Hi All..
How come that my Blackstone is getting slower and slower, anyone have the same issue?
This isn't a fix, but try taking out the sd card and see if it goes faster again?
When I first got my HD, I was blown away by the fast speed. Everything on TF3D was instant with no lag whatsoever. Could not remember any freeze.
However, as I flashed different ROMs, I started experiencing momentary lags and more frequent freeze reported by some users. This includes cooked ROMs.
Today, I decided to go back to the ROM that came with the shipment 1.14.405.3, and am pleased that it is back to the same fast speed once again. Have not got any freeze for the whole day.
I was expecting device ID change for TomTom but luckily it stayed the same moving from one stock ROM 1.19 (Hong Kong version I think) to another stock ROM 1.14.405.3.
A friend of mine had a unit delivered with another version of stock ROM and when I helped him customise his phone, I noted frequent lags and freezing too. This went away with 1.14.405.3 (Not the Orange version, but the Standard European version).

I got an Orange SPV M600 a couple of weeks ago. I played around with it and it seemed quite slow and unstable (switching off in standby mode, random resets etc). I knew about XDA developers from when i had an XDA many moons ago, so I thought I would check out some rom upgrades for the SPV.
I tried Jesters 2.2 AKU rom which speeded things up a lot..but still the random resets persisted and were starting to piss me off.
I stuck an standard rom on and wiped the ext rom and restored an orange uk ext rom and bootscreens then rang orange.
They kindly replaced the phone and since then it has been in perfect working order. running really fast and has given me no problems whatsoever.
The moral of the story......if your phone is acting up, resetting and generally being arse..it may not be the rom thats the problem but a hardware fault. The M600 is superb now and although I would like to upgrade the rom to get some of the new features from a higher AKU I am going to restrain my self from doing so as it runs so well now.
On another note, can anyone recommend a good program that provides a proper close button for apps on the spv, so the apps close instead of minimise?
try HTC-X for closing apps
Or Magic Button...
once bitten....
I got HTC-X and this works fine for me. Does anyone have any experience with bluetooth GPS for the SPV M600? I have TomTom on an SD for my old navman PiN 570 and would like to get an external GPS for the M600 so i can use TomTom on it.
Hi guys i just bought an HD2 about two or three days ago and ive been noticing some sense lag here and there for example sometimes if i go back to home suddenly it takes some time for the weather animation to show up. and the whole phone can lag sometimes when the clock flips. is this normal?
and for my main question im running the 1.66 rom w/ manila version 2.5..would it be wise to upgrade ? what improvements have been made?.. im speaking of getting stock shipped roms only no cooked ones.
thanks.
I'm running Fresh 2.1.2 and I've been having a ton of issues with lag that I never had on Fresh 2.0d. Are people having lag issues on the official 2.1 release too? I've tried to check and see what's running when the lag is happening, and it seems consistent with an app updating itself. I'll go to the list and see that mail has 5% or twitter (not peep) is updating and at 10% or something, but nothing is ever over that and it's always just one or two apps like that and the phone is unusable until they are done.
Now I'm noticing that if my phone is just sitting on the desk and someone calls, it takes a good 5 seconds for the phone to display the screen that tells me who it is. It vibrates, waits a couple seconds, then the default ring tone starts to play, then a couple seconds later the display comes up that says who is calling.
It generally is running like ass. It did not do this before on Fresh 2.0d. I was running apps2sd on that as well as on here. It seems that the only difference between fresh 2.0d and 2.1.2 is the fact that it's now the official released rom. Are people with the official rom having the same issues??? If they are, I'm going back to 2.0d. It ran completely fine. This is starting to get on my nerves and is not the experience I want....

Just go back to 2.0d. I ran 2.1.2 for a very short time and I couldn't take it anymore plus you know that the sprint 2.1 has confirmed issues one of which is the sdcard
Where can I get the original 2.0d now? Can someone post a download link to it please? I'm also experiencing a lot of lag these days as well..
Here's a quote from Fresh Toast v2.1:
A note on slowness: It is coming to our attention that there are several bugs in the latest Sprint 2.27.651.5 RUU which is the official Sprint release. It doesn't surprise me that there are bugs considering our original 1.5 had plenty. The main one that we have come across is a service called com.htc.bg that sucks up your processor. This causes that phone to become extremely laggy and overall run like crap. Go read my new FAQ: Why is my Android phone running so slow? to see what you can do about it, and to report the issue. Keep in mind that this would be a Sprint bug and not Fresh Rom / Fresh Toast.

