Just edited the skin.dial.640x480 and skin.dial.480x640 to black and white and played with the contrast and brightness so it suits touch diamond a little better. For anyone interested the skin files are actually just png format.
Hope someone finds this useful.
New diamond style based on IPC Black Dialer ENG
backup the file skin.dial.480x640 file in the directory AGEphone is installed to (IE: \Internal Storage\Program Files\AGEphone) then copy over the new file skin.dial.480x640
enjoy

Is there any chance you could do a 800x480 and 480x800 skin in Black?
Thanks in advance!

feel free to leave any comments.

I totally love this skin, but it's mapped all wrong for wvga. =(

Having tried the default orange E-TEN_M600_Dialer _Skin & Pauly-A_Skin_Grey I still find it difficult to read the shaded dialling box in sunlight.
A simple Back & White, without shading, Skin would offer maximum contrast. I have brightness set to maximum.
Any suggestions?
TIA
Peter
Try DIY The Eten skin is made up of multiple graphical files. Load this graphical files into your graphics editor (in your PC) and make it b&w.
Quick fix

Thanks for your suggestion: I simply opened the .bmp files& blanked out the grey shading in PcvDialerBkP & PcvDialerBkP_Inv
Copied them into the Windows folder, overwriting the shaded ones, and now have Black on White dialling!
When I have time I will 'play' with the rest
Regards
Peter
Any chance of posting them on here for the incredibly lazy

It appears that only the PcvDialerBkP is necessary - don't know the significance of the _Inv extension; initially I used the same file with the _inv extension.
This is only a 'rough' copy; those with patience and/or skill will be able to improve upon it:
Black & White dialer skin Mk2
Have reworked it:
One suggestion. You ought to use a better font. The TNRoman is good for writing letters and stuff, they aren't really pretty in most cases. Try using the Tahoma or Arial (as what the original comes with), it will look better and i think it gives you a better contrast as well (e.g. a small font Tahoma is better to look at than a small font TNRoman)
UPDATE: After you've finished, you might want to pack it up and post it to this thread

Any luck in creating the dialer skin?
I'm also searching for a clean Dialer skin. Thinking about taking the dialer from the new Treo 750v en modify it so it fits in the E-ten dial skin. Or maybe use the ZPhone as a template...

I agree with you. Although the colorful skins are nice to look at, in bright sunlight I need HIGH contrast. This link is for Zphone dialer skin and today theme.
http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/GL_SubDirectory.asp?SEC=3&CatID=82
If you want high contrast black and white, choose the "zphone_wm5_carbon_mm_qvga1.6.cab" for the dialer skin. This is the normal skin, not Eten, then get the Today theme "carbon_extrablack_blackbars.tsk" from the "zpv_wizard_dialpad_skins_w_tsk" package. They match, and the security code entry pad changes to the same black and white theme too. I've been using it for months, it is really bright. There are other skins in the pack also, but the ones I pointed out are the highest contrast that I've found anywhere.
That's the same dialer I'm using for a few weeks now.
Personally I also like the TiBlue dialer from paulya.com
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone knew of a big button calculator that's skinnable, preferrably one that's already touch themed? I've tried gcalc but I'd prefer something more finger friendly and doesn't require me to switch views to do % or clear.
Thanks!
i created a touch skin for gCalc using photoshop, but when i use it on ppc it looks horrible - like it can only render in 256 colours... any ideas?
i just found out that you can actually skin the default calculator that came with windows mobile... there is a black skin that looks nice for touch
you can get it here (but you have to sign-up 1st)

that is because the display/WM6 only has 16 bit color depth, which makes the shading effect look awful.
Try to save it as dithered gif. Although it is only 8 bit color it should look much better.
Maybe you can use Adobe Photoshop to save it as dithered 16bit .bmp
Or simply take the (dithered) background from the Touch Home plugin. You find that as .png in the \windows folder
thanks for the tip...
anyway anyone knows how to create a skin for the default calculator? mind telling me how? the black one looks good but i want to try my hands on creating a more touch theme one
Thanks for the great skin, however I would also like to know how to make these skins, so if someone knows, please share! =D
Here's my try ...
Install the SPB Black Skin and the copy the SpbCalc_P.gif in the Touch "Windows" directory (replace the old one). Start calc.exe ... that's all
View attachment SpbCalc_P.zip
I only made the Portrait skin since I don't use the landscape mode
Here's a screenshot :
Enjoy ...
it works n looks great... thanks

