Do you mean the new SE firmware,
btw artesea i am running touch flo, and i did try to search for this problem with many keywords but no luck

Well there must be at least 5 posts on the same subject. ALL with the same answer which is TouchFlo changes the right softkey.

ok i found the answer and it is the is no way to change it when touch flo is installed

The right hand side hard button - this has been mapped to 'HTC Home' as for some reason, the same hardware key on the Blackstone is actually 'Home'. Although this is a problem, some people have requested that I leave it as it is a nice way of going to the home screen. Others want me to try and remove the mapping so it works according to what the softkey above it says. Shall we vote on this?

Hey, how did you get the soft key mapped to the start menu?
I used the advanced configuration tool, but it does not show the start menu.
Could you help me out?

A few UI modificaiton questions.

I've been searching around quite a bit but have been unable to find solutions for what I would like to do to my PPC.
I have a hermes running At&t wm5 with no intention of upgrading yet;
but my questions are:
1. I would like to change the icons of the programs in all of my menus such as start>programs and start>system>settings. I assume a program or patch, as well as a lot of work is needed. Any ideas how to go about doing this?
2. I want to change the 2 bottom soft keys on the today screen (phone/contacts) to Lock / Contacts. As in just hit my left hard or soft key to lock the phone.
Any help is much appreciated
(Also, sorry if this is the wrong forum)

try the attached file for this... called softkey changer.
hey. thank you for the app! I tried it but unfortunately it did not have an option to place the device lock as a soft key.
so unfortunately both problems are still left unsolved =/

Annoying, VERY annoying problem - function keys

Hey guys,
As the title says Ive got a very annoying problem with my xperia. Problem is that the right function keys (silver one) assigned action always changes from "right function key" to "Today" upon restart.
Id like to not do a hard-reset if possible. Anyone got any suggestions how to make sure it sticks with what action I assign to it?
Cheers

sounds to me like the assignment isn't "sticking" in the registery and goes away after restart. try a registery editor and manually assign the key to the program you want.

i have the same problem. do you have tf3d installed ?
yes I do have tf3d installed. which registry key should I change?
I have the same problem. In addition to tf3d I installed the cab that enables to make a panel out of it. Help?
Use AEBPlus to re-assign the key(s). For each hard keys, you get 4 different actions. You will appreciate what u can do with the hard keys!
Also mine after installed touchflo3d.
Guys, remove TF3d! We have a Xperia, X-panel is more than enaught.

doesn't work in my x1. something keeps changing the registry value back ... :-(
yep I had this problem too when I installed TF3D. In the end I uninstalled it because I wanted the right button mapped to voice command and it got annoying having to remap it after every soft reset
if someone has successfully stopped it automatically setting it to "today" please tell us how
I am using Touch-HD Manilla instead of TF3D and don't have this problem. Why not use Touch-HD Manilla instead? From what I read, this is faster than TF3D.

I have only so far installed Manilla HD Full, and have never tried the the individual components.

and you're using manilla hd full ?
Yes, am using Manilla HD Full. Also installed the T3FD panel, but later removed it.
I am on ROM 1.02 (was on ROM 1.01 also) by Jack Leung, AEBPlus works on both with Manilla HD Full installed. Didn't bother to install the panel.
I have Touch HD,but I also have this problem,why...
Just curious, are you on the original rom?
I understand some ROMs, the email signature also doesn't get saved. Wonder if this is a related issue.

problem with assigning the softkeys...

What i want to do: Left key= drop down start menu, Right key= file explorer
However what happens is i get the start menu on the left soft key but i only get the file explorer on the right soft key for maybe one/two presses and after that its sets itself to launch Today. Is this normal, i.e do you have to have one of them set as Today? Please help. Thanks.
happens with my phone too...as soon as i reboot or switch panels my left key becomes left softkey and the right becomes today again...
i made an override with AE Buttons...
it seems u r using TF3d.
I have the same p, but for me AE Buttons dont't show the left or right softkeys? Have anyone solved this? It would be really great!!!
P.S.: Happy new year!!!

i do have the panel installed yes...why? does this cause this problem? ty
I have heard of a number of people that use TF3D have issues with the softkeys resetting to default. I personally don't use TF3D and have no issues with my custom softkey mappings.
Glad it's not just me experiencing this issue.
I've got a friend with an X1 with almost exactly the same software installed (TF3D also), he doesn't appear to be having the same issue.

Right Soft Key keeps getting assigned to "today"

when it should be "right soft key" just like the left soft key should be left soft key
any idea why this could be happening?
i always change it back but after a restart of the phone it always gets assigned back.
dont recall this happening before TF3D install though

Hi,
I also play with this problem a lot - for me it looks that this is a bug of TF3D.
Until reset this can be simple fixed by Settings > Buttons and then assignee Right Key to Right SoftKey. Unfortunately this change is gone after reset.
The same is for Registry edit - it is gone after reset.
Currently I am using AE Button Plus application - in there I assigned Right SoftKey to Right SoftKey - it works even after reset.
Hope this helps.

Turn off light with another button?

Does anybody know if it's possible to turn off the phonelight with the button to the right?
You usually use the on-button on the top of the phone but I think it would've been easier to use the button you hang up a conversation with. (just as you are with HTC HD2).
Hoping on a .cab or a positive answer

You can use TD2 Tools that has program called boot manager and assign to a key with Keyboard controller.

Yes, that is the TD2 Tool to install.
Then install the enclosed Kbd controll program. Its pretty intuitive, just keep short press as default and set your long or double press to Boot manager.
or..... you can use SSMaHo to map a shortcut from manila home screen.
As far as instructions, you'll have to read as it is too hard to explain in brief.
One thing you will find is that the left soft key is locked for editing in most ROMs.
You can also set it to a softkey in the registry in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila;
LSK, RSK (left and right soft key path and text)