I think this is why we're experiencing lag, hopefully someone can find a fix for it..
EDIT: Nvm, found the link, here it is:

I think you guys are right. I've been toying with the idea of using Fresh Toast to get overclocking, but 2.0d just worked for me and I had no real issues other than keyboard lag.
Are you guys running w/ Auto Killer (or alternative TK) or no? I've been running FT w/ AutoKiller set to Extreme, with max time between boots having been about 48 hours, and haven't seen any significant slowdown the longer the phone's been on..
I have noticed my hd2 freeze after playing videos for 5 to 15 minutes. It just freezes with the screen of the video. I should do soft reset, and sometimes not only one softreset. This issue also happens during play games or use navigation - iGo.
I tried different ROMs - no change. Now I am with stock 1.66 with SPL - freeze again during play. I tried different battery - no change.
Got hardware problem?
freezing issues
I`ve been driven mental by freezing issues on my o2 branded HD2 since about 2 days after i got it in May.
I`m a complete newbie at all this but yesterday I read through about 300 pages on different forums (xda dev being by far the best) and flashed HSPL to my phone, then installed 3.14 stock rom from this site, and it`s like day and night, the phone runs very fast, no freezing and no bloody dialing numbers whenever it feels like it!!
Very many thanks to all the guys on here for the work that they do, now really happy with the phone again!
freezing issues
just noticed that you are in Varna, I`m in Burgas, running a Vivacom sim in the HD2 now
Nice
But no change with stock rom, cooked rom, spl, hspl, still freeze while i test it with video playback.
Hi all,
I have an N910G in Australia. I have tried many different roms and different OS versions but always have the same problem of random shutdowns on low cell signal.
I'm currently running the Andycar rom because it's just a customised stock MM room and even uses the original CSC.
My phone has never been better but the random shutdowns are happening even on this room.
It can't be an EMMC issue because the phone is perfectly reliable on a stock factory rom.
My wife also has an N910G. I have the exact same issue on both device.
I just installed wakelock to see if it helps but it's too soon to know yet.
What am i missing?
Thanks in advance for any comments
Battery. There is a topic about it out there somewhere.
Only with non standard roms? Multiple phones and batteries, all working properly with stock roms, all will work for days with a reliable cell signal. All will reboot or turn off with a low or changing cell signal.
I'm not ruling battery out but it doesn't sound right to me.
My gut feeling is that it's CSC or BL related but I've tried original stock versions with the custom ROMs - same problems.
The last rom I tried was a customised debloated stock rom - same problem.
I'm lost ...

Hi all,
I have stared from scratch with another fresh install of Andycar customised stock MM 6.0.1 rom. I can use it around the house perfectly for days on end. Battery life and performance is awesome but when I go to work the phone will randomly shutdown every 10 minutes or so.
It's definitely not battery.
It's not EMC.
It's not the sim.
I've flashed modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin from the stock rom (that works 100% reliably) but still I have the same problem that I've had with every single rom I've ever run apart from the stock Samsung rom.
Any time I go somewhere where signal is low the phone will soon shutdown instantly.
Is there anyone else in Australia running an SM-N910G on Telstra with a non standard rom?
Hi, I am not in australia, but can say this.... for what its worth, I have an n910v galaxy note 4 on a custom rom myself. I have set up 3 others exactly like mine. I have not used the rom you mentioned but am using the modestrom instead. none of the phones I set up have ever had random shutdowns. It may be a random problem with the rom itself. I know it isn't really helpful, but wanted to state it anyway.

Hey tattmann,
It doesn't specifically help me but I do appreciate the reply :good:
It's strange that i can produce the same problem on multiple (3) devices with so many different roms. I can't believe that no one else has had the same problems.
In every case I can restore a stock rom and the device will perform reliably - despite having horrible battery life, masses of bloatware and crappy performance...
Thanks again for the reply
With custom roms my phone is shutting down completely when i either open gallery or do two or multiple things at once. Weird thing is once its shut down i cant power it on immediately. I have to connect to charger or remove battery. Then its turning on when i press the button. Sometimes it happens irritatingly fast.
