Calendar in PANEL Wrong - XPERIA X1 General

I just noticed after upgrading to the new R2AA Generic UK that the calendar in the two SE panels are wrong.
Today is February 6th, 2009 a Friday (At least I think it is a Friday ). My calendar has a box around Day 6 however the day title shows Sat????
Anyone face this.
P.S. BTW - I did install some Arabization software not sure if this screwed it up or not as I did not notice it until afterwards.

check that the date (year) is correctly set, check also your regional settings (the calendar shows friday on my x1, also on guk r2aa)

I haven't updated my firmware but the date on my calender is always American format (mm/dd) even though my regional settings are for the UK (dd/mm). It's very annoying. Anyone know how I can change that?

I may be silly.... But check the YEAR.
Remember the upgrade was made in 2008.
EDIT:
6th Feb is Sat on 2010.....

Do you mean the PREVIEW of the panel? Like when you're in the Panel Manager, where you select which panel to view, and there's panels in a grid... is the date wrong then? Because in that case, it's meant to be wrong - the panels are only static images. When you actually launch the panel, if you wait for 3 seconds then it will show the correct date.

Regional Settings Bug

If I set my PPC to US English, my long date (on today screen) will display as Thursday, 28th July 2005.
However if I set it to UK English then it displays as 28th July 2005 (No 'thursday')
There is no option in UK English to make it display the day of week.
I doubt this problem is unique to the JAM but figured I'd post here to be sure.
Does anyone know of a way around this problem as its really annoying.
Cheers,
Kev
I had a look in the registry earlier and found something that looked about right. It contained a dd-mm-yyyy type string anyway.
But now I look again I cant find it.
Im starting to question whether I imagined it earlier.
Anyone have any ideas how to sort this?
Never mind. I found the key.
\HKLM\nls\overrides\SLDte
Now I know what day of the week it is

Getting the calender to show more then just today's appointments?

Any one know how? Old HTC Touch used to show the next three - this one only shows today's - am I missing some setting?
Thanks folks!
Hello!
Nobody knows?
Maybe it´s only the German Rom ... ?
I have the same problem ...
There has been a long discussion over at pocketpc.ch about this issue. My german version also only shows appointments up to the next day. Maybe there will be a fix in future firmware updates.

Minimize the clock by moving your finger upwards on the screen.
Now it should show 5 meetings (only the next day though)
Still, it bugs me that it can't show more with a large clock, since it's a lot of empty space there.
As said before, probably a bug.

How cool is that, didn't know you could minimise the clock
My UK model is the same! Another bug I found is when the days event has passed, it still shows as today! For example, a birthday will be a day old, and yet still claim to be today. I have to exit TF3D and restart to update. Anyone else suffer from this?!

Yes, I've seen the same problem. It did it with no other software installed, so evidently a TF3D bug.
If we all take the time to report bugs to HTC then hopefully they'll fix them!
Not that I've had a response back to my reports!
Thanks all for the thoughts. Like i said it works fine on the Touch and I cant believe its that complicated to show the next three appointments whenever they may be......hopefully someone will create a tweak for it.
This problem actually persists even if I turn off TouchFlo, i.e. the original windows 6.1 does also just show today/tomorrow.
Upon entering the Calendar - it actually shows the same. If I recall right, previous versions had a list of coming appointments.
Perhaps the problem is not TouchFlo-related after all?
Yup you're right, previously you could see three upcoming appointments, your next appointments no matter how far in the future they are
Same sentiments here, would be great if the Today screen can show upcoming appointments, regardless of how far future the dates be, not just for today and tomorrow only. My o2zinc has this useful feature.
Hope HTC can do a mini program like the o2 has it in o2plus.
disregard.
That would be useful, be able to see today and future appointments. If we could see 3/4 that would be superb! It would give us a head start to buy a birthday gift.
this is not ideal but can be done using the following.
install second today http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401907
this way you can run the standard windows mobile screen as well as touchflow. but that too will only display 1 appointment, so install calendar plus http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/6
this is a simple plugin which adds the feaures your looking for, display multiple days of appointments on the today screen.
as for the inability of touchflow, to refresh itself, so that yesterday's apointment does not remain as today. galarm has the ability to fix this bug, by waking up the device everyday at 12a.m. to refresh. as it's a great alarm program http://freewareppc.com/clock/galarm.shtml
although i think that if u try one of the new ROMs all these issues should have been solved.
good luck

Changing the Start of the Week?

I couldn’t find any threads on changing the starting day of the week to be a Saturday that is shown in the calendar.
Changing registry, tweak or any other way to accomplish this.
Your help is really really appreciated!!
Apparently, one can use SSaMPa (or however the program is called) with a switch (-ew [for weekly view] iirc) to get this done. Use search again, I know this info has come by on the board...