Hey nice going there Jayz2K. I acutually liked this one so good that I shaved down the original SPB Black Skin (from 372kb to 57kb) and created a cab for your image. Thumbs Up
File removed:
ELF_CalculatorSkin.cab (56.5 KB, 111 views)

The ELF Calculator Skin is now perfected.
I have redone all the graphics from scratch and polished off the design.
This in my opinion has led to a more clean and true ELF like look.
A big thanks still goes out to Jayz2K for the inspiration.
The file size have increased a bit but I'm sure you will agree that it is worth it.

Hey everybody,
I created some themes for the great Pocket CM (v0.15), feel free to try these.
Allblack.cmt:
A clean and simple as possible theme, black background, white letters, thats all
Apple.cmt:
White background and a lot of apple logo's, Somehow I just can't get this theme to work the way I want to, but as I don't want to use it for myself I stopped working on this one. Feel free to use these and please give me some feedback.
HTCTouch.cmt:
Inspired on the HTC Dailer plugin
And my personal favorites:
PimpedTouch.cmt:
HTCTouch with some cool b&w backgrounds
Silver:
B&W theme with silver accents, custom icons and nice backgrounds.
Update
Silver2
Because Pimpedtouch was a winner, and I liked the silver one, I've combined them into silver2 (how original).
Another update
Sunset
I wanted to bring some color in your life, so here a theme with some nice sunsets, but still usable.
Please post some screen shots.
1&2 = Silver theme
3 = allblack
4 = HTC Touch
5 = Apple (work in progress)
6&7 = Pimpedtouch
That's cool..Great work thx Pimpedtouch is very nice ...
Themes are (especially the "pimped") very clean and smooth. No hiccups, lol. Way to go!!! I look forward to more of your work.
Vga Themes Required
any chance for VGA Themes
Grea themes, thank you!
Pimped looks GREAT!!!! One question though:
Are these QVGA compatible? (I have a Treo)
These themes are all QVGA (240*320)
I can (try to) make a VGA theme, but I don't use those.
@ farehmani: which one do you want in VGA?
This is my first VGA theme.
Please give comments, I have a QVGA device, so I can't test this one...
Please upload screenshots too, because I'm curious how it ended
Some information, it has some Iphone-like buttons and backgrounds of dark cities (nightshots). Also a lot of transparancy, I don't know if pocketCM supports them all.
Please post screen shots. If they are like the pimpedtouch theme. I am all for them. That theme was hot.
The Blue theme on the pcm forum is my favorite..
love it!
I don't have a emulator, so I cannot test the VGA version...
can somebody please test the VGA version and post screenshots?
Here you go, VGA version of Dark City. Everything displayed (icons, letter, pictures), is just huge and literally spilling of the screen.
Is that the screen on a VGA (480x640) or QVGA (240x320)screen? Somebody at the Pocket CM forum said it worked ok, so I'm confused...

thanks
Can you post some screenshots in 480x640 for me please? Then I can see what to improve...
Hi! Audible.com is a provider of audio books.
When I installed AudiblePlayer 5.5.0.6 for PocketPC on my HTC Touch Diamond, I noticed that the original skin was only 240x320 pixels.
I modified it to fill the 480x640 screen on my Diamond, by smoothly scaling the skin images and basically doubling the coordinates and font sizes in the AudibleGreen.ini text file.
It will probably work fine on a Touch HD as well, but will not fill the entire screen.
Attached is the modified skins folder, simply overwrite it in the folder where you installed the original AudiblePlayer:
What a timely post! I just signed up for Audible today (been thinking about doing it for months) and noticed the same thing. Came here an poof! There's your solution!
Thanks.
I made a VGA skin in red color , and everything else also in red for icontacts and idealer.I have even the icon of diamond as phone!
I think is very beautiful as a skin.
More info and photo of the icon here

In the file i have upload there are 3 files there after you unzip
We copy the sosimple_vga.skn and sosimple_vga.png where we have install icontact \Program Files\iContact\Themes
We run iContactCfg.exe and we choose the sosimple_vga theme from there.
For the idealer, we go to the folder of the programm idealer \Program Files\iDialer and we copy there the default.png
(erase the original default.png there...)
