[REQ]Volume settings 4 Headset connected/disconnected. - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Is there by any change an already excisting application that could predifine volume settings when the headset is connect/disconnected. Or even better, a code monkey who is willing to give this idea a go and create it from scratch.
My Diamond Volume is set to max when the headset is unplugged.
But when I Connect it, I've to readjust both Ring Volume & System volume, for its simply to loud and painfull to the ears.
Its not that I'm lazy and not willing to adjust the volume manually, its then when I happen to forget it (and that happens quite often) The Volume of an incomming call can be quite painfull to the ears let alone give me a hart attack. Not the kind of thing I like to see happen while I'm driving my car.
I've searched and ran in to alot of dead ends, so if any one have some suggestions to offer I'm all "Ears"

I guess MortScript can be used here, but you would need to start it manually anyway. I dunno if MortScript allow to write scripts whcih would hang in the memory, probably some loops and it can be set to check required parametrs all the time. However it's not the direct solution. It needs to be a programm, rather simple: it hanging in the memory and checks if headset is plugged in (or if it can't be doen directly then checking specific registry value). When headset in programm change sound values. Too bad I'm not a programmer

Well, I tried to use mortscript for it
(see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3303572&postcount=1235) , but I didn't check my script, I just tried to change registry entries and see if it affects volume. Unfortunatly it's not (and I just recently read somewhere that sound changes doesn't work this way). Just changing registry values doesn't help, somehow it works directly when you puch buttons. I dunno if it;s possible to emulate this buttons in a script.
I'd realyl like to see solution myself, I just noticed that I was always changing volume for music but not for phone. My luck none called me while I was listen to music .

AT&T A.30.07 ROM and Volume on phone

So, I'm experiencing what everybody else is with this ROM. That initial volume level starts out soft and gradually increases to the max that I have it set to. Some have stated they like this and that's fine. But, I HATE it  . I can never hear my phone ring anymore if it's in my pocket. Has anybody found a possible registry key or setting somewhere to turn this off?
And if any AT&T folks are listening.. I'd like a setting in the volume area to turn this off or on.
Phone Profile
Have you check under phone profiles... Ascending Ring change to Standard Ring
Dustoff
I don't have a phone profile, or i should say i don't see any where for that option. In the phone settings area the Ring Type is set for Ring. There is an option for "Increasing Ring" but that's even worse than it is already. I don't think this is what I'm looking for.
Since the WM2003 upgrade on my SX56, 've noticed issues with the speakerphone volume. I can barely hear it in fact. Any thoughts on this one?
Fiddled around with the volume setting, moved it up and down, and the now the volume issue seems resolved. Can't say for sure if that's what resolved it, but it's fine now.
I'm experiencing the same problem with the AT&T rom.. I'm going to take a look around in the registry later on... before I go installing any apps
Well I have taken a look @ the processes running and can't see anything obvious that would be doing the volume thing..
So I have had a poke about in the registry and have found a section with sound profiles and it has an attenuation property, I have tried adjusting this, and deleting it but still no good
Also there is an entry in the registry called Hack and mentioned Vol in the string... but it didn't make any difference when I deleted that either
If anyone thats a bit more acomplished than myself with the PPC Phone could take a look and find a solution to this, i'm sure many users would appreciated it
Has anyone figured out how to make the volume level constant yet?
Any solutions to get the volume working well on A.30.09 ENG yet?
Nope. I just put my phone volume on next to the top setting and the system volume two levels below it. Works fine then. As long as the system volume is two levels below it will not graduate the sound.

I made contacts with att's support ,I told them about this problem thus I'm not the only one who's experiencing this, lots of ppl sees this ennoying , I hope they would help here...

ATT Rom Sound Limiting

Ok, I found a hint at the solution to the sound limiting thing on the AT&T New Rom.....
Going in to the Registry:
Code:
My Registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER]ControlPanel/SoundCategories/...
Under: Feedback to RingPreview there is this little line called InitVol I believe it has something to do with this line as if I take it out, I get almost no sound... and in some spots it will simply place itself back in if removed!
I will continue to tinker with this!
MrDollyMaker
I just discovered something and would like someone to confirm this one...... When you click on the speaker, if you turn the volume down on the PocketPC side and leave the phone up to full, the increasing ring goes away. If you put the volume back up on the PocketPC side, the increasing ring begins to start again....
Anyone confirm this odd bit?
MrDollyMaker
you are right
I can!