You can do that in PIM options...
Open Calendar => Menu => Tools => Options =>1st week day => you have only choice between Sunday and Monday

Apologies, I should have mentioned that I wanted the start to be a Saturday.
I know the first place to look is Calendar Options . I know you mean well but I am not that stupid
But thanks anyway.
Go into Settings, Regional Settings and change it to US, or something.
I found that after changing it to my Country (Romania, Europe) it automatically changed date to have the day/month/year (as expected here) and also the first day of the callendar, it's not mentioned there but it actually changed it.
Please test it out.

I tried your suggestion but unfortunately it didn’t work. I changed it (and did a soft reset) from UAE to USA to UK to Zimbabwe (Hey don’t laugh) and it changed everything except the start day.
If what you suggested is true; I would guess (and bet) that something can be changed in the registry or something. And this is of course something for xda wizards to figure out.
If anyone knows a better place in the forum to put this question please do, you have my blessing.
Thanks for your input
try accesing your Calender from the Today screen.
Right bottom / Menu /Tools/Option anf than secodn option first day of week.
Now, this might work.
Unfrotunate from my weak expereience, settign it up here (called from the Today screen) is somehow different from the callendar (Start/callendar), no idea why.
please test it.
I also need my calendar to start the week on Saturday. Could someone please help me with a registry edit or something to allow the default windows calendar to start the week on Saturday.
Thanks in advance.

TimeZone change notification

Hi, I recently took my HTC Touch 2 on a travel and I noticed that when I'm in a neighbor country the device didn't notify me about the timezone change (I had a second phone with me: a Samsung E250 which instantly notified me about the timezone update/change) and I had to change the hour/time manually on the HTC. Is there a way to make this phone to behave like my Samsung? Thanks.
Have just checked the phone but could not find.....
Perhaps there is a cab floating around.......to be continued.
Could not find anything......
sorry mate
try this
Telephone-->menu-->options-->GSM/UMTS Services-->
scroll down, Time synchronisation
please note, my version is in dutch, but the menu options should be something like this
Good catch...... is there also a notification......?
Thanks donSjon, after 3 days of ticket pending I got the official answer from the HTC support and I want to share with the others:
"Are you enabling to update timezone manually from network? PLease go to start>seetings>personal>phone>timezone. You could as well go to start>settings>system>clock and alarms>check visiting timezone".

New Calendar Bug found.. just on my HD2???

Hey
I searched around, google, different sites.. nothing. So I hope you guys and girls can help me. I have a Bug here that seems to appear for the first time cause I didn´t find anything. Calender Bug yeah.. but not this one.
First: I run HTC HD2 with HTC Rom 1.66.407.1 Ger
Since I have already synced for a few times and until today there was no bug I'm gonna disregard this. Regarding that I don't use Outlook on my pc let's me disregard it even more.
Today (Feb 22nd) i was looking for an appointment in MARCH (upcoming Month) and I know there are about 6 Appointments there, Calendar did not show anything. I restarted the HD2 and when first looking at the Month for just a moment the Appointments where visible but then the where gone and that in all views (Day, Week, Month and Year).
All other Appointments in February and April are still there an visible, but March is like their invisible.
Oh I forgot: No they are not in the last few years or in the upcoming few years (chechked that first).
Since I installed some Tweaks I get to think it might be a problme around there.
So I have got 3 in mind, the last 3 that might have brought that problem:
1)
WM65_LockScreen_HTC_HD2_v2.3
Or 2)
CoOkie.HomeTab_v1.5.4 (you know this masterpiece for sure..)
Or 3)
Brians Taskbar [g.f. edition] v4.0 (Version E)
All these 3 Tweaks are great and I don't intend on missing on one of them.. Can please anybody tell me that there is something I've overlooked, cause I want to use this calendar when it's there already and no I don't plan to just install another, such bugs drive me crazy and I'm not just giong out of their way.. PLEASE HELP!
silly basic question I know but you have the correct time and date set on your phone?
same problem, and same tweaks installed.I can see my entries in the standard calendar but the htc calendar doesn't show any of my march entries. any ideas?
date and time are correct btw
happened to me when i was messing with date format in HKLM/nls/overrides/SDDate when i changed to d. M. yyyy it was ok...
Yes, at least what it shows is correct..
Perhaps it helps to mention, that I installed .net compact framework 3.5 which seems to work (installed a prog that did not run on 2.0 and now does run).
Amd I have had a little porblem with a earlier tasbar, that just did not wanted to uninstall.. i overwrote it with another and then both where gone and windows symbols where back. Then I installed the one mentioned above.
