pretty good conversion to update-script and back to updater-script.