Glad to know it's not just me.... found a similar thread on AT&T's support forums.... AT&T said to use WAV files and they will play loud...
Granted. Am I not using a WAV file for my ringer? (double checks) YEP.... must be me, not AT&T! NOT!
MrDollyMaker
Mental note:
Must be a programed line due to the Volume Attinuation is based from the volume setting on the PocketPC side..... Now to figure out where this code is to try and remove or dissable it!
Example (But not exactly writen like this):
Code:
VolumeLimiting=(((Volume/2)*InitVol)*AttinuationCategory)
Granted, maybe it could be considering all are actual settings in the Registry except VolumeLimiting...

Ring volume
Ok. I too can confirm that this works. BUT.... Can you also confirm that it now only RINGS ONCE and then the rest is silent.

Hmmm, haven't had that problem. I solved the issue with the alarms and reminders being silent by using BatteryPack2004 v5.2. It has a feature called Power Alert that when turned on can up the reminder and alarm volume to MAX even if you have it muted!
Now I can have the PDA volume off and ringer up full and still hear my alarms and reminders. (just can't hear the notices) If I play MP3s or WMA files through media player I have to turn it up of course.....
Still cant' find the fix for this yet.
MrDollyMaker
I'm using a WAV file though... I'll check weather that has an effect or not..
Hi everyone...
I just upgraded mine to WM2003 from O2 XDA.
I know that WM2003 phone edition allows MIDI files as ringtones, all you have to do is copy the midi files you want to \windows\rings folder and you should be able to pick the ring from option.
however, when I selected the midi file ringtone from the option, IT CANNOT PLAY!
is this just me or everyone has the same problem?
let me know... thanks heaps...
Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? This "feature" REALLY sucks, and makes my Voice Command not nearly as useful as it could be.

Unfortunatly no.... I'm now waiting on the new T-Mobile rom that is due out soon. Talked with some of the techs there. They claim that the delay in release is due to some querks with a new driver for the battery that increases the battery life by almost 2 hours in PDA mode along with a querk with the sound not working right.
They did say expect it some time in March as long as they at least solve the sound problem.
MrDollyMaker
I actually think AT&T or MS made a simple but fatal mistake in either wavedev.dll or PhonePH.dll or possibly setawsnotifyreg.exe.
I think what they aimed for was to have the ringer start at the PDA level and then slowly rise to the Phone level if they differed. Then someone managed to get it all wrong and made it start at MaxPDA-PDA or possibly Phone-PDA instead of Min(PDA,Phone).
I've tried to find a way to replace wavedev.dll and PhonePH.dll to try my theory, but haven't yet found a way. I'll do a little messing around with the registry settings as well...

Been there, done that.
Be aware that the T-Mobile rom has an even worse bug than the increasing ring. It starts up by itself.
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the device is ON. Pressing the power button will make it go to sleep again, but sometimes it goes on again just seconds later. As things get worse while moving, it could have something to do with signal strength or handover.
Walking through the output from ssnap it seems that the AT&T rom is actually newer than the T-Mobile. The date of most of the files in 4.01.16 is back in September, while most of the files in the AT&T rom is from mid December.
After having enough of accidental phone calls and calendar items because the phone turned itself on in my pocket I will try the AT&T rom for a while and see if it's any better. And actually, the volume is not that big a deal if you use something like spb pocket+. Just set the PDA volume to the lowest or next lowest setting, the phone to the next highest or highest, set the repeating alarm function in pocket+ to use full or increasing volume, and voila!
For the record, some of us using the final T-Mo ROM are not experiencing the spontaneous activations bug.

Download the Offical T-Mobil upgrade. No sound issues or any problems I can find.
MrDollyMaker
Thanks. I have the ROM however they fill it with so much bloatware I can't squish all of my proggies in there. I was hoping for a hack or something. I did increase the Initvol from 2 to 4 which stops the low volume at first however it does get quite loud. Maybe I'll install and see anyway. Nothing to lose but time I guess. Thanks again.
Random On and crescendo
HI,
has anyone found a solution to either of the above mentioned problems? The Volume issue is a problem when using navigation. I tried intalling T-Mob but get random on problem.

Low Speaker Volume

Is there a way (registry hack, any other program) to increase the volume of the speaker during the phone conversation? I also own a Hermes and the speaker volume of the Trinity is so low compared to it that I can sometimes barely hear the other party. Any help?

I have the exact same problem. When I am in a public place and when there is some noise around, I hardly hear the person I am speaking to. Even when I turn the wheel on the left to maximum
I have spent a lot of time looking for a solution but I have just seen that for some qtek devices, there is the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN] with values EARPHONE_UPLINK_VOLUME and RECEIVE_UPLINK_VOLUME, that allow to modify the max output level of the speaker. But I didn't find that key in the trinity
Even if I turn the scroll wheel all the way up, the volume is too low.
The audiogain registry key (although it doesn't exist in trinity's registry) is actually to improve the sound quality of the microphone and not the volume of the phone.
When I first make a call, when I hear the first ring, it is actually louder but then from the second ring on, the volume decreases at least by 25%.
Anybody with any ideas?
anyone figured how to increase call volume yet?
I would also appreciate a solution to improve the Speakerphone volume.
I would appreciate any fix to increase the volume of anything!
The included stereo headphones are completely useless! My god, why did they even put a volume dial on the headphones? I can barely hear anything with this crap phone...
A pity considering every other features works just perfectly.
ive got the same problem, before the bass fix, the volume was high but with a really unstable and bad sound... after the fix, there is kind of better sound but in phone calls the volume is low.. i really start hating this device......
I've been using my new p3600 for two weeks now, and this low speaker volume issue is killing me. I've been a Noia user for years, and the difference in sound quality during normal calls is simply unacceptable. The p3600 has so many awesome capabilities for such a small phone, but when it comes to the most basic function, I'm quite disappointed with.
I would also appreciate a fix to improve the quality of the speaker.
Cheers
i can say that this is not the only problem, there are so many others that i stopped thinking of this one... im going for a final hard reset now.. im really tired...im sick of it.....
Someone has an idea ?
Has anyone found away to increase the incall volume yet ???
Someone posted this registry hack elsewhere (use at your own risk of course)
1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER
2. ControlPanel
3. SoundCategories
4. InCall
5. InitVol
6. Change the DWORD value to 6 (Default = 2)
7. Click Done
Wait approx 10-15 seconds before testing.
PS. If the registry key or value doesn't exist, you can always try creating it.
Has anyone tried this??
What was the outcome??

Ah ha...
I just bought Dopod D810(HTC Trinity) for my wife yesterday, and just now she complained to me about this "low on call volume" to me. And since I'm the one recommended her the phone I have to responsible. LoL.
But despite this problem, all of other features are flawless, complete, with excellent case design. Kudos to HTC!!
Btw, this is kind of dejavu for me since it also happened on my Eten M600 back then. This issue can only be solved on driver level, i.e: patch the RILgsm.dll, or include this patched driver in newly cooked ROM.
On which, I don't have the necessary skills to do that... -sigh-
Any expert users can help us???

Volume level differences between cooked and original ROMS

Hi All,
I was wondering anyone out there is experiencing the same issues as myself and hopefully can tell me how to correct the problem.
If I install a cooked WM 6.1 ROM (could be any number of them, ceM, NIAX, etc) the volume through the earpiece (not BT headset or wired headset) is terribly low (to the point I can't use the device). I have configured the volume to be FULL (high) but still it's impossible to hear.
If I install the OEM WM 6 ROM from HTC (or Dopod) the volume is A LOT louder (but not necessarily great quality).
Can anyone tell me where the settings for volume might be contained in the Registry or otherwise? I have tried various changes under HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\ but nothing seems to flick the switch, so to speak.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
WC

Almost same problem here!
I wish to rise the volume of the internal speaker!
It is a matter of registry,or what?
Thanks in advance.

My solution
hi,
I had this issue also, then i found a solution which worked for me, will be glad to share, extract the attachment into windows folder and the shorcut in startup folder, soft reset couple or three times and chek if its worked. be carefull all files are hiden so be sure to select (show all files in the files explorer, the same as in your computer)
here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=128582&stc=1&d=1226249651
let me know.
thnks
thanks for sharing
I'll let you know...
Masalism,
Thanks for your post, I have given it a shot and get the following result. The volume is definately louder, but I have no volume control with the jog dial on the side of the phone. Also the quality in the earpiece is quite distored, possibly from the volume......?
Many thanks for your suggestion, if you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.
(to the Mods, apolgies for posting in the wrong section)

Update:
Hi All, I have discovered that "Schaps WM6 4.30 ROM" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355506 has, for me, the best volume level and control.
Just thought I'd share my findings.
WC
WangChung, still the problem remains! Anyone know how to solve this problem without trying several Roms?
incoming ring
Additionally - I hear no incoming ring whatsoever in the earphones. The phone is ringing according to its settings, but I do not hear it independent wheter or not I am listening the audio player (core, win) or not.
im in the same boat i guess

In-Call Volume Starts Too Low!

TMOUSA HD2, latest stock ROM.
I searched about this problem on the web with Google, and on this forum, and have not yet found a solution. I hope that someone reading can help me.
This has nothing to do with the system volume, nor the ringer volume, both of which I have set to max.
It only involves in-call volume, hearing the other party talking to you. I have this same problem whether the sound is coming directly from the handset pressed against my ear, or with a bluetooth headset.
Whenever I receive a call on the HD2, at first the sound of the other party's voice is WAY too low. I cannot understand anything they say, do not know who it is, in fact I barely hear anything. (That, despite, both the system and ringer volumes both set to max.)
Then, I press the volume up on the volume rocker several times, or the volume control on my bluetooth headset, and finally I can hear the person talking to me.
That is a hassle--that when someone calls, at first I barely hear anything, don't even know who it is, or what they said, until I press the volume up rocker several times.
It seems like, regardless of system and ringer volume settings, that with an incoming call, the volume is initially set at a VERY low level.
Is there a way that can be fixed--registry tweak, etc.?
I may have come across a fix for this, but am not sure.
I did a search for the word "Volume" in the registry.
One key and value I came across was the following key:
HKLM\Services\HTCAP\SmartHandsetVolumeControl\Handset
I took the value InCallVolume, and changed the dword data to the number which I think represents max volume: 4294967295.
I think that has helped with the problem of the initial call volume on receieved calls being too low. I'm not sure yet though, as I have not received many calls since.
I see many different volume control values in the SmartHandsetVolumeControl key and its subkeys, and cannot say I understand them.
Is there someone reading who really understands what these different registry volume settings mean?
Today I checked voice mail. Therefore a call I placed to voice mail, not an incoming call. I wasn't using a bluetooth headset, but had the phone directly to my ear. I heard the voice mail recording way too softly, could hardly make it out. I pressed the up volume rocker, and it didn't make any difference, I could barely make out the voice mail. (By the way, this was after I made the change mentioned above.)
I think the HD2 has a lot of strange quirks regarding volume, and I think these registry keys may hold the key for dealing with them. If anyone reading really understands the HD2's volume registry keys, please help us to understand them.
Thank you.
PS
I found the following page:
http://www.techparaiso.com/windows-...t-phone-volume-levels-on-windows-phone-device
which describes volume registry settings in \HKCU\Control Panel
It is really confusing, all the different volume settings in the HD2 registry, some generic to WM 6.5, and others specific to HTC and the HD2.
If someone really understands how all these volume settings interact, it would be great if a guide to them were posted!
Thanks in advance.
I couldn't get this to work. Does anyone know how to change the call volume via the registry? My phone crashed when I try to do it via the hard buttons on this ROM.
